I had the unique pleasure of working with multiple doctors at Source Physical Therapy. I've been to other physical therapists at 2 other times in my life and my experience has been far better at Source Physical Therapy. As a 37 year old male, I started seeing Dr. Robert Smith after running in the Army 10 Miler in October of 2016 which resulting in neck pain. The constant impact on the asphalt and concrete during the run was not good for my joints and had agitated a prior neck injury in my cervical spine (from a diving accident approximately 15 years prior). "Dr. Rob" as I came to know him, was able to identify pain points and stretching exercises for me to practice to strengthen the muscles around my neck which relieved my pain and stiffness over time as well as return 100% of my prior range of motion. While I was receiving treatment, Dr. Rob was also able to help identify issues in my thoracic and lumbar spine which had been building over the years. He was able to help loosen up and relieve pain points as well as call attention to improper posture I had been letting develop over the years. Since completing treatment with Dr. Rob, I have made a full recovery. After I finished treatment with Dr. Rob, I was taken for a preliminary evaluation with Dr. Cody Meashaw for my shoulder. (Dr. Rob was moving geographically to the other side of the country and so I was unable to see him further.) I'm not sure what caused my shoulder issues to begin but I noticed the symptoms over several months as I trained for the Army 10 Miler. They started to become noticeably worse over time (I experienced pain when washing my back in the shower, turning the steering wheel of my car, reaching for my seatbelt and evening the simple act of pulling doors open. (Note, I was in pretty decent shape doing strength training, cardio, and swimming 3-4 times a week, but apparently, things just start to happen to your body as you get older due to aging if for no other reason :( It tooks several sessions to diagnose what was happening, but Dr. Meashaw was able to nail down the source of the pain and reasons as to why it might be occurring. I had an unstable shoulder which basically meant I had more flexibility and range of motion than most people which could cause any series of things to be happening with the nerves, muscles and ligaments that make up the extremely complex area known as the shoulder. Dr. Meashaw was excellent at explaining the anatomy of what was involved as well as providing and describing various exercises to improve overall strength in the region. As I got stronger, he prescribed progressively more difficult exercises that I could practice on my own at the gym. Since completing treatment with Dr. Meashaw, I have made a full recovery and am starting to run again on the treadmill as well as restart strength training. Because I was able to benefit so much from the therapy, I recommended my 74 year old mom also go for treatment of her "frozen shoulder" or more appropriately adhesive capsulitus. She has been going for several weeks as of this review to see Dr. Helene Strange. Dr. Strange was also able to provide thorough explanations of the anatomy surrounding my mom's pain points, what was going on in that area, and what the treatment was intended to alleviate. Through a combination of in office treatment and exercises to be practiced at home, my mom has seen a dramatic improvement to the range of motion in her shoulder. Not only are the doctors and therapist staff friendly and knowledgeable at PST, but so are their "back office" team. My mom was a bit confused as to the type of insurance coverage she has (a Medicare PPO Plan--not the same as Medicare), but a staff member who specialize in insurance matters was able to contact me and provide a thorough explanation of my mom's benefits, coverage, and responsibilities. One of the goals that the doctors seem to reiterate at the office is that they don't want to see you there as a patient any more for none other than because you've made a full recovery. I'm appreciative of that saying and can state that I have made a full recovery, but I do miss working with that team. What I really like about the culture and philosophy of the doctors at Source Physical Therapy is that they genuinely look to cure you of what ails you without invasive measures such as surgery which were recommendations made to me by other "specialists" I've seen in the past. They also have a pragmatic approach of suggesting multiple treatment methods--continuing with what produces measurable results and discontinuing courses of treatment that do not. I highly recommend Source Physical Therapy & Wellness!! I was having chronic knee and hip pain, which was preventing me from working out, so my Primary Care Physician referred me to Source Physical Therapy. Source Physical Therapy and their amazing staff were able to diagnose the problem and come up with P.T. plan that healed the pain and allowed me to get back on my workout regime!! I first met with Cody and then continued working with Ashley. Both were amazing!! They were highly knowledgeable and competent, and exceptionally caring and patient. I had gone to another P.T. provider a few years back, for the chronic knee pain, and quite frankly, I can hardly remember the experience except for the fact that it did not work/cure my pain. That's how insignificant it was. I highly recommend this practice. I have been working with Cody for about 14 months now and could not be more pleased with my results. I have had 5 knee surgeries, the first 4 I completed PT in another area so I didn't work with Source. This surgery was hands down the most difficult recovery process and I couldn't have done it without Cody's persistence. We had many obstacles to work through during the 14 month recovery period but Cody was on top of it every time. He always seemed to figure out what my problem was and knew how to fix it. Source seems to take a little different approach and really spends more 1 on 1 time then any of the other therapy practices I have gone to in the past. This gave me time to tell Cody how I'm feeling, whats bothering me, etc so he could really monitor me and make sure I'm on the right path. On top of all that, the staff at Source was always so enjoyable to interact. Over all, I couldn't be more pleased with how Cody and the rest of the Source PT team have handled my case and thanks to them I am able to get back to sports and doing what I love. read more

I came to Source Physical Therapy & Wellness after dealing with a mysterious back/abdominal pain for over four months. I'd seen a total of six doctors and specialists, including another physical therapist, and been through extensive imaging and testing for both gastrointestinal and musculoskeletal issues before coming here, all without successful diagnosis. I worked with Rebecca, and right away she confirmed my suspicion of an intercostal muscle strain and got to work. I began feeling the difference after only a couple sessions. Working with Rebecca and Mary over the last several weeks, my pain levels have decreased dramatically and I feel better equipped to address and prevent similar pains and strains in the future. They've both been very attentive, observant, and knowledgeable. I can't say enough good things about them. I am so thankful to have found Source PT a number of years ago in Arlington. There, they completely resolved numerous injuries, frozen shoulders, badly broken wrist, and neck issue. Fast forward to 2020, I started attending the wonderful, clean with safety protocols in place, new office in Falls Church. I had bilateral knee replacement in late Feb, just before things closed for COVID. The early hands-on visits put me in a good direction. Then, the virtual visits were crucial to keeping me in a good direction until I was able to resume in-person. All therapists are extraordinary, knowledgeable, pleasant, and attentive. The insightful advice for maintenance that they provide is also a game changer. I have made visible progress ever visit and every week. Over four months in, I'm walking normally, have great ROM, no pain, and am able to work and workout. I can't say enough about how excellent this practice is! read more

Dr. Erin McGraw, Mary and the rest are all terrific. I strongly recommend this place, I have had some serious knee and foot problems in the last year - patellar tendon rupture and a partial tendon tear in my foot. The patellar tendon rupture resulted in a full leg cast and when the cast was taken off, the leg was almost completely stiff. Working with Dr. Erin McGraw and the other fine people at Source has restored my mobility to nearly 100%! The issue in my foot was more complex. One well known orthopedic surgeon suggested surgery to repair a tendon, but Erin thought this was not consistent with what she saw and recommended a second opinion. The second orthopedic surgeon indeed agreed with her and this was then confirmed by an MRI. I needed to wear a boot for 4 weeks and do some PT, but no surgery. Things are coming along fine now and I hope to return to running in a month or so. Thanks Erin! read more

After a lower back injury, my doctor recommended PT and referred me to Source Physical Therapy. I was skeptical, having been to PT previously without much improvement. But I was desperate and decided to give it another shot. I liked my physical therapist Rebecca right away. She listened very well, asked great questions about my symptoms and lifestyle and devised a treatment plan that I understood and could commit to. I started to get better by the end of the first week. My treatment evolved over the weeks as I got stronger and now my back pain is minimal most days. What's even better is that now I have the tools to help myself whenever my back starts to act up. Thanks to the professional, friendly, caring staff at Source Physical Therapy, my tennis elbow is nearly gone and I am back to playing tennis. My physical therapist, Cody (and initially Mike), uses a hands-on approach, massaging my arm at each session and determining the best course of stretching and strengthening exercises to do on my own. Each week, we adjusted my exercises as I became more flexible and stronger. They were focused on getting me back on the tennis court and were really nice. Marium or Tasi also worked with me at each session to ensure that I was doing my exercises correctly and provided encouragement. I was always greeted in a friendly way, seen on time, and scheduling appointments/managing insurance was done efficiently. What sets Mike and Source PT apart from other places is: 1) The focus on hands on therapy heals the body (instead of simply heat or ice or other modes that you can do yourself at home) 2) They teach you about your body and proper mechanics to prevent future injuries 3) Staff is warm and caring and friendly 4) Mike and team will answer an infinite number of questions from "what are the odds of a recovery" to "how does xyz med work" to "what the heck does this MRI mean?" and so on (no where else have a found such support) 5) The offices are open and light 6) The parking is free 7) Scheduling appointments is easy either thru the lovely Claudia at the front desk or by calling. After stubbornly not dealing with an injury for a very long time I finally gave in and went to my doctor who sent me to Source PT. Now I ask myself, why on earth did I wait so long?! The team at Source is knowledgeable, caring, and just terrific to work with. I had the lucky fortune of being placed with Dr. Helene Strange. Dr. Strange listens, observes, and then tailors her manipulations, exercises, and homework to each specific need and body. I came in with significant pain and loss of mobility and left three months later doing many of the things that I had not been able to do in a very long time. I was going to another physical therapy practice for my partially torn rotator cuff and found them to be unprofessional. They had a "no pain, no gain" approach to PT and I was concerned about their methods, since they sometimes caused lingering pain. I'm so glad I switched to Source! Dr. Helene Strange realized I was having nerve problems and is addressing that, so I'm experiencing much less pain. I've made significant strides in only about seven sessions and now feel confident in my PT plan. Helene, Ashley and Kimberly are a joy to work with! The staff is professional, upbeat and caring. I just turned 60 and after years of off and on knee pain, I was having trouble with stairs, let alone exercising. I thought I needed an orthopedist, but my doctor said to try physical therapy. I am so glad I did. It was my first time at PT, and I loved Source. I am able to jog without pain now. I did my homework, which was easy because I got good instruction from Dr. McGraw and Mary. The atmosphere is friendly and supportive, and I liked that the therapists understood that I wanted to keep jogging if I could and helped me work toward that goal. Dr. Erin McGraw is fantastic! I have seen significant gains in my knee stability and leg strength since seeing her. I've had several PTs at different places over the years related to my knee issues, but Dr. McGraw is my favorite! I had double quadriceps tendon repair and with both legs out of action have needed extensive PT. The practice and individual therapists are wonderful--because of vacations, I have been treated by all four. But Rebecca has been outstanding: patient, encouraging, challenging as needed. I had a really great experience at this Physical Therapy practice. They addressed all of my concerns regarding my neck problem. I worked with a couple of the physical therapists due to scheduling.
