    Katsudonburi - chicken
    Katie R.

Came here for a quick dinner before a party at a bar across the street. They do have AYCE sushi, but we were looking for a smaller meal so we opted for the Katsudonburi and 3 Amigos roll. Food came out super quick and service was very friendly!

    Very yummy line of nigiris!

My friends and I went to Izakaya Yoki on a Friday night around 7 p.m., and the restaurant was pretty busy (pro tip: I'd recommend parking at the SFMTA Sutter garage, which is only about $5 per hour). In total, we spent about two hours at Yoki with their AYCE menu. Ambiance aside, the food was good! I can't say the appetizers were amazing (the karaage tasted frozen, and the agedashi tofu was just okay--if anything, get the takoyaki!), but man oh man, the sushi was good. We ordered maybe 8-9 rounds of sushi, and the food came out pretty quickly. You can see a team of cooks assembling the sushi nearby, and my friend (who is a salmon fiend) praised the quality of their salmon nigiri. My favorites were the Surrender and the Double Salmon, but hey, it's AYCE... go wild. (Just don't get the fried sushi!) Now, if I factor in the ambiance, Yoki drops maybe half a star. It didn't bother me too much, but geez, the restaurant is warm. YMMV depending on when you go, but we were surprised there was no AC or fan (though this didn't impact the sushi quality). They did have their sliding doors open though, which let in some air, but construction and traffic from outside made it hard to hear any music or conversations. Overall, I'd give Yoki a solid 4.5/5. For an AYCE spot in SF, you really can't go wrong, and we'll definitely be coming back.

Pretty good value at $40 per person! The restaurant was pretty full at 6:15 on a Saturday, but we managed to get seated right away at one of the few remaining empty tables. As far as AYCE sushi goes, this was pretty good - nothing in particular was a standout, but the baseline quality of all the fish was pretty high (no off scents or tastes, feeling pretty good six hours after eating), and the overall speed of service was great, given that you have 90 minutes with a final call at 20 minutes left. Across two people, we ended up ordering about a dozen rolls and a dozen orders of carpaccio, alongside several appetizers. The fried scallops were pretty unique, and really nice; the chicken karaage I would probably swap out in the future. The seared rolls were quite good (we got three orders of the Lucky 7). Overall, the rolls are somewhat heavier in mayo (and many also has shrimp tempura), but the flavors were quite nice, and most importantly, the fish tasted fresh throughout. For anyone looking for more fish (without rice), I would recommend doing several orders of the carpaccio. My only complaint is that the amount of rice in each roll wasn't super consistent, with some pieces having double the rice of others. All that said, this definitely hits the spot for an AYCE craving! I know I'll be back the next time I'm yearning for a copious amount of sushi.

when I used to live in Nob Hill, this was my favorite spot to go to. I honestly used to go by myself because I've been there so many times and these servers started to know my usual orders. Lol my favorites were the carpaccio's and the spicy rolls. I also really like having some appetizers with the meal like miso soup and house salad. For 40 bucks, you can easily annihilate 4 to 5 roles and be decently full and well rounded by the end of the date or night. The drink options are great supporting role for a lot of sushi and I would highly recommend the beer to counteract all the food that you're gonna eat.

Food (5/5): Izakaya Yoki is, without a doubt, my favorite AYCE sushi spot in SF, and it isn't even close. The quality is extremely solid considering it's AYCE, and I love that they even offer sashimi/carpaccio options. Additionally, the menu has a pretty wide variety of items including a solid izakaya menu and tons of rolls to choose from if you're more into that than nigiri/sashimi. Ambiance (4/5): Solid place, not too fancy but not too run-down. It's a good in-between and a good choice for a casual meal. My only complaint here is that the service can be a bit hit-or-miss. I've had days where they forgot to bring out orders (not a huge deal since it's AYCE but still) or it just takes a while to get your food if they're particularly busy. Value (5/5): If you're craving AYCE and have a big appetite, you can easily make this worth it. It's an extremely good price point for the quality of sushi that you're getting. Overall: Definitely check them out! You won't regret it.

This place was fantastic. Grab a big group of friends and try everything you can, and make sure to line up early. The large and spacious interior quickly fills up with customers and bustling energy once the restaurant opens. Do keep in mind that after 60 minutes, they cut you off (so you can't order up to the full 90 min mark)!! Out of everything my table ordered (for this meal, I just sat back and enjoyed the fruits of my companions' ordering labor), the poke chips and white dragon roll were my favorites (with the best/ most diverse texture and flavor combinations), though everything was truly delicious. I'd love to return.

Chose the AYCE option. I noticed they've removed the premium menu but adjusted the base AYCE price to what used to be the premium tier, which feels like a quiet price increase (previously about a $5 upcharge). The rice was underseasoned in my opinion, which affected several dishes. The sushi selection is both extensive and limited--there are many roll options, but they tend to be rice-heavy and filling, with fewer lighter options that highlight the fish. That said, the fish itself tasted fresh. Ordering is done online with a timer that limits how much you can order at once, requiring a wait between rounds. While this does slow the pace of the AYCE experience, the service itself was attentive and efficient.

All you can eat downtown SF. Probably the only one in the city that is convenient. It's $30ish for 2 hours of acye. You order on the iPad on each table. The service is pretty fast even on busy nights. The staff comes over to refill water and make sure you are well taken care of. The food is pretty decent. My favorite was the wasabi octopus 10/10 and the tempura shrimp. The ambiance is casual dinning.

Wow this was the best AYCE I've been to but can't say i've been to very many recently. Walk in around 8pm and only a 5-10 min wait thru Yelp waitlist which was only on-site check in. The place is pretty spacious and clean. There is a tablet to order from. And they have a wide variety of appetizers, rolls, nigiri, carpaccio, salads, and alcohol (extra cost). My favs were the Yoki salad (dressing so tasty), lion king roll, agedashi tofu and the shrimp mayo lemon appetizer. Their nigiri weren't bad, a decent amount but not as high quality as the high end sushi places. Would skip the chicken karage, the buttered corn(too much butter) , spicy edamame (too spicy), The rainbow roll was decent and hamachi kama as well. Service is so fast and didnt feel rushed at all. Had almost an hour left lololol. Would def recommend and wouldnt mind coming back.

My friends and I came for the AYCE and had a great time! Honestly I cant even list all the food we ordered, but the standout was the tako wasabi, baby scallop nigiri, and any roll. I preferred most of the special rolls to the other nigiri pieces/regular rolls. The carpaccios were okay and not the highest quality, but good considering it was AYCE! The chirashi bowl had a bit much rice, so I hope they provide a bit less rice in proportion to the fish given. Definitely order the baby scallop nigiri -- we had several of those and found them to be super fresh! The atmosphere was really nice for a group of friends and the waiters/waitresses were super attentive and nice. They serve the food very quickly after the order is submitted. Just a note that after you order for one category, you cannot order for another 10 minutes, which honestly was not a problem for our table. We will definitely come again!

before I get into it, the food itself is incredible. story time coming up for why I took out a star. I will say, the place was packed and there were at least 3 parties of 6+ at the same time as us, but just want to warn others too. we got here about 7pm on a Monday. There's street parking (we found some up the block that's 2 hour parking until 10pm). There wasn't a line so we sat right away, they log you into the iPad on the table where you see the timer for 90 minutes count down. also, nigiri pieces need a 6 minute cool down in between rounds, there was no # limit to each round, though. we ordered a bunch of stuff to try. miso soup, even though it was during the random heat wave week of 80 degrees outside, nigiri pieces, appetizers, rolls, and even a small ramen. appetizers/others/ - sashimi salad: was just 3 pieces of fish with gochujang and lettuce. I needed the salad aspect, though - miso soup: definitely a white/shiro based miso, tofu was a great plus - ramen: *story time* I ordered this at the same time as the miso soup. I didn't get it for 40 minutes - after all the fish and other foods I was at that point in AYCE where I could have left but would want a sweet treat after/not been AS satisfied, but if I still got the ramen I wouldn't leave super full either. so at the end of the rounds I asked for that and the last 2 pieces of nigiri that I ordered and they all came at the same time - ramen was incredible though. menma (bamboo shoot), kamaboko (pink and white fish cake), and soft slurpable noodles. it was the PERFECT ending to my AYCE even if it came last. - agedashi tofu: definitely my weakness, but it was softer tofu that I was expecting. it kept slipping from my chopsticks. delicious and light sauce. - tempura: my boyfriend liked this. I didn't get to observe aside getting the picture before he ate them, though. - tuna carpaccio: this was also a few pieces of fish with a vinaigrette and leaves nigiri, many were tried but a few stood out: - bluefin tuna: it was good, we ordered this a few times - salmon: was okay, a big piece, though - jalapeno yellowtail: a little tougher in texture but still good. smaller piece of fish - seared tuna/seared salmon: boyfriend said these were his favorite, also ordered a few times - lemon salmon: was okay - avocado salmon: great! biggest piece of salmon, definitely ordered the most rolls: - lion king - dragon - rainbow - bay bridge ^ my boyfriend ate that whole 4 stack by himself while I tried to patiently wait for my ramen - for future visits/warning, just order your rolls early while you also wait for the nigiri 6 minute timer my order of rolls was the tuna lover, chef's kiss. delicious all around. I'll be honest, the ramen quality made up for the time I waited. and my boyfriend and I both keep asking when we'll be back. between the two of us plus a sparkling water and tip it was about $110. in the city?? crazy concept.

Came here last Friday for AYCE before going to a concert nearby. The restaurant was pretty full when we arrived around 6:15pm, but there was no wait. Decoration inside was simple and basic, but we came here for the value and food quality, not for the ambiance. As we didn't come to SF often, it's interesting to see so many Waymo's through their large windows. Ordering from the iPad was very straightforward, and there's a countdown at the top showing how much time was left. The 90-min limit was more than enough time and we didn't feel rushed at all. They offered a lot of options under quite a number of different categories. We weren't even close to the limit under each category, and we didn't have to wait at all before placing another order. The food came out quickly and service was friendly and efficient. I liked that their sashimi, nigiri and rolls were smaller than what you'd get normally so that we could try more varieties. Quality was not bad for AYCE. The fish to rice ratio was on point, and everything tasted fresh and delicious. It's $40 per person, and we got 10% off paying cash. For the two of us, we ordered: Starters: cucumber salad, miso soup, agedashi tifu Nigiri: bluefin tuna, unagi, baby scallops, seared tuna, seared salmon, seared yellowtail, tamago Special rolls: dragon, rainbow, surrender, yoki Torched roll: lion king My favorites were the baby scallop nigiri (we had encores), Yoki rolls, and lion king rolls. We had a satisfying and enjoyable meal, felt content and not stuffed. Would come here again if we're in the area.

We had dinner here before a concert at the Masonic theater. I typically steer away from all you can eat places because a) I don't want the temptation/incentive to continue to stuff food down my gullet, and b) the quality usually doesn't match what you'd order from a non-all-you-can-eat place. But we were very pleasantly surprised. The ordering process, by category, from the tablet mounted at each table was super easy, and the selection was really excellent. The taste and food quality were really quite good - nothing that screamed buffet or all you can eat quality. The food came pretty quickly and the portion sizes were a little on the smaller side, but that's totally appropriate to avoid waste and allow sampling of more items at an all-you-can-eat place. Like the special rolls - good number of pieces, but the girth of the rolls was more like a standard roll or midway between a tekka/kappa maki and a California roll. We were totally happy with the way things worked. We also ordered a bunch of nigiri too and they had a modest (in a good way) portion of rice (so you don't stuff yourself with starch) and a medium sized piece of fish. It was smart sizing and you can always order more if desired. We ordered a fair amount of food, all pictured, and felt full and satisfied, but not stuffed after. We had a good 25-30 minutes left on our 90 minute timer when we were done. The decor/ambiance was fine, nothing special, but nothing that took away from the experience. We'd definitely come here again and would recommend it especially to young hungry people who love sushi and don't have to worry as much about calories as us older folks,

This cozy spot mainly focuses on katsu plates, but I like how they had off menu or specials to choose from if you'd like another option. I will say though them katsu plates were just chef's kiss. The meat is pounded thin enough where it's still juicy and tender, but doesn't affect the exterior from being crunchy and a bit flaky. Nothing was dry here yallll! Think of a citrusy flavor from the ponzu, fresh fish, a bit of micro greens, and a thin slice of jalapeño that just ~works~ on a cute wooden spoon that you want to steal I could honestly eat like 5 spoons of this. I'd skip on the calamari as it was kind of skimpy to share with a large group. Only note was that their fried katsu curry was a bit underwhelming with having more slices of carrots than potato! The service was amazing and they were very attentive. They also offered to take photos and gave us a little gift of hojicha tea since we were celebrating. We got the omakase, which was massive and had 18 courses. They gave us a menu so we knew what to expect for each course, and we ordered some sake. The omakase was delicious and more traditional than other places, each course was so beautiful and delicately made. This is definitely a lot of food, I would recommend the petite omakase in the future as I was stuffed, but it was a great experience if you come hungry! Courses: - Chawan-mushi - super tasty and every bite was delicious and umami forward! - Otsumami - 7 seasonal appetizers presented in a beautiful box, there was a stuffed crab claw in there that was delicious - 4 kinds of sushi - each piece came out one at a time, the first piece was my absolute favorite and blew me away, it was a seared chutoro that immediately melts in your mouth and tastes smokey - Hamachi soup - very tasty and warming soup with hamachi inside, was perfect in between the sushi course - 4 kinds of sushi - A5 Waguyu shabu - this course was extra $10 pp but was so delicious, the wagyu was melt in your mouth and had some grated daikon on top in a ponzu dashi, the toppings help balance the meat so it's overwhelming since it does melt in your mouth, one of my favorite bites! - 4 kind of sushi - they brought out some really great sushis, including more chutoro and an unagi handroll, but I was so stuffed at this point that I felt I couldn't enjoy it as much - miso soup - this soup was so tasty and kind of revived me after all that food, it felt comforting and a great way to end - dessert- I got the hojicha ice cream in a waffle like cookie and it was delicious!

YUMMMM. I don't have ramen often but after coming here I've been craving more ramen. We waited in…read morethe long line for about 30-40 minutes. It was worth it! Once we got closer to the front, the host came by to hand us menus so we knew what to order as soon as we were seated. The restaurant is pretty small so the dining experience feels a little hectic. If you're looking for a calm, relaxing place to eat, I wouldn't say this is the place. It's sort of an "in and out" situation. I ordered the spicy G.K.O. So so delicious. The flavors really jump out at you. The broth is so cozy and smooth. The portion was decent and the ingredients felt proportional. My boyfriend ordered the vegan Miso. He's not a huge fan of ramen and he actually finished his bowl. He gave it a big thumbs up.

I was in SF one afternoon and decided to kill an hour by waiting in their line. I showed up at 3.10 PM and there was no line, I stood anyway and later the line built up behind me. Place is not the safest, I saw some folks trying to open the parked cars on that street hoping to find one that was unlocked . Not all folks who made it before their 4 PM opening managed to get a table in the first round. The place only seats around 20 people or so and they have a mandatory requirement that each person has to order a bowl of ramen. We got the following *enoki chips: 3/5: salty, limp, greasy to the point of floating in a pool of oil. *vegan tantanmen-2.5/5- disappointed by this one. Had better vegan ramen at several other establishments. The version here has two dominant flavors- extremely smoky and bitter. The kale didn't help as well. The enoki chashu was interesting though, had the texture of meat. *classic toripaitan-4.5/5- this was good and I can see why it got the awards. Had a rich and deep taste of chicken. All the elements helped elevate the bowl. *spicy lamb miso cumin-4/5- the flavors of cumin and lamb just shone through here. If you enjoy the flavor of lamb get this. The fried eggplant was epic in this dish. Overall, not worth the wait, the vegan ramen can be avoided unless you are a vegan. Get the classic toripaitan as that was the best.
