My AC went out the Sunday before Memorial Day. I called everywhere and since it was a holiday weekend, I got no answer. Talk about a long night in the heat. I came across Izzy's information on Yelp and gave it a shot. Talk about a life saver. He showed up on Memorial Day and did not charge me any kind of extra crazy fees. He had the parts on hand, and fixed the issue in less than 30 minutes. He really bailed me out before this heat wave hit. He was prompt and efficient. His prices were very reasonable, and he was professional. If you're worried about COVId precautions, he followed them as well. Izzy also offered preventive maintenance for my AC unit. He returned a few days later and serviced the unit. This included changing filters, cleaning the filter grates, going into the attic and cleaning out all the lines, and cleaning and inspecting the unit outside. The preventative maintenance ran me $150. Considering the amount of work he did, I would say it is well worth it. Especially to be climbing into the attic in 100 plus degree heat. Honesty, integrity, attention to detail, fair, hard working, finishing quickly, and doing a superb job are not common characteristics in all the contractors I have hired over the years. Izzy Heating and Air Conditioning came with the whole package. The "spec" ducting that came with the house was not efficient, and especially when it came to air conditioning - the kids rooms never cooled down in summer. After receiving a referral for HVAC contractor from a friend to take a look at the problem, Izzy came through with 1) an explanation of the problem with pictures, 2) a plan for what needed to be done to correct the problem, 3) an estimate that was far below the other two estimates I received. Izzy set aside 2 days for the projected, shared "before" and "after" pictures of the ducting, and explained the changes he made. He took temperature reading downstairs and in the kids bedrooms which were within one degree. I was pleased with the service, cost, clean-up, and how quickly the job was completed - 1 long day. Being in the trade over 30 years and retired now, I new we hired the right contractor for the job. Not knowing I was in the trade I started asking Izzy how he was going to install a A/C split system. After a good discussion on how he was going to install it, from hanging the unit in the attic, material on insulation of the plenums, charging the unit with Freon, and how he was going to set the condenser outside. I contacted Izzy through a referral and left a message on a Saturday and within minutes, he contacted me. We needed to replace our furnace, evaporator coil, and AC condenser. I sent him a few pictures of the old unit and attic area and he gave me a very reasonable quote over the phone. Wednesday came and Izzy and his crew arrived earlier than expected which we really appreciated. Within literally 20 minutes, they had the old furnace removed from our attic through a 29" x 29" access hole. They wasted no time! Izzy ran into a couple of problems, one was that he needed to replace the power wire from the condenser all the way back to the furnace but they had trouble snaking the new wire through the existing route. Izzy managed to figure out another internal route without violating our condo's exterior policy. The other problem Izzy fixed was that the existing copper refrigerant lines were severed at the condenser. To fix those lines, he had to make the hole bigger on the stucco to gain access to the copper lines and braze in new lines. He even fixed and covered up the hole and painted it with matching paint. Izzy and the crew finished the job before 5 pm which I thought was impressive even with the problems they encountered. With the air conditioner installed, our place is now very comfortable for us and especially for our 10 month old baby who has chronic health issues. Izzy literally went the extra mile with our project: One, he gladly took on the project even though we were about 70 miles away from his office, and two, he did not charge us extra even though he ran into problems that he didn't expect. Izzy is the real deal! He is the utmost professional with integrity and honesty. He does what he says and walks the talk!!!
