Took my shoe in to get the tongue fixed... well the tongue is sewn somewbat and apparently some glue seeped through and he said "its not going to hurt anything." I honestly felt like crying on my way home because these shoes mean a lot to me and I felt like theyre in worse condition than what I brought in.

It's a cold snowy day and Tim is open for business.

What a nice guy who owns this place. I came in with a broken shoe and three belts that needed extra holes. He punched holes in two of my belts and another one that was really big. He is fixing the buckle so the belt is a perfect fit rather than Having a big extra flap hanging off. I would've never thought that they could do that. Thank you for showing great service.. Definitely come see this guy if you have any leather Repair needs. He is super sweet in the real deal.

Shipped my boots to J&B for re-soling. He fixed them, polished them and mailed back with an invoice. Very individualized care.

    Do you take American Express?

No, this business is cash or check only.

Is this place still in business? I tried their phone number, but there was no outgoing voice message.

Yes. If fact I just called them since they are moving locations on Memorial Day weekend 2018 to 64th and Simms.

I was inspired to finally write this review because the sole of my shoe has since fallen clean off so my frustration is renewed. I'm no expert, but I don't think 6 months should be the lifespan of a shoe repair. I brought in a pair of oxford docs to be polished and resoled. Notably, there was a crack in the midsole that I requested they repair (I was hoping that they would replace the whole sole but literally just some glue would suffice). They charged me nearly 100 dollars, did not offer me a receipt, and told me they'd call me in about 2 weeks when they were finished. Two weeks came and went and they did not call. So I called them. They stated they did not have any shoes matching my description and asked for information from the receipt (which they never gave me!). Eventually they did find my shoes, but they took another week contact me again. When they did, they told me they had finished my shoes but used the wrong sole, so they would have to redo them. When I finally went in to pick them up, they had totally ruined the finish (gross, thick, gelatinous looking polish), didn't even resole the shoe. They had simply glued new treads on and entirely ignored the crack. I understand that docs can be tricky to resole properly but if they were not able to do what I asked for then they should have a) been up front and b) not charged me 100 dollars. I really regret not saying something....

I do not write reviews like this lightly, but my experience with JT Leather Crafter was poor enough…read morethat I feel obligated to warn others. I paid $80 for Jen to repair the handles on my bag. Within 28 days of receiving it back, the handles were already falling apart and began failing upon first use. Instead of using leather in the correct color, she used the wrong color and painted over it, which is not what one would expect from a professional repair. This was particularly upsetting because she charged me 25-50% more than the prices advertised on her website, citing increased material costs, and then proceeded to take shortcuts and use the wrong materials anyway. The issue was not limited to the quality of the work. The repair also took weeks longer than originally quoted. I was understanding about that delay because Jen said she was dealing with a personal emergency. But when the repair almost immediately began to fail, I requested a refund. She refused. Instead, she initially suggested that I drive the bag back to her home so she could attempt the repair again, which would have required over an hour of driving on my part. Since my husband and I are in the middle of a major move, this made that proposal particularly unreasonable. Only after I objected did she offer to cover shipping. By then, my confidence in her work was gone. I had no desire to send the bag back, and only agreed because I no longer had the time or energy to continue a completely unnecessary debate over an $80 repair that had already failed. What followed was an exhausting exchange in which she remained far more committed to defending her "policy" than to resolving a problem she had created. At one point in her extended messages, when I explained that I wanted a refund because having to go to the post office to send the bag back for another repair attempt would be very difficult, she responded, "I have nothing to do with your situation on moving to a different state." Later, she criticized me for not showing enough sympathy for her personal emergency, even though I had shown her nothing but understanding in my earlier messages. In fact, I had written, "I'm sorry you're dealing with so much right now and I completely understand. Please take care of what you need to, and whenever it's ready I'll come by and pick it up." What became clear is that Jen expects customers to extend grace and make allowances for her personal circumstances, but is unwilling to show the same consideration when someone else is in a difficult situation. During this exhausting back-and-forth, she repeatedly defended her refusal to refund the money, even though the repair had already failed. When I finally told her I was done discussing it, she continued messaging me until I explicitly asked her to stop. The most telling part of this experience was not just the poor workmanship. It was the complete unwillingness to take accountability afterward. Anyone can make a mistake. What matters is how they handle it when their work falls apart. In this case, the answer was excuses and refusal. Small businesses often ask customers to value craftsmanship and personal service. That cuts both ways. If you want people to support a small business, you also have to provide competent work and fair customer service. I did not receive either. The bag finally came back after Jen's second attempt to repair the handles, and, once again, the workmanship is subpar. The color is still wrong, and each handle was supposed to have a double leather strap--something I explicitly told her when I dropped the bag off. Instead, she only added a single leather strap to each handle. I would never use JT Leather Crafter again, and I would strongly encourage anyone considering leather repair in the Denver area to look elsewhere. I would rather pay someone else to redo the repair properly than deal with this business a second time. In summary, Jen's ethical failures are threefold: she accepted payment for a repair she did not actually deliver, she attempted to shield herself behind a policy that does not absolve her of responsibility for defective work, and then she shifted the cost and inconvenience of her own mistake onto me, the customer.

Jen was very responsive, and then suggested a creative way to fix the inside of a small clutch that…read moreaccompanied my leather purse. The purse also needed cleaning and repairs that were beautifully done. I am very happy! I appreciate the workmanship and thoroughness of her skills!

In April, I took my…read more20-year old red patent leather pumps to get new soles because the old ones were crumbling off. I chose to go here because of the good cobbler reviews and the location was convenient. I picked them up 5 days later and when I got home saw that significant damage had been done to the uppers of my shoes and the soles that had been applied were already coming off and were smeared onto the bottom of the shoe. Even the heel caps were unsecured. The damage to my shoes had been covered in red shoe polish, which came off when I touched it. I was devastated. These shoes were a gift from my husband early in our relationship and are my favorite. They are not replaceable and have high sentimental value. I called the store and they did acknowledge that they knew something had happened to the shoes, but didn't tell me. They gave me the cobbler's information and I left him a message. When we talked on the phone he said he had sanded the upper because it had gotten some of the old sole on it and then covered it up with the polish. He said he could make it right. I went back to the store and talked to the cobbler in person. At this point, I didn't have a lot of trust in his judgment given that he didn't fix the original damage when it happened and didn't tell me what had happened. After a bit of back and forth, I asked for a refund. He said the owner would cut me a check. I also asked for compensation for fixing and/or replacing my shoes, but he insisted he could fix it. Given the lack of judgment and lack of honesty and accountability, I refused. I had to follow up with The Cleaners twice about the refund check only to find out that they had directly credited my original form of payment, but no one communicated with me about any of it. I ended up taking the damaged shoes to Dardano's in the hopes that they could repair the damage and they were amazing. I should have gone there in the first place (they were appalled at what had happened to my shoes). I cannot recommend Frank the cobbler here at The Cleaners and suggest extreme caution depending on what you need.

I couldn't find any clear resources on how to fix this myself, and local tailors said they couldn't handle luggage repair, but recommended asking a cobbler. I found Mr Shine on Google and called ahead to see if they repair luggage, and then dropped off the next day. I was informed that they could try to replace the slider & pull, but that it may not be possible given some damage to the zipper, and they would keep me updated. Because they were unsure of the possible repair, I didn't have to pay anything at drop off (I really appreciated their transparency!). I got a call a few days later that the suitcase was fixed, and they were able to do the cheaper option after all. At pickup, the zipper teeth were straight, there was a leather reinforcement added to the end of the track, and the slider and pull were new and moved around smoothly. Their team is clearly skilled at what they do, especially for a repair that seemingly no other business wants to touch! They have beautiful handmade shoes on display in the store as well. The staff were kind and helpful both in person and over the phone. Definitely recommend for shoe, luggage, handbag repair & more!
