I went to Pure on the recommendation of three childhood friends who still live here. They ALL said to go to Pure. I grew up in Decatur and left for grad school many years ago. I recently returned after living in four states during my career. I have always had three criteria when I make a move to a new location, and they have served me well. Find: 1. A Doctor you can relate to and trust. 2. Someone who gives a great haircut. 3. An auto mechanic you can trust and who does great work. I've found #3 in Decatur Pure Station. After my early check-in, I sat in the waiting area for about two hours, watching and listening to the manager interacting with customers. My observations? Friendly, matter-of-fact, clear. Andy explained everything going on with his client's cars. He made recommendations, and more importantly, noted what didn't need to be done. He gave accurate representations about when services would be completed. For my car, he got the part quickly and told me they had looked over the whole car and only found one repair that needed to be made (besides my originating situation). He was accurate in his honesty, because I already knew I was needing a new rear brake job in the next month. While my car was being repaired, I walked around downtown Decatur. I reacquainting myself with some old, and mostly new, businesses and restaurants. I arrived back at the repair shop in the mid-afternoon, just after they finished repairing the car. Andy explained everything they did, and gave me a very fair price for the service I received. Am I ever glad to have found Pure. Five Stars, and even higher.

Fortunately, it didn't break the paint. Out of the several people I contacted for estimates, Elijah was 1 of 2 people that even contacted me back. The other guy was more expensive, and I would have had to go to his shop. Elijah came to my house the next day after contacting him and did an amazing job making my car look like it had never even happened. Interior / Exterior The exterior seemed clean and I didn't venture inside. They are in that little building formerly occupied by Community of Faith Church, Not sure what's down the road that runs alongside the spot, but when I got ready to leave there were tons of cars extending back down the street. Luckily, a friendly motorist waved me in so I was able to pull out fairly quickly. Customer Service Ben was nice. Chatty and pretty aggressive sales wise. It didn't bother me at first, because I'm from the country but he is definitely very informal with his customers. I can't get mad because he definitely told me about some discounts I wouldn't known about otherwise - but I'm warning you to be prepared for him to REALLY try to get you to buy some windshield wipers. I explained to him, when I called yesterday, that I was on a budget because I inherited some vehicles that could not yet be sold due to probate and I was dealing with having to pay insurance and keep them tagged and titled. Their regular non-discounted price at this location is currently $20. Ben said the other locations, like Atlanta Rd are $25. I also like the fact that there is no surcharge if you're using plastic to pay. But what I didn't love is that I told him 4 separate times that I wasn't interested in purchasing wipers because I don't even drive this car. Then when I looked the blades up on Amazon, Dekra's RainEx blade price was $11 higher ($22 total). He would not let up. He kept on about how quick it would be, how he hated to see a $100K vehicle with crappy blades and how it really pissed him off. When I told him that I didn't think blades were even visible, he said he always notices blades. When that didn't work - he beat me over the head with the fact that he'd given me a discount on the emissions test AND he was willing to nearly match the Amazon price on the blades. Honestly, I felt guilt-tripped and I was ready to get the heck out of there because I had two more vehicles to get done, so I just said ok. Keep in mind, once I got all 4 vehicles tested, I had to spend over $1800 at the tag office because one of these cars is apparently NOT depreciating like normal. Laughing / crying emoji. I respect the hustle and I'm sure Ben is a nice guy, but I definitely felt the sales thing was way to aggressive. For that reason alone, I wound up taking the other two cars elsewhere. See other reviews. Price Value I already mentioned the $20 regular price but it might change to $25 in the future according to Ben (to match the other Dekra centers). Deliberately not mentioning my discounted price, but be sure to ask whether they have any military or first responder discounts. Personally, I feel like they will keep the $20 price because Austell Emissions (4612 -3 Austell Rd), located right next door on the other side of the tag office charges $18 for cash / $18.72 for card and Lincoln Emissions (4968 Austell Rd) charges $18 as well. Fuerza Latina Insurance (4788 Austell Rd) also charges $18. Overall Overall, I would go back - but only when I know Kimberlee or another associate is gonna be there. Ben is too hard to refuse / say no to. Lol.
