They then revealed that there would be "extra charges" for almost all the work I requested, work that was included in their estimate! They wanted another $1800, almost doubling the cost of the job. I offered them a compromise, but they canceled the job at the last minute. Hero Home Pro LLC is an unprofessional and unreliable company. They don't honor their estimates, and will pull a bait and switch. Avoid at all costs.

Recently, I requested a quote using the Yelp app from Better Tree Service of Myrtle Beach, SC. The…read moreproposed scope of work was to trim about 20 tall, very overgrown trees on our commercial property including branches against the building and on the rooftop. Robert Ahlborn, owner of Better Tree Service requested a phone call within 30 mins of my Yelp request. In that call, I described the scope work, location of work and requested that Robert stop by the job site to provide me with a quote to 1. trim trees along a paved path leading to the back of a commercial building; 2. trim trees near the back of the store near and around the loading dock; 3. trim the trees along around the building; and 4. trim all branches leaning against the building and off the rooftop. Within a few hours of our telcon, Robert provided copies of his local and county business licenses, photos of the proposed trees to be trimmed, a firm fixed price quote and proof of his insurance. Robert's FFP quote appeared very reasonable but I was waiting for a second quote. The second quote arrived the next day and was substantially higher priced. I award our work to Better Tree Service and Robert agreed to start and finish the proposed scope of work on day 3 (Saturday morning) Robert started and finished the trim trimming job a day sooner (Friday morning). Better Tree Service did an OUTSTANDING job trimming all trees he identified in his FFP quote, plus a couple of other trees. He trimmed enough of the tree branches away from the building and rooftop. Robert's crew removed all tree debris, push the excess dirt off of the paved path leading to the back of the building and completely blew the parking lot of any miscellaneous tree debris. Basically I just wanted grass to mow and be done with it. I also thought that it was time to replace the weed-laden garden that bordered my house with a nice rock border with a weed barrier underneath to keep it clear of invasive weeds. I called Robert Brown based on the great reviews he had on here and hoped for the best. I have had issues in the past with hiring handymen who either did shoddy work, or never finished the job after they convinced me to give them payment because of an urgent need. I decided this time I was going to hire a professional and not get fooled again. Rob showed up personally and listened carefully to what I had in mind and gave me a great price estimate which I only replied with "when can you start?" He showed up with his assistant Boo, and his mini Kubota tractor and digger and jumped right on re-configuring my front yard. They worked at an accelerated pace, and I could not believe how fast and professionally they accomplished their task at hand. Rob even made a few suggestions that made more work for himself, but refused to change the price, even though I offered to pay more. He said: "It's not about the money for me, I just want to make my customers happy." My neighbor came over to watch and was amazed at how fast they got the job done. Rob is a wizard with that tractor and even yanked out an impossible to get rid of crepe myrtle tree with ease! They finished the job by installing the rock border and replaced the border blocks I had from before to make a perfect job! The work was done quickly and professionally, everything was cleaned up and hauled away, and you could see the honest pride Rob took in his work as he showed my wife and me the finished project. I can't say enough about this man, Robert Brown. He is one thing that is extremely rare these days, a sincere man! What a pleasure, and an honor to have met him and his hard working assistant!
