I went into the shop for a colour and a cut. The colour was fine (black), but when I was asked how much I wanted cut, I was very specific in saying a good bit at the front, but NOT to take anything off at the back. The hairdresser said that was fine, but it could do with a very small cut. I told her fine, but only litterally take off millimeters, as I hate getting my hair cut at the back. No problem. As she was cutting, her colleague passed and happened to say `oh, all your locks on the floor`. This comment worried me a little, but since I had been very specific in my request, I thought that she was joking. I asked how much she`d actually cut and she said `almost nothing`. At this point her colleague was out with the sweeping brush and swept around me like there was no tomorrow. At the end of the cut, she showed me the result, but black hair over a black smock, it was impossible to check. I got home and all was fine until the next morning when I was in the shower and I was almost in tears. My hair was lovely and long, but now a good 8" had been cut off my hair was shoulder length. I am seriously considering legal action through the small claims court, as technically this is assault, and any money I`d win would be given to charity, it`s very much a principle for me. The long and short of it is, that I don`t know if she has a problem with men having long hair, or maybe she thinks she knows best, but if a customer says don`t do something you don`t do it. I thought the hairdressers in Ian Cameron were really nice! I had full head highlights and blow dry for my work night out tonight. I wasnt sure what to do with my hair, ie what colour to get but the girls were really helpful and talked me through it all and we decided on golden blonde highlights. I then had a blow dry with a curl which made me feel as my hair was lovely and bouncy! I was so pleased with the end result i will definitely be going back, and recommending to all my friends and family! The girls were really friendly and made me feel so welcome! The salon itself is a nice cosey setting very modern and lovely to be in. I felt so relaxed! All in all i had a very enjoyable experience in Ian Cameron. In contrast to the review I've just read, this is an excellent hairdressers. The staff are courteous and Jackie has over 30 year's experience in the industry and it truly shows. She cuts with confidence and listens to what you want. I used to get my hair cut in the City Centre and am so delighted that I have found a local hairdresser that beats city centre hairdressers hands down, both by quality of cut and value for money. I am always nervous when it comes to letting people cut my hair (bit of a weird phobia) but after trying out Ian Cameron a few years ago, with hair dresser Jackie, i am much more at ease. She has now cut my hair for the last few years and always does exactly what i ask and makes my hair look great! She is also really friendly and i would completely recommend this hairdressers. read more

I would have to totally disagree with the above comment! Which I may add is very rude.. I have been a client of Ian Cameron's for a few years now and I have nothing bad to say about the salon or the staff. Everytime I have been to the salon I have always had a pleasant experience and a very good haircut. I would give my local hairdressing salon 5 stars anyday! read more
