I thought I needed 13,000 square feet of sod to do a section of my yard…read more Contacted 4 different landscapers that all measured the areas quoted accordingly. Richard at Southern Sod grass was the only person that informed me that I had 10,500 square feet, not the 13k that I thought. He also told me that they would add 10 cubic yards of mulch to my lawn to make the top section of my lawn (clay) hold moisture better and help the roots to get established. No other installer mentioned this. After the crews did all the installation, Richard supplied the timers, hoses and sprinkler heads to insure my lawn received the correct amount of water. He set all that up for me. He came back a few days later and adjusted the timers and location of the sprinklers to do a better job of watering the entire portion of my lawn. He followed up at the 2 week mark to insure that everything looked good. My summary: Richard is the only person to quote my lawn that was honest about the size of my lawn. Being a sod grower, who would know more about installing and caring for sod grass than him? He told me that if there were any pieces of sod that did not perform well, he would replace them. I am already planning my late 2026 or early 2027 sod installation and Southern Sod grass will be the only call I will make. Job well done!
