I had the best breakfast here. It was my first time and I had the chorizo omelette with beans and hashbrowns. The chorizo was good with tasty avocado slices on perfect eggs. The bean were amazing. I think the bean are cooked with the chorizo and it made them perfect. I don't even like beans (in anything, ever) and I ate that plate clean. I even used my toast to scrape every bit of it up. Hash browns would have been perfect if cooked just a little bit longer for slightly more crisp ( but the hash brown sure set the bar). I'm not from this area, but as we were leaving the animal shelter we saw a homeless man named Moon asking for food. So my boyfriend pulled over and he bought him so food for him and his mom. We chose J&J Diner because it was right there. I thought it would resemble Johnny Rocket, but it is actually a sit down restaurant type of deal. Moon didn't want to eat inside so he got some food and left. My boyfriend and I decided to try the place. The employees are very kind and welcoming. They are helpful and assured we received everything we needed. I ordered the club sandwich and fries. The club sandwich was amazing as were the fries. The fries were crunchy and the sandwich was flavorful. I gave this place 4 stars because they need an upgrade on their tables and decor. From the outside, the restaurant doesn't look like much, but don't judge a book by its cover. The first time, I went through the drive-thru. Wasn't sure what to expect, but the good food made us want to go back. The following visits we've gone inside. The inside has a chill vibe, and they seem to be remodeling. The booths are comfy and not all torn up, and the place seems to be well cared for. Have dined here multiple times for breakfast and lunch, and the food is really good. Hamburgers, pastrami sandwich, fries (ohhh the fries... yumm), chicken fried steak and eggs, strawberry crepes, stuffed french toast... just some of the things we've tried. Took my very picky, foody relatives from out of town, and there were zero complaints. The waitresses are sweet and helpful. This has definitely become one of our go-to places to eat in Hemet. Breakfast does get a little busy, but we've never had to wait. read more

I ordered a delightful shrimp SALAD, ($12) and a glass of water and asked for bread with my salad. She brought me a dinner roll. The dinner roll was absolutely fine, I wouldn't travel for this dinner roll, (and there are places I would travel for a dinner roll, Covington Indiana, the Beef House.) But then I got the bill and was charged $4 for that dinner roll. Between the bread tax and tip my bill was $5 extra for simply A DINNER ROLL. Absolutely ruined my experience and I will never ever go back. I don't like people to STEAL from me. Maybe a buck, but not only should a dinner roll be complimentary if it's going to be an additional $4 she should have explained that up front. Very bland style, no decorations. Waited to be seated for 10 mins with plenty of tables open and no other parties waiting. 3 total servers for entire restaurant. Very extensive menu. When I come to visit my family in San Jacinto I have to say that this is my favorite place to eat. The food is worth the wait. The hamburgers and sweet potato fries with marshmallow dip are amazing. 100%, this place has the worst service ever! We walked in/checked in around 11:15, and did not receive our drinks for AN HOUR! I believe what happened was that there was a mixup in what server was going to serve our table. I kept asking the girl who originally took our order about our drinks, and she just said I'll get your server. It was super frustrating. Food finally came out, and it was okay. Farmer Boys across the street would've been a much better option honestly. Otherwise, I would not recommend this place unless you have at least 2 hours to kill. read more

We Received terrible customer service from April. First, we ask for a straw and right away she makes a comment of, you are killing the Turtles. I ignored that comment because that is her opinion. She has no idea why I need a straw. Then as my husband tells her his order of Liver and onions she says you guys are really doing her in. She can't stand the smell of Liver. Again we ignore another comment from her. After a very long wait to receive our food, which it was not crowded at all. She says oh here's your salads I forgot to bring you and your dinner is ready do you want it now or bring it after your salads. We said we will take them now. This was probably her way of getting back at us or something because our meal was cold. While we were eating we asked for a refill of water cups and we never received any more water. I should of asked for the manager but I figured it wouldn't do any good. They shouldnt have her dealing with customers. Either way, we just won't be going there again. read more

I've been going to this spot for years because they're ribs were always so good and tender, and it was a nice family diner. Today was very disappointing. First of all the waitress wasn't friendly or kind like at all. Her attitude was more like my family and I were a burden on her. The plate I got with the ribs came with green beans, a buttered roll and a baked potato. It used to be mixed veggies, like steamed broccoli and carrots which I loved. The waitress forgot to bring the buttered roll out so I had to ask her for it and it was a microwaved roll. The ribs were super dry and hard. The meat tasted like it was a couple of days old. I don't know if it's a new owner and a whole new set of employees or what, but it wasn't good at all. Also all the mixed drinks I was asking for I was told they didn't make there. Which that's something new too. Oh, and to top it off they were way over priced on everything!! Even the waffle my son got. Just one waffle was $9!!! read more

He told me of the review posted by Mini about how the burgers are okay and that it seems like a safe place to eat because of the number of police cars present during the evening hours. I looked up the review, and sure enough.. that's what it said. Well, from the perspective of a police officer (me), we do where to get good food.
