Inside a 19th century building, there are rows of food options for all the day's meals. However, unlike other food halls, there are only a few options. We came specifically for a Skagen toast lunch at Lisa Elmqvist but there was so much more there to explore and sample. Lots of varied price points, good for all budgets - but with a seeming emphasis toward higher quality options than you'd typically find in a food hall. And the grandeur of the hall itself was tough to forget. Meats, sandwiches, cheeses, seafood, drinks - lots of great quality options sold to-go, plus a few places for dine in, including Lisa Elmqvist. Awesome.

They did have a nice selection in terms of fresh produce, in many ways it felt like a farmers market and you could even make and ground your own almond butter through a machine but other than a small selection of this sort - there wasn't really much else which for a huge store was a little disappointing. I was disappointed with a lack of to-go food and stands here, making it different (and not in a good way) to similar department stores including Harrods, Marks and Spencer and Selfridges of London for example. I did find it hard to find a member of staff, compared to the rest of the store here. They didn't have a great gluten-free selection either in terms of products made gluten-free - it was non-existent. NK Saluhall doesn't compare to the main store sadly, but still, it deserves an extra star as it does offer some unique products in a nice way you can't get anywhere else in Stockholm.

They have plenty of space but most of the food sold here is not that interesting and the quality does not match the price. I am fine to pay extra when shopping in a nice food hall but this place lacks atmosphere, character and also offers nothing special. The only really good place here is the small Systembolaget store, they still have the old style set-up where you have to go the counter and tell them what you want and then they bring it to you. This is perhaps not in general preferred compared to browsing yourself but since they are knowledgeable here I do enjoy chatting a bit about wine with them. This food hall is also a mix of food hall and shopping mall as there are some 'normal' shops as well so there is the English Shop, a pharmacy, a optician and a few other stores but that just adds to the slightly confusing and unorganized feel of the place. I prefer going elsewhere.

The view out across the water is unbeatable, particularly on a sunny day. And last year, I would have given the market five stars, easy. It was absolutely packed with sellers, with everything from low-end to high-end clothing to toys and books and antiques and wooden phone cases and more. It took 45 minutes just to walk through, not even looking thoroughly at each table. This year, the selection seems weak. I know that each week it's different, but I've been to the market three times this year and each time I was disappointed. I used to always walk away with something new - a sweater or dress or shoes - but I haven't purchased anything this year. There simply aren't as many sellers. I think that one reason for this may be the new focus on food trucks. The food trucks were there last year as well, of course, but there weren't as many. Now it seems that the focus is just as much or more on the food than on the flea market. Now, this isn't a bad thing per se - the food trucks are fantastic. You can indulge in crepes, Jamaican, Mexican, or a traditional Swedish fika. But if you're hoping for a second-hand shopping bonanza, you may be disappointed.

Marknad is located at the street facing the water, so one can just sit near the shore with some nice snacks, enjoy the day and take it easy. Children, men and women. Babies clothes are hardly used and really cute. Price tags are SEK10-20 for baby clothing and around SEK50 for adults. Winter jackets and coats are SEK100-400. Shoes are clean and nice, some never used, SEK80. The shoes are not well worn. Most glass and china are SEK10-20. It is clean and perfectly ok.

Jamie W. and I passed by this one in a taxicab on our way to our hotel, which in my Rick Steves-hypnotized mind, meant we were walking back here to take our obligatory tourist photos. Now if you have been to a few dozen of these markets across Europe like I have, this is likely not the one that will top your list as there was a certain lack of vitality to the whole area. I'm guessing locals know better than to buy produce at the higher-than-norm prices offered here despite the constant caterwauling of the stall vendors. It's and open air market in Stockholm Sweden…read more During the week it's mostly fruits and veggies. I've read that there are also lots of cheap knockoff items during the week. Located on a random square just off an outdoor shopping mall -- it's not a formal mall just a main drag with lots of shops. On Sunday it's a mixed bag but mostly it's a #globaljunking paradise. Lots & lots of glassware. My theme for this outing was mostly spoons and a Sunny Boy Harmonica made in Germany. I didn't do a lot of negotiating -- the prices seemed fair. English was spoken well enough to close the deals. I arrived at around 10am; a late start in the junking world. I didn't spend too long there but I was surprised that vendors were still arriving to set up their stands. Not sure of this means everyone got a late start or if there are deals to be had at all hours of the day. I'd hit this market again if I'm ever back in Sweden.

There were lots of different cuisines offered but we ended up at Ankara Kebab. After placing our order we were given a tag with our order number. One of the staff helped us find a shared table and she later delivered our meal. Friendly and quick. We shared the Ankara mix plate with rice and a a mixture of lettuce, tomato and sliced onions. The kebabs had a different taste with the seasoning used but meats were moist and tender. Reasonable prices and good tasting food.
