There are two areas to the pub. We opted to sit in the area near the windows where it was quieter. Service was prompt since it wasn't busy. Of course, when in Philly we must try the Philly Cheese Steak with provolone cheese. The fries were well cooked and the cheese steak was huge. I'm glad we only ordered one to split. This side of the pub doesn't have draft beer so only cans are available. Also, water and other fountain drinks are only available bottled. Since we had a long layover we hung around to watch college football. Unfortunately they were unable to switch the channel. In fact, what ended up on the TV was Philly baseball. Oh well.

This was an excellent place to watch an Eagles playoff game, and make friends at the same time. I sat at the bar, and looked on with envy as people around me ordered very good looking chicken cheese steaks, complete with chopped up peppers and onions. SNIFFFFF! I had my first Yards beer (not bad!) and a couple glasses of Jameson in the rocks, a long with some other guys who clinked and sang with me for touchdowns! Fun! Prices were reasonable, and the place was standard faux Irish pub, but the bartender gave it a really friendly vibe.

Philly Cheese Steak. Not much meat or cheese on it. The fries we just ok.

I had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich with fries and a gin and tonic. The gin and tonic was good. The sandwich lacked enough meat and chees to make it any good. The fries were just ok. Nothing special. The service was just ok, too. Music was a bit loud.

Stopped in before my flight and Connor was my bartender. He strongly recommended the wings when I asked and he was right! They were perfectly crispy and fresh. I had a couple of margaritas too which were tasty! I will definitely return again if my flight is leaving from nearby this terminal.

The second soup of the day is Maryland Crab Soup. Epic failure ! Tried the chili blahhh

    Philly / Fries

I honestly loved the Philly!! It was simple but packed with lots of flavored. The French fries were crispy and soft inside. The reason for my 2 stars it's because the menu has a price listed and they charged me a different price. When asked she " will idk that seems wired " and walked away after grabbing my card. I would just keep an eye out for that other then that the Beer was Ice Cold and Highly recommended the Philly!! In my photos you can see the menu price $17.50 and what I was charged $19.00 . When I asked I had fries not fried onions . She said " that's how they ring it in " I honestly had to run to my gate on the other side. Or I would have stayed to keep asking why the price difference and have them fix it.

When you are in Philly, you need to get the cheesesteak. I got mine with the Whiz. It was good. Max got a beer and I had an Old Fashioned. Service was fast because they knew we needed to catch a plane. Unfortunately, I was not allowed to take my drink on the plane so I had to chug it down. It wasn't crowded when we arrived, but I can see standing room only when the airport is full of travelers.

The Philly cheesesteak was alright. I would give it 3/5. I expected it to be better than that as I was actually in Philly. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned. Insanely crowded place and quite dirty. Sticky chairs and tables. The bartender was so busy that she got my order wrong twice and all I asked was for vodka with club soda. Also, I hate it when a place has full bar and no drinks menu.

My husband and I had a morning flight out of PHL and had a couple of hours before boarding, so we headed over to Jack Duggan's Pub for some pancakes and Guinnesses. At Jack Duggan's, we ordered the Big Breakfast to share and a couple of Guinnesses. The Big Breakfast was well portion-sized, and looked amazing when it arrived. The eggs were standard, the scrapple was actually good, but the pancakes tasted funny. There was something off about the pancakes. It may have been the water that was mixed in with the batter, but the pancakes tasted more like beer battered pancakes, and not in a good way. Probably would not recommend getting the pancakes. Aside from that, everything else was good.

I learned later that this restaurant has been around since the early to mid 1900's. Plenty of parking in a large open lot. The place is very large and has one of the longest bars I've seen. The wood is very dark and you can see the chefs cooking over the hearth. They don't take reservations and won't see you until your entire party is there. One of the things I liked for our party of 10 was they had no problems with seating as they also have many large round tables. For mixed drinks, they make them pretty big and potent. For my martini, they sent back an extra glass. They also had great bleu cheese stuffed olives. We ordered onion rings (8 large to an order) and fried zucchini. The onion ring I had was pretty good. I didn't have the fried zucchini but heard it was also pretty good. Other than the light fare items, all dinners come with their salad bar which has both iceberg lettuce and Caesar Salad along with many fixings as well as cheeses and bread. I had the Baked Seafood Platter which came with scallops, shrimp, Clam Casino (without the shell), Maryland crab cake and a small lobster tail for $49.99. My wife had the baked chicken breast which she said was quite dry. The dining area is quite large and reminds me of the restaurants at a casino. Some in our group said it reminds them of Medieval Times due to the dark wood vibe. While I thought it was a bit pricey, I would still come back and try their signature steaks or prime rib.

You definitely get your money's worth, and you should not drive afterward. (I did not.)

The first thing I did was head straight for my favorite, Cantillon from Belgium. This visit, I tried their Kriek LG, a fruited lambic made by adding sour cherries to a two-year-old aged lambic. All I can say is... WOW! Tart, complex, refreshing, and dangerously drinkable. If beer could win an Academy Award, this one would be giving an acceptance speech. Now, let's talk food. I ordered the Thai Curry Mussels, and they were absolutely outstanding. The broth was packed with flavor, and the mussels were cooked perfectly. They easily rank in the top five mussel dishes I've ever had, and I've done my research! Pro tip: Don't make the rookie mistake of eating all the bread first. Save some for the end so you can soak up every last drop of that incredible curry broth at the bottom of the bowl. Trust me, you'll thank me later. The service is always excellent. John usually takes care of us in the back, and he consistently makes the experience even better with great recommendations and friendly service. In side is cozy and friendly! If you live in Philly and haven't been here yet, what are you waiting for? Great beer, amazing food, and outstanding service--this place checks every box. Just be warned: one visit and you'll be planning your next trip back before you even leave.

And it was walking distance from my hotel. Indeed their beer selection was impressive and carried Belgian Tripels, ales and IPAs and the elusive Pliney the Elder on tap at $8.50 a pint. I also learned their food menu boasts some well known choices. However, on this lunch visit the grill was out of service; no burgers, steaks, etc. I pivoted to their popular steamed mussels. A sizable pot of plump mussels in their black shells swimming in their liquor and considerable diced garlic and chopped fresh parsley. Delicious. The meal was accompanied by pommes frites and small slices of baguette for sopping. A chilled pint of Elder finished the monk's testament to excellence. Take a break from the cheesesteak and commit to the Monk. Well worth it.
