This is a great multi-season trail. The trail is not super long there is a medium-range (~3 km) or…read morea short (~2 km) loop. The trial is perfect for trail running, a short hike with small kids, a walk with a coffee in your hand while chatting with a friend and XC ski in winter. One of the loops has about 10 marked posts, some with archeological information about the Quarry. This trail is nice in the summer but exceptional nicer during winter after some heavy snow storms where you feel inside a ferry tale. Parking (P5) is free and by the size of it this is a popular trail, although it is easy to step aside and let people pass you if needed (keeping 2 m). Don't forget to bring bird seeds to feed those lovely birds.

In normal times you can go in and learn things but due to COVID19 its closed for visitors BUT if you circle the place you can see several big spots where they keep the birds. There is also a place they feed raccoons. From there its a beautiful walk under the trees to a nice swampy viewpoint. I did this trial with a 3 years old during winter and in a super hot (32C) summer day. On the trial, you will see tons of chipmunks that would love to eat from your hands, wild turkeys, and lots of birds. Bring some seeds for the birds/chipmunks, squirrels

It's hard to find an access point to actually walk around the park-like setting surrounding the falls, but with careful planning, you can do it! We ended up parking on a side street near an entrance, hiked around a bit, and took photos, but never made it to the bottom today. The falls are surrounded by trees, so surely this area would be beautiful in the fall when the colours change. I've been wanting to get the camera club together for an outing; maybe this fall will present an opportunity?

It was a cold day, not many people out. 1 other dog, 2 cyclists and a couple of walkers in 90 min. We let the dogs go in an empty area to do their biz. They loved it. Next time, I'll bring bird seed for the birds that followed us! It was my first time here and I will be back. I love exploring new trails and these were well kept. Garbage cans in lot for doggie waste.

This is a 6 KM round trip (actually you walk to the end, do a small loop around a pond and go back) that is not paved and you are walking a narrow path. While the path is not suitable for bikes (bikes are not allowed) We did walk it with an 8-year-old and a 3-year-old (most of the time on my back) so it is not that hard. In fact the hardest part were the mosquitos (BRING BUG SPRAY) The trail is marked pretty ok (some parts were a bit confusing) but you wont get lost, and there are a few side trail if you want a shorter/longer hike. Overall that was a wonderfull walk, very rustic at parts with beutiful scenary, highly recomanded (except the mosquitos)

Perhaps water shoes if you have kids. Tons of kayakers. The water looked clean enough and my dog was welcome, on leash, of course. It was a busy holiday, not a lot of shade and it was very crowded. We didn't stay long but I love to explore so, was happy that someone told me about it!

The trails like most NCC trails are well marked and this trail also serves as a fitness trail so you have distance marking every 200m for the 1800 m loop (that is the smaller inner loop, you can also add another 2K to your loop if you want) with fitness station along that trail. Perfect for small kids, XC ski or jogging. Just be aware the location of the trail makes it very popular amount people that just want a short hike to get fresh air and people from the area that walk their dogs so it is realitvely crowded. You can still distance yourself (COVID) easily if needed.

This is the nice part of the trail from there you can continue to a viewpoint of a modern-day quarry (if you continue towards old Richmond rd (to Point A on the map). You will also get to see the huge burnt area and learn about the environmental effect. Continue to points B-C-D and back to A to complete a 4 km round trip. About the trail, it is very nice and you can even feed the birds in several locations near the ruins. The highlight is the ruins and the rest of the hike is nice but not super special. The kids still liked it and its not that long. This hike was performed during May 2020, so COVID19 times, the first (and last) part of the hike between the ruins and the parking is very narrow and difficult for social distancing. Also, this is a mildly traffic trail.
