The kitchen noise can be intense, there's a pony wall separating the kitchen from the dining room and it doesn't stop the noise. The coffee was a little weak. The staff is great. Very cute little restaurant! The food was really good and creative! I forgot to take pictures but let me tell you the food was delicious. I had the Mac and Cheese and it was very tasty. My husband had the Ruben and he loved it. The bread was a crust of cheese and the flavor was amazing! Our waitress was, Samantha she gave us great service even though we sat out side because we brought our small dog, she came and checked on us regularly! My daughter and I had lunch on a Saturday in early August 2022. This was our first time eating there. We had high hopes based on the reviews we read. I ordered the Cubano and the pulled pork was so salty that I couldn't eat it. My daughters salmon was overdone and dry. They did remove the charges for the food and we ordered a burger to split. It was good. When we got our check and went to pay using the electronic billing system, my daughter noticed the suggested tip % to choose from was incorrect. She selected 20% and it put in an amount more than a 50% tip. She brought this to the attention of the waitress who was very nice and in turn she got the manager to let her know of a problem with their machine. My daughter wanted to let her know that wasn't calculating correctly so that they might want to have the waitresses let their customers know to review the amount of tip after it's added. She said they didn't have time to tell the customers and that its the customer's responsibility. So basically if you trust the machine to add the 20% gratuity and it calculates it wrong you need to double check it as they won't tell you to double check it. That's what I call a less than admirable attitude towards your customers. After the inedible food and the manager's people skills we won't be going back there. I would have given only one star, but because the waitress was very nice and good at her job, I gave it 2 stars! read more

Stopped on the way to Ashland, OR. What a wonderful find! The food was so flavorful and plentiful. Roasted veggies as a choice of sides with your burger...YES! I got a chicken breast as a standard choice instead of a burger patty. It was cooked to perfection. The brioche bun was toasted and buttered. Yum! My friend got the Salmon Salad. Great find in downtown cottage grove. Good service, yummy and creative meals, I had a hard time deciding what to get there were so many options I wanted to try but I went with the hazelnut quinoa cakes; yummy and the avocado paired well to cut the mushrooms (had a little too much wine soak for my taste) served with a really yummy salad with sweet potatoes (but a slight bit too much dressing for my needs). We stopped on a drive south and was pleasantly surprised that we found this spot. I had a Reuben and was supposedly surprised that they have an unusual way of preparing it and that I believe they coded the outside with cheese before they did the cooking which added a unique flavor. I would have gone with a five-star actually probably deserve a four and a half the only thing I wasn't as positive about was the sweet potato fries that are dipped in a batter before fried and it seemed to overwhelm the flavor of the sweet potatoes. Very Disappointed, not the Jack Sprat that I am used to. I have not been here for several months, and won't be going back. This place has gone down hill a lot. The service was horrible, we waited over 20 minutes to get water and over an hour and a half to get our food. Nobody came by the table to check on us to refill drinks/water. We end up getting up to find our server to have them check our food. When the food finally came out we had no silverware and had to wait another 5 minutes to be able to eat and to top it off the food wasn't that good. Very Disappointed! read more

This was a great place to stop in Cottage Grove since my fellow diner has a lot of food allergies and sensitivities. The menu is better than average describing gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian items and they were helpful when describing ingredients and offering substitutions. The interior is very casual and has a coffee house vibe with a small stage at the front. There are a couple of tables in a loft above the front door, but we sat near the back because the live music, while enjoyable, made conversation difficult. There is also a children's play area at the back. Our meals were satisfying, service was great, and they have a nice bakery section (including gluten-free pastries) so we also got desserts to go. We tried dining at this restaurant recently. We were one of two tables that had to get up and leave due to very poor service. The pink-haired, tattooed, facially pierced manager was completely rude and unprofessional. When I called beforehand, she brusquely answered the phone without a greeting or even stating the restaurant's name. Upon arrival, she chastised us and complained loudly to another employee that we sat down outside without "checking in", even though you do not have a sign outside indicating this is necessary. We proceeded to sit outside for an inordinate amount of time (after "checking in"), only to be completely ignored. A gentleman next to us had been waiting even longer without any service. He also got up and left and complained as he was leaving about the awful I was appalled that she was not only a terrible restaurant employee, but even worse, the manager! I was so looking forward to trying this restaurant, but it doesn't matter how good the food is with this kind of condescending treatment and rude dining experience. We came here for lunch around 11:45am on a Saturday. We ordered the club sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries and the coconut club sandwich with a side of spicy cauliflower soup. Everything was so good! The seasoned batter on the sweet potato fries is so clever, and made them extra crunchy and so enjoyable to eat. The tofu in the coconut club was fried and crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and covered in like a sweet and sour egg roll type of sauce. Stopped on our way home from camping near the Umpqua. There is no social distancing between tables. So if that's important to you, eat elsewhere. I was a bit uncomfortable with my back 2-3' away from the person at the next table. Food was good. Salmon was well cooked. Portions are large. But they are far too reliant on breading. The onion rings were 80% breading. We peeled most of it off and there was still more than enough left. Even the sweet potato fries had a lot of breading. If you like heavily breaded fried things. Super cute place, great gluten free selection (I got their chicken strips because I missed those) and for a place offering yummy vegan food, they also do meat top notch. If you ask for a medium rare burger you actually get one. We have never had bad service, the drinks are nice, the coffee is good, and if they ever have live cafe style music again that would be awesome. My first experience years ago involved my son chatting up a very nice mandolin player. Kid friendly, but not in an obnoxious way, and stylish enough to impress someone on a casual date.
