While I was waiting for my order I was seeing chicken strips leaving the kitchen with almost every order. When I finally got called up I asked if they were actually out of chicken strips and the manager said they were not. I was extremely frustrated. Then when I got home both of our orders didn't have the fries that went with them and we were charged extra for french fries that should had come with our order. Looking for something quick and healthy is always tricky. This place got the mark for me! Out shopping with my girlfriends we stopped in here and it can be a little confusing to someone who has never been here. You tell the server the ingredients and they build your salad in front of you. The options for the salad were actually quite extensive. My salad was amazing!!! I didn't care for the roasted chickpeas I chose, but everything else was fresh and felt light. My girlfriend ordered the garlic fries, which were a bit too greasy. They could've probably used an extra minute cooking. The garlic was aplenty and tasty. Decided to dine at Jacks for lunch this past Friday. It was crowded but the line wasn't too bad. We were able to find a seat in the outdoor patio. Overall, seemed clean and just like any other jacks. I did a "build your own" salad with mixed greens and chicken. My toppings included: tofu, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, broccoli, edamame beans, and red onions. As you can see, my mixed greens is mostly romaine lettuce. Where are the other greens?? The chicken was good, not dry. My issue was with the tofu that is cooked and marinated in a balsamic glaze. It felt like eating beef jerky! Talk about tough! I didn't know it was possible to make tofu tough. Some were so hard I couldn't even stab it with my fork. My bf got the steak salad, and his steak slices were massive! It was difficult to chew threw because the cuts were too thick. No other complaints about the toppings. Since the steak was the focal point, it made the salad quite disappointing. It's jacks, so we will be back. Hopefully they will improve. read more

New disorganized ordering process that creates a massive wait time. The staff are a mix of hard workers and lazy teenagers who clearly don't care. When you order (take away) in store they ask for your name and say they'll call it when your food use ready. What we (me and the 10 people waiting) found was anything but. The workers hurriedly shove bags onto a shelf that is taped off from the customers side and walk away. The bags are door dash, online, and in-store. After watching frustrated door dashers ask where the orders were, and soon after people that ordered before me I knew something was up. I finally asked and an employee grabbed my order from the mix and pointed to my name. I told her we've all been waiting for our names to be called and you haven't said a word and she walked away. Soon after everyone that had been waiting began asking the same and got the orders that had been done for several minutes waiting. Tried this place out for the first time! Love where it was located at. The staff was very odd, didn't seem so friendly or helpful. But maybe because it was a Saturday. Lol However, I got the Pesto Chicken Sandwich on Sourdough and my mom got the Portobello Sandwich. We both shared half of each sandwich. Both sandwiches were definitely delicious! I would easily get both again. We tried out their garlic fries, and Mac n cheese. Fries were prefect! As for the Mac n Cheese, I wouldn't get it again it's definitely very basic and simple. Jacks is a perfect place to grab lunch or dinner, especially if you're not looking to sit down and have a two hour dinner somewhere. For lack of a better word, it's a tremendous urban eats place. My go to is always either a Cesar salad with steak or the tri-tip sandwich. I can't say I've had any complaints with it, regardless of what I've had beyond that. The atmosphere is hip and yet causal at the same time. You walk in and order at the counter and food is delivered to your table. It's low key and yet you feel like you're getting a really quality meal! If I had any reservations about Jacks it'd only be that they aren't featured on Door Dash yet! A little disappointed with the experience. Came at 1pm on a Sunday for lunch. The group I was with was 4 people. 2 regulars at the Natomas location and my in-laws first time. When placing our order we asked for 3 BBQ tri tip sandwiches. Cashier looks at another worker and they said they only have enough tri tip for 2 sandwiches. So we said okay, then she corrects and says never mind. We only have enough for 1 sandwich. What the heck. It's 1pm, you opened at 11:30. How do you not have enough?! I gotta give a shout out to the folks here at the Fountains location. I'm pregnant, and one of the few things I've been able to eat is Jack's BBQ tritip salad. But I always have to call in after I order it online because I need the tritip well done because of pregnancy food restrictions. Sigh ... I hate calling in with a "special order," but the good people at Jack's have never made me feel bad about it and have made sure my order was right every time. Broccoli that's been in the sun for a day. That's how my salad tasted. The chicken was bland like it had been boiled and then grilled. Ew. The staff were flippant when I asked to get my wife's chicken grilled. As though I just walked into their dorm room and insisted they cook for me. The salad was then returned with barely grilled chicken. Same chicken. And the dressing all hot. Tomatoes were requested left off and they were all through the salad. It smelled like hot ass. Mine was completely devoid of flavor except for the weird/gross broccoli vibe. We were excited and hungry when we got there. We left feeling dirty. Long story short, that's forty bucks and a half hour of my life I'll never get back. Longer version is the service is terrible and I agree with another reviewer. Pull your hair back or in a hat at the very least! This is food service not an urban outfitters fashion show. The employees basically got argumentative when I asked that the chicken on my salad be grilled as described. There was objection to both me and my husband that it was in fact grilled. It was not and even if it was, grill the chicken again for the love! I paid for it, this isn't a charity. Once we got the salad back and actually tried the food it was bland and frankly unappealing. I get it's healthier fare but healthy doesn't mean unappetizing. Delicious and healthy aren't mutually exclusive. We just decided to leave the full plates of food and our forty bucks ( I am not independently wealthy so $40 means something to our budget) and go somewhere else. At The Cheesecake Factory we were treated with courtesy and had a nice meal. We asked for a bit more dressing on our salad and no one argued with us because apparently they grasp the concept of paying customers and service. read more

Had really bad experience, been coming here for years and today I walked up to order and girl who took my order did not want gave me Soda up and after ordering my food I asked for some lemons and she said we had no lemons/or limes and right than I saw another server giving lemon to another customer. If you are creating your own salad they have 20+ different options! This is more than I have seen at other make-you-own salad places. Some of my favorites include: cooked yams, sautéed onions, couscous, feta cheese, mushrooms, and more! They have a bunch of dressing options including vinaigrettes, and a creamy dill (my favorite!). I got a salad again and my only complaint is that the turkey was very dry again. If I return, I won't be having any meat. We ordered the sweet potato fries which were AMAZING. We loved those. My boyfriend got a pesto chicken sandwich and he said it was better than last time, but the meat was dry as well.. I love their menu. My favorite is the Cajun chicken sandwich and the BBQ Tri Tip sandwich. The food is yummy but I'm just probably picky, but I wish my cheese was a little more melted. Disappointing! We have enjoyed Jack's at all of their locations since they first opened. The Fountains location has been a fail the last two times, with yesterday's visit adding a third fail. No one ever greeted us while they continued chatting with each other. The chicken on my buffalo chicken sandwich was hard and had a bad taste. It was returned for credit. The urban fries and make-your-own salad were good. The cheese bread was rock hard and not edible. The employees were unfriendly and not helpful. However the manager was courteous, professional and tried to offer whatever he could to make up for the fail items which was very appreciated. Sadly, Jack's may not be on our rotation list going forward though. read more

We went on a Saturday afternoon and should have known it was going to be busy. I don't usually like the order at the counter and sit on your own model, but the long line moved fairly quickly and we found seating for four. I had the BBQ tri tip sandwich. It was a little messy and the tri tip had some chewy bits. The fries are good. They have the appropriate selection of beer and wine. I just wish i ordered 2 beers to start so I didn't have to wait in line again! The inside is modern, open, and suited for fast service and turnaround. The staff was helpful and polite. This is my first time eating at this Jack's I have been to the rancho and Sierra College one many times however. I don't know if things changed due to Covid but I've always ordered near the salad area. In the middle near the meat they had a sign stating you order at the cash register. I however didn't see the sign. I stood waiting for someone to greet me or say hi for 5 minutes before I said do I order here? Then they told you you order at the register so I get in line at the register and I hear an employee behind me say loudly there is obviously a sign. I know I should be more aware and look out for signs but it wouldn't of been the hard to look up and say you order down there? (Update) I wasn't going to give up on this restaurant as I really enjoy their food (I've tried almost everything on their menu), their quick service and restaurant ambience/patio. This time I went in and ordered another salad along with another sandwich to-go. Brought them home, both were delicious! My salad box was full (with dressing!) and not as sad as last time. They weren't as busy that day, but I'm hoping they will keep their quality standards up even during this chaotic times when people are ordering more Door Dash & to-gos. I love Jacks Urban Eats. We stopped in this evening, decided to give this location a try. We've been to other Jacks locations and weren't disappointed. Ordered the Pacific Ahi salad, the Buffalo chicken salad and a bowl of Mac and cheese. Mac and cheese came out cold, and very bland. Salads were another story. I will say for a $15 ahi salad I was highly disappointed with the size and quality. The Buffalo chicken dwarfed the ahi salad and was a good size with good flavor could use a bit more chicken but it had good flavor. I would try this location again but possibly go with a sandwich or something other than a salad. I will also add employees seemed like robots, for the amount of them there wasn't a lot of interaction or eye contact making the atmosphere seem shady. read more
