My partner (F) and I (F) came here on a weekend trip. And this was one of the only cafes near Luray. We placed an order in right after another couple who were the only ones ahead of us. The place was not busy. After 15 minutes we asked where our lattes are. They pretend to start getting them ready. They ignored us the entire time and hid behind a lame excuse that they "ran out of beans" despite having beans all around the store and extras in a supply closet. 10 minutes later (25 minutes after our order was placed) a family of 4 comes in and ordered smoothies and their whole family receives their order before we receive two lattes. They were the very next customer after us. 5 minutes after they get their smoothies we get our "hot" lattes, which are somehow cold when they arrive with no milk foam. The cashier who took our order went in the back and came out once very briefly saw us and then returned. The staff was very nice with everyone else and asked people if they had everything, but never addressed us even though we were sitting there empty handed and making eye contact with them when we could. Stopped here on a road trip. Always try to avoid fast food. This little cafe had everything our family of 5 needed: sandwiches, salads, fruit, smoothies, coffee, dessert. I had a quiche. Very good. My kids had chicken salad; my daughter had pulled pork. All great and made fresh. Would definitely visit all the time if I lived nearby. Cool fact: it's inside a small historic house. We were on our way home from North Carolina and decided to try this coffee shop. Usually it is a hit or miss for us and we weren't expecting much. I was so surprised at how good the lattes were and the scones were the best I have ever had. I am a pastry and sourdough baker and I have to say that the baker should get an award! Haha I got the cherry almond and I am still thinking about it. My husband got the chocolate chip and was pleasantly surprised. I wish I bought some to bring home. Jackson's is a little gold mine of tasty excitement. The food is very good and the bakery goods are always fresh and superb! The service is friendly and attentive. My favorite part of Jackson's Cafe is the coffee. It is roasted onsite by Crazy Fox Coffee Roasters. The roaster's various blends are some of the best small batch coffees I've ever enjoyed. The "Hoot Owl" blend is our favorite. Though my wife and I live in Reston, Virginia, I have the coffee shipped to our home in 5 lbs bags. I love a cozy warm Cafe . This is just what Jackson's Corner Cafe is . Nestled in the back of a historical building it's 3 businesses under one roof . What an excellent way to use space . The visitor center is to the left and Jackson's Corner Cafe is around from this . To the right is a unique shop ,Calico Emporium . As soon as you enter the aroma of fresh ground coffee delights your smell. It's very inviting . As you walk through the visitor center it opens up into a spacious area to relax, eat or chat . They have a large menu to satisfy even the pickiest eater. On the counter under glass domes are house made scones , muffins , and cinnamon buns. That were made in the morning . How's that for super fresh . All looked delish. We only ordered a hot beverage . I ordered a London Fog Latte , my son a Mocha Latte and my husband a black medium roast coffee . We were all happy beans with our drinks . I wished we hadn't eaten before because I surely would eaten here. Gives me an excuse to go back . 2/10/19 And we did go back today . Wonderful wonderful relaxing place . They had the fire going and the aroma in the air was of fresh ground coffee . The young ladies are friendly and helpful with answering questions for us 1st timers. I ask to sample their Chicken salad and wow it was delish . I ordered the pick 2 half chicken salad sandwich on toasted rye and the Tomato Basil soup . Both were fresh and filled me right up. In fact the young lady had made it that day . We popped in on a whim one morning. The atmosphere is relaxed & homey. There's a lot of cool historical stuff to look at while you eat or wait. The people (both staff & regulars) are very friendly, kind, & welcoming. Seriously, we've never met any of these people before but felt like we were surrounded by long lost friends. Tucked inside a historic building in New Market, Jacksons Corner is a full coffee bar, and they know their beans. The brew is fresh, and the beans are strong. COFFE CONFUSION I used to come here very regularly and I have always pleased with the quality of the food and service... until today. My husband, my friend and I waited for two macchiatos. And we ended up with two lattes, 60 minutes latter. The story: 1. The food board advertises: americano, macchiato, latte, caramel macchiato. So isn't too bad to assume that they know how to do a macchiato. Well...Wrong assumption!!! 2. Our order was: 12oz macchiato, 16oz capuchino, 20oz macchiato and some food. They asked if I wanted caramel in the 12oz. I said no caramel. 3. My husband's capuchino arrived in 10 minutes. My friend and I kept hearing "lattes" all their way during the first 30 minutes. No sign of the macchiatos. I approached the barista and he told me they already produced two macchiatos. But since the small macchiato I ordered didn't have caramel on it, then automatically (by magic?) it became a latte. (So they were saying "latte" for our drinks ) Then the barista (with attitude) said he already gave me the macchiatos to me. I said no. I don't have them. And he said will do it again for me --as if he were doing me a favor-- 4. 20 minutes later, my friend went and checked on the order. He explained the difference between macchiato and latte (which we assumed it was very clear to the coffee shop since they advertise both on their board). 5. One hour later.... We got two lattes. ‍‍ Lessons learned - For me as a customer: never to order macchiato in this store. - For Jackson corner is twofold: (1) do not advertise drinks you don't know how to prepare. Latte and macchiato are very different drinks. If you advertise them, coffee lovers (like me) will have some expectations you will not be able to fulfill. Like today. So remove the macchiato option from your board. (2) train your staff better so they don't give attitude to a customer asking for her order. That was the cherry at the top of the cake. Not nice at all. Ps: we stayed for 30 minutes more after the incident, NOBODY came to our table to make a joke or apologize. Nobody. And they didn't have customers (the peak time was over). So no even the interest on customers perception, let alone relationship or loyalty. Sad. Sad. Solution, my husband ordered two double espressos. Simple. Plain. read more

Found this little gem on Yelp. My sister and I were driving back to TX and we needed a pick me up. Read about their in house roasted coffee and was instantly sold. For what it's worth, we both come from a food and beverage background in hotels. Jackson's Corner Cafe exceeded our expectations in every way. The atmosphere was cozy with lots of southern charm and character, we felt very much at home, 1300 miles away. Great coffee, my sister's latte was the best she's ever had. Freshly roasted coffee makes the world of difference y'all. Highly recommend, you can actually taste bean's entire bouquet of flavors and terroir. The spinach, egg, and feta croissant we ordered was delicious. Most importantly, our amazing barista, Maddie, was very friendly. She pulled an excellent shot of espresso. I have never found myself in a position to leave a review for an establishment before. But the service that my family and I experience every time we decide to dine there is just plainly horrible. My mother and I decided to eat some sandwiches today but we decided to get a refund after we notice that they always leave us for last, just because we are not white. Every time we come to this establishment and there is a group of caucasians, they always get their food first. This would be fine if its a one-time occurrence, but its every time we go there. Today it was a group of Six or five of white women who ordered the same thing as us, a Rachel sandwich and an italian melt. But then again, they left us for last. We asked for a refund and the woman who took our order did not even ask us why we wanted a refund. It seemed that they were happy to get us out of there as quickly as possible. it's quite a shame since their sandwiches are quite amazing! My mother and I are both hispanic. Normally I wouldn't care but nobody has the right to treat my mother like this. Especially since she is not fluent in English and cannot speak for herself. I always run to Dunkin' Donuts for the convenience of the drive through, but their coffee is horrendous. With some free time, we stopped in and tried this place, and were very pleased. If I could give it zero stars I would. I got a frozen coffee and my wife got a fruit smoothie. Both were way too expensive and there was almost no coffee or fruit in the drinks. The smoothie wasn't even real fruit! I wasted $11.45 on two cups of crushed ice. I have been around this earth for some time now and drank way more coffee than I probably should and this place takes the place holder of "biggest waste of my money" Well, it can only get better from here for my coffee enjoyment future. Loved this unexpected stop in New Market, VA. We were on our way to Luray Caverns and stopped here, easily accessible from I-81 exit 262. The staff was very friendly, food and coffee were fresh made. I had the pulled pork sandwich with slaw and a coffee. The sandwich was very tasty, moist and flavorful! The coffee, which they roast on site, was wonderfully smooth and tasty... I usually take a spoon of sugar with coffee, but I tried this without, and the sugar would have gotten in the way of the rich coffee flavor. If you're in the area, well worth a stop! Plus the Calico Curio shop in the same historic building was a nice plus. read more

After the new owner took over, it became worth my while to frequent here more often. I love coming in on Saturdays for lunch and a good latte. When summer is here I go for the cold brew!! They are trying to be open on Sundays now and I would highly recommend stopping after church for a sandwich. They always have a special during the week and fresh, DELICIOUS, homemade baked goods.
