I've taken various friends with me over the years. With COVID this year, you weren't allowed to bring your own bucket, but this was ok because I usually buy their boxes anyway. I like that I can use them and recycle them. Earlier this week, I spent about 2 hours picking strawberries and walked out with about 17 pounds. I was able to make jam & jelly, as well as save some berries to go with strawberry shortcake. The prices are reasonable at $2.95/pound for pick your own and $5.75/container of pre-picked berries.

Today's strawberries were on the smaller side but still sweet. Gathered up over four pounds of berries to make fun concoctions, mostly jelly. Since this wasn't the start of picking season it took about five mins for me to really find some that were worth pulling. In my experience, many were along the irrigation pipes, and the larger ones were covered (shades) with thick green leaves. Tip: Contact or follow the farms social media for key picking times and confirm picking is available before you make the hike to the area.

I parked in the lot and it was packed with cars. Next, you have to go inside the store barn and get a bucket for apple picking. The Carmel apples were all sold out as well as the apple cider popsicles and the apple cider fridge looked a little bare. I read the other reviews from my fellow yelpers that mentioned the amazing apple cider, so I knew I had to get some before that was sold out too. I grabbed the next to last gallon of apple cider (or so I thought) and put it in my car before I even started apple picking. This place has a front Orchard and a back Orchard. Honestly, I didn't even see the front Orchard until I was already done apple picking. The best way to get to the back Orchard is to take the tractor wagon/hayride. I waited about 15 minutes and the tractor arrived, but it filled up to capacity real quick. So me and the kiddos decided to walk it out. Know that if you are walking to the back Orchard, you will bypass a stream and walk a couple of hills on the way. The best way to not get overwhelmed by the types of apples is to know which ones you came to pick. My favorite apples (gala, honeycrisp, Fuji) were not available for u-pick. So, I was left to just try the types of apples and find the perfect fit for my pick. Yes, you can try an apple or two. Most of the apple rows are labeled with the types of apples. There were pear trees too, but I didn't see any pears because they were all picked out. FYI's: Watch out for the muddy puddles. Wear boots or appropriate shoes. Ask for the apple picker tool. They did refill the apple cider fridge as I was checking out. The u-pick apples were 85 cent a pound. The apple cider is sweet, fresh and the best around. My favorite apples were the golden delicious.

On the train set there is a crawl space and my friends daughter crawled in there, and hit her head hard on 6 large and long screws pointing out of the low ceiling. We went to complain to an employee and try to show them that even though there is a sign that says play at your own risk, that is extremely dangerous, and the crawl space should be blocked off just for safety of children. This man got very upset and huffy and puffy. Was very reluctant to even speak to us, let alone help us. As we walked from the store to the playground he was almost yelling at this point, being so careless and rude to us, explained that HE DID NOT CARE ABOUT THE TODDLERS INJURY BECAUSE HE HAS PEOPLE SUING HIM CURRENTLY AND PEOPLE COMING WEEKLY TO TRY AND SUE HIM. His exact words, and we asked who even are you can we speak to the owner? He PROUDLY stated that he was the owner and then asked us to leave the property. We were so frustrated and felt so ripped off from what was supposed to be a fun experience that we just wanted our money back for the items we purchased. He refused to give us our money back and encouraged us to call the police. We told him we were just going to leave a bad review and he said he would just delete it! my friend and i took my daughter to the apple country farm market this afternoon. they have all…read morethis fun kid playground equipment. so we decided to play before we left. on the train play set there is 4 very sharp rigid nails poking through the train's little crawl space. they punctured my daughters head. she wasn't badly hurt thank goodness, it could've been a lot worse. we decided to go up to the manager so he could fix this hazard since it's extremely kid accessible. he was extremely rude off the back when we came to him and absolute no empathy for my daughter who was clearly hurt. his exact words were "he doesn't care and to call the cops. people are trying to sue him weekly" and then proceeded to point to the sign that says "play at your own risk". the sign we clearly already saw but still thought it was important for the owner to block off the area or fix the exposed sharp nails so another kid couldn't get hurt. at this point he's irate, yelling, cussing, and demanding us off the property. we said we wanted to return the unused and untouched things we bought. (soap, honey, cider, apples) he REFUSED even though everything was unopened and untouched. DO NOT TAKE YOUR FAMILY TO APPLE COUNTRY FARM MARKETS!!! what was supposed to be a fun afternoon turned into a terrible nightmare.
