My husband is also handicapped. I called the office in advance, provided our dental insurance information, and scheduled appointments for routine cleanings. Upon arrival, we presented our insurance card to the receptionist, who told us that we did not have dental insurance. We explained that we have had this insurance for many years and have successfully used it with other dentists. She continued to state that it was medical rather than dental coverage. To clarify the issue, I contacted Cigna directly from the office. A Cigna representative confirmed that both my husband and I have active dental insurance and offered to fax all required information. The receptionist spoke with the agent and received the fax. Despite this confirmation and the office error, we were told that we could not be seen that day and would need to reschedule, even though it was still within my husband's appointment time, the hygienist appeared to be available, and there were no other patients waiting. While the receptionist was entering our insurance information into the system, Dr. Vera Krupnov came out and rudely informed us that she did not want us in her office at all. No explanation was provided, and no effort was made to review or discuss what had occurred. The experience was extremely upsetting. We left feeling shaken, distressed, and humiliated. This interaction did not reflect the level of professionalism, communication, or courtesy one expects in a healthcare setting.

He gave me a quick exam, looked briefly at the numerous X-rays they kept taking over and over , and then told me he was going to call my dentist so they could decide what to do. Huh? Do I get any say in the matter? When he came back after speaking with my dentist, he would not explain or justify his recommending a retreat, gave only brief non-informative answers to my questions, and after 5 minutes asked, "So, when do you want to have it done?" Although he does have high end equipment (microscope, laser,) and appears to be very competent and experienced, pricing of $2250 for the procedure was outrageous! By contrast another endodontist I saw a few weeks later spent over an hour with me, took X-rays and a CT scan, explained to me exactly why he was recommending what he was, told me of the prognosis, answered all of my questions thoroughly, and I left with a full understanding of my options . . . I've seen countless dentists and dental specialists in recent years, and that's what I expect from a doctor....

I was very impressed that they called to follow up and check on me the next day and offered their cell phone numbers to call over the weekend if I needed anything. They truly care about their patients. One more note... I found the office to be clean and comfortable and the chairs had extra padding and were very nice. She was able to quickly repair it and took the time to go over the veneers option with me. I couldn't be happier I decided to go with her.
