To mirror the reviews of other Yelpers before me, Jade is your typical Chinese fast food restaurant. I prefer to order takeout but mostly because it's close to work and easy to grab a bite to eat. The owners and staff are all friendly and very welcoming. The restaurant is clean and there is plenty of parking. The standout item for me is their beef teriyaki. Decent Chinese restaurant but nothing special. They do have large portions for decent prices. I got the combo of beef lo mien, pork fried rice and chicken fingers for only $12. The chicken fingers were my favorite. I just got take out and the order was ready fast. If I lived closer I probably would get this every once an while. read more

I will never order from here again! Worst service, bland food, poor packaging. They don't read notes or follow directions. I asked for 7 hot mustards, said I'd PAY for them, they sent me ZERO. Wanted to try this place for years and never took the opportunity. Their food is bland, bland , bland . There is literally no taste and when you order a house rice plate and a chicken lo mein . You would think that they taste different but sadly the same : bland. The food looks appetizing and there's plenty amount given but the taste is not there. We ordered the house fried rice ; usually plenty of other ingredients and really is the best fried rice one can buy in a restaurant . Here there are no veggies ( carrots and peas) are not included. There are shrimps , boneless ribs pieces and chicken morsel. All were dried. The chicken lo mein again bland . Huge portion but no taste. Their service is also lacking . The children ( son and daughter) need to help out answering the incoming calls rather than spending time on their tablets/ phone. Stay home if you want to do that. There is NO system when picking up the orders. When patrons come through the door , the son asked what you order is. ie. The dishes that you placed and not the name or last 4 digits of your phone number. Wouldn't this be better? It would make it easier on patrons and not mix people's order. I observed all this while waiting for my order. It was a bit long but I understand that fresh food is being prep and it takes time . The order came out sitting on the counter and nothing was called out. We just waited . We asked for it then the son looked at the order that was on the counter then gave it to us. If there was a system down none of the patrons have to wait. Sorry there is no need to come back . I usually do not give 1 star but I thought to be generous giving it two. We've tried this place 3 times and every time they've left things out of our order and it's been cold and greasy . We've gotten an apology but not a refund . My whole experience was terrible.. from calling in the order the guy was rude and didn't even say hello or thank you or anything.. when I picked up my order the lady didn't even acknowledge me she was talking on the phone on speaker phone .. Jade Garden is your typical Lewiston/Auburn Chinese restaurant. For those from the twin cities will know exactly what I mean. The food is good and they are pretty quick when completing your order. They have a small 5 or 6 chair bar as well as a dining room that can seat small or larger parties. They are located inside the old Caswell's shopping area along the Main street side. Staff is very friendly but sometimes hard to understand because of their thick accents. It seems the majority of their business is take-out as you may find 4 or 5 people waiting arriving to pick up their orders as you wait for yours if you order inside rather than by phone. My favorite combo to order is the General Tso Chicken (D16). Each combo meals comes with rice and an additional side (something you would find in a pu pu platter). They give you plenty of food that sometimes makes it harder to close the lid but I won't ever complain for receiving more food than I expected. The chicken is cooked nicely with a fair amount of sauce. I tend to ask for my sauce because I enjoy pouring it over my rice as well especially when it's white rice. I would love to tell you more about what other meals I have had, but I am partial to the D16 and haven't ventured away from it yet but if I do you will see an updated to this review. This restaurant is not high end, but you will enjoy the food and how quickly they can get it out to you. Order in and it seems you might get more than from takeout. read more

Have you ever thought "Tonight I'd like to eat Chinese food without any of that Chinese food taste"? Well, this is your place! I have tried it twice now with the same results. I actually ordered from it by accident the 2nd time, not realizing it was the same place until I arrived for pick up. The food is SUPER BLAND! No flavor. No spice. I'm sorry! I take that back. The sesame chicken has a slight flavor of mystery seafood. We ordered a couple dishes and an appetizer. I moved it up to 2 stars because the teriyaki beef (that has no teriyaki flavor) was otherwise well cooked. During this Covid 19 crisis, our usual restaurant has been closed so had to try some place new. E we went with the rating and reviews, only to find out that my fellow Yelpers must have hit them on a good night. Our order was wrong (always check... this is my new mantra), the pork with garlic sauce was good, but not spicy hot as requested. The sesame beef was grisly, not spicy hot as requested, but the sauce was good. Steamed dumplings were doughy with no sauce to accompany as well as the egg rolls (doughy) and no hot mustard to add to the sweet/sour sauce. My husband and I went for Valentine's Day this year. I believe there was one (very chatty) server working, and two cooks, and although the dining room wasn't crowded, there was a brisk pace of pick-ups happening. So the small delay in getting seated and our order taken was understandable. The Mai Tais were good (and potent), and we were hungry so we each ordered a dinner (comes with choice of appetizer and rice) and teriyaki beef strips as an additional appetizer. I ordered orange chicken, crab rangoons and fried rice. My husband ordered General Tso's chicken, egg roll and fried rice. Two surprises when the food hit the table - the pile of food on each plate was HUGE, and... except for the different apps, looked exactly the same. I tried both meals, and they tasted exactly the same. No traditional General Tso's spiciness, and definitely no orange taste. I called the server over and said I thought there was a mistake, but she confirmed that yes, we got the correct orders. I told her there was no difference in taste, and no orange taste at all in mine, and she acknowledged that the orange chicken isn't really very orangey. The food did taste good (especially the rangoons), but either we didn't get what we ordered, or there isn't any difference (I mean they tasted EXACTLY the same) between at least those two chicken dishes. I got the general tso's chicken and hands down the best I've had in the Lewiston auburn area! I've tried pretty much every other place and these guys know what they're doing. I've tried other items too off of their menu and I'm never left unhappy. Not to mention their prices can't be beat! Now to finish it off on why I'm writing a review the service is always so kind and pleasant they truly love their customers and it shows through their actions. I stopped in recently to try the buffet but to my disappointment it was not being offered. I stayed anyway and ordered off the menu and was very glad I did! The chicken fingers were the best I have ever tasted anywhere. The Gen'l Tao combination dish was also the best I have ever had. The portions were huge and I therefore had plenty left for another meal later that day. The food was crisp and non greasy and had a wonderful taste profile. Ordered General Tso chicken, fried dumpling, and Gai Poo Lo Mein, My shrimp was overcooked and rubber-like, also they were not de-veined. So you know what your eating...Definitely not fresh either. The "steamed" white rice wasn't cooked and the grains were still a bit hard. The fried dumpling was huge, barely fried and they dough was too much for the small amount of filling. The filling was dry. My wife says her General Tso chicken was awful. The rice tastes "old", and everything was just stale. The chicken in the general tso was prison grade and frozen Chinese food from the supermarket tastes much better. You do get a lot of food, but that doesn't make up for using poor quality and leftovers to server paying customers. I guess if you come in to drink and are really really drunk than the food tastes good to you. They are large portions because the food isn't fresh and it's very cheap quality, so if you think you are getting a good deal, think again. read more
