We had a menu thrust under our door during Fresher's Week and it sat in our hall until we felt hungry and lazy enough to use it. The menu has the usual range of Chinese classic dishes and I went for the crispy chilli shredded beef along with fried rice and a bag of prawn crackers. They said they would be 20 minutes, but in reality it was more like 50, and they charged a fiver at the door for it. Nonetheless, the food was tasty and filling. The beef was good quality and the spicy sauce which accompanied it was delicious. I'd certainly recommend ordering from So Good, just be prepared for a bit of a wait.

I took a peek inside and opted for the vegetable chow mein, which was fine, but is a choosy chow mein chomper, I wasn't overly impressed. Around a week later, I popped in again, mainly due to hunger and convenience, and I decided to try something different. I chose one of their snack boxes, which was piled high with chips, fried rice and curry sauce, for only £3! This was more like it, cheap and cheerful and enough food to feed three of us! This place may not be as wonderful as it suggests, however it serves up your basic Chinese takeaway grub, with very generous portions. The vegetable spring roll you could tell was fresh and in house made. The portions where a little too big for one person and could easily feel two people easy. The only downside of the take away was that the waiting area was cold and when the door opened the cold breeze went straight through you. One of the main reasons I rarely go here now is the parking situation. At the weekend it is a nightmare with cars double parked just beside a busy roundabout where the lucky star sits. Food is nice but no where the best in area but it has been there a long time and is still busy so they must be doing something right. Their chips are really good and I always get some when I go here. Their pizzas are kinda interesting. The one I like is one that has garlic butter and potato and red onion on it. I mainly like it for the novelty of having potato on pizza. It is kinda strange, right? But I also like getting pizza from here because they give you yummy garlic mayo with your pizza. What can I say, I like garlic. Definitely beats many of the takeaways in Marchmont, and it's pretty reasonably priced.
