It had some very cool classic clothes in the window which we wanted to check out. As we first arrived at it during lunch time, the door read something along the lines of "Out for lunch, will be back at 12:30." Sounded reasonable enough to us, so we left and came back at 12:40. The sign was still on the door. We badly wanted to see what the store had, so we left again and came back well over an hour later. The sign now read "Out for coffee, will be back in 5 min." At this point it was kinda comical, may as well take the whole day off if you're gonna put signs up and leave all day. So we came back 30 min later and guess what....SIGN STILL UP. We went back to the hotel and waited about two hours, and when we headed out to dinner we decided to give the place one last shot. With no sign on the door, our hearts starting beating faster. "Could it be open?" rattled through our anxious minds. I approached the door with caution, with a hint of excitement. As I pushed, time slowed down to a stop, but then accelerated as the door gave way and finally opened. I screamed "YES" and we rejoiced in the store's long awaited openness. Once we were inside we were disappointed. All we had built up in our minds was melted into shadows. The prices here are very high, some items way overpriced. They advertise several discounts, all of which still don't make the items cheap enough. However, the taxidermized quail at the back of the store really got me in the mood. They have some cool men's blazers/jackets, but if you don't come wielding a 500 pound note, you'll left to just be browsing. The women's section was thin at best, and the overall selection in the store is very little. We left hanging our heads. It seemed the last man standing had fallen.

This little branch of Crew is spotlessly clean and staffed by extremely helpful and attentive…read morestaff. With barely enough room to swing a cat, they have done a very good job of getting as much stock on display as possible. The quality of the clothing can't be complained about, and you'll find that one in five denizens of the town is generally wearing one or more items of their clothing. Price wise, it's a little on the steep side. However, you do get what you pay for and the quality of the stuff is very good.

This unassuming shop-front - in need of a little TLC - hides a prestigious company who hand-make blazers and accessories primarily for the great and good who attend the regatta. Yes, everything is hand-made, and only the finest materials are used. Parking can be a bit iffy, but if you can afford their work, then your barrister will probably get the parking ticket thrown out anyway. Charming, old school and elegant. Top marks.

Not impressed…read more I've been to a few other Laura Ashley stores in my time and have generally been pretty pleased - and ended up walking out with something. This time, though, the Henley branch totally failed to impress. Yes, it's all very pretty. Yes, it's all very twee - but it all seems to be trying to be a bit too contemporary for it's own good. The store itself is laid out in quite an odd way, and I nearly caused a lot of damage trying to get seven year-old and scooter in, around and out of the shop. Could try harder!
