On May 31, had a severe abdominal pain accompanied with projectile vomiting; I called 911. The…read morerescue squad took me to Good Samaritan Hospital, West Palm Beach. By that time the pain had subsided. Hospital did not take any tests, recommended gastro physician and follow up with my GP. The next morning I called my CLEVELAND CLINIC in West Palm Beach, GP, Dr. Hoffman. Her assistant, Violetta said she was on vacation, and that they had the hospital info; she said she would call me back tomorrow as soon as she spoke with the Dr. covering for Dr. Hoffman. The next day June 2, Violetta called me, said she spoke with Dr. Hoffman, who was in. Assistant advised me that Dr. Hoffman said she would see me on next appointment, June 22, and that if I had more stomach problems to go to the ER, she was not going to address the stomach problem. I explained to the assistant that I could not use the ER as my GP, and that ER visits were expensive; I would be seeking another GP. I am so very disappointed after researching my symptoms, "Other conditions are more serious, and your provider may recommend treatment. It depends on the cause. Treatment may include: Over-the-counter medicines, like Pepto Bismol® Pain medication H2 blockers Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) Antibiotics IV fluids Tube feeding Surgery Cancer treatment" The above is from CLEVELAND CLI NIC web site. I tried to speak with the WPB CLEVELAND CLINIC Administrator, was told by Ashley that she did not have this information. I called CLEVELAND CLINIC'S headquarters in Ohio in order to advise them of the neglect I was getting from my GP in WPB. Apparently CLEVELAND CLINIC does not want to address complaint issues; the first person I spoke with, Brianna, hung up on me. I called back and spoke with a hostile Janine, who said she would have an ombudsman call me back. It is my opinion that DR. A. Hoffman and CLEVELAND CLINIC accepts Medicare and insurance but does not want to do what is necessary for their patients. I had another severe stomach pain attack on June 24. Now I am afraid to eat and am without medical resources.

I had an extremely distressing experience with Mauricio Melhado about 11 years ago that caused me…read morethe worst anxiety of my life. During the visit, I was told he was 95% certain I had a serious condition and was repeatedly pushed to undergo more and more tests, "insurance was paying" . When I declined one test, he said out loud in his office that I might die within a week. This was said without compassion and in a way that felt fear-based rather than patient centered. The same day, I sought a second opinion from another cardiologist in the same area, who examined me and told me there was nothing wrong and that I was healthy, thank God. That contrast made the experience even more alarming and confusing. The psychological impact of that encounter stayed with me for years. Regardless of clinical uncertainty, no patient should be pressured, frightened, or spoken to in such a way. Patients deserve empathy, balanced communication, and respect for informed consent unfortunately, that was not my experience.

I really like Dr Melhado (Heart Dr.)he is a quiet and kind Dr.. He seems to have found something I…read moredidn't not realize I had. One thing that is a real bummer is how long you have to Waite to be seen as well I have literally sat there for an hour and a half and I left before I was seen! The other thing is at times is trying to get someone to answer the phone, they have an answering service but, they do not take messages! Bottom line is I'll still go to Dr.Melhado
