What a great brunch place. Good selections and not too expensive. Service was excellent and a typical Palm Springs indoor outdoor vibe.

I recently had lunch here with a friend. Great court-yard patio scene on cool-mild days. The first time I ate at Jake's was in the early 2000s. I did not recall the gorgeous setting. Jake's is a beautiful place to dine. Now for the food. I really enjoyed the Seawich sandwich. A tempura- like filet sole. The fish is fresh and delicious with heirloom tomatoes, mixed greens, spicy Cole slaw, caper aioli, on a brioche bun. I was pleased to see a lot of greens in the sandwich. There is also a side of homemade chips. A yummy lunch. Peto, our server was excellent! Peto made sure that we were enjoying our meal and drink(s). Thank you Peto for the friendly and prompt table service! Up front, the hosts are friendly too. There is also dessert you can order to take home in the display cases. I would definitely return here for outdoor dining on a gorgeous cool- Palm Springs afternoon. A very nice bistro atmosphere.

The Good: Desserts looked amazing, but we didn't try any......Had a delicious strawberry-jalapeño margarita and dirty martini.....the olives appetizer made the table happy.....location was easier to find parking in the heart of the action in Palm Springs The Bad: Seabass was average at best, chicken fried devil-egged appetizer was "blah", Brussel Sprouts also average......$400 bill for 3 drinks, 3 appetizers and 3 entrees The Bottom Line: WAY, WAY overpriced for the quality

We love coming to Jake's. The service is terrific. For appetizer we shared the ahi tuna nachos. We ate it so fast I didn't get a picture. Great for sharing. For dinner my husband got the meatloaf again. I usually order Seabass but this time I tried the spicy shrimp pad tai. It was very flavorful. For desert we had a peanut butter fudge pie. Very rich, great with a cup of coffee. Next time I'm going to try the rigatoni.

We went to a lot of perfectly fine meals in Palm Springs, but few excellent ones. This brunch at Jake's was excellent. The ambience is really nice - a lot of little rooms that feel like separate but connected dining experiences - most of them indoor/outdoor. We sat outside on the Lanai which was quiet and pleasant. I had the OAXACAN OLD FASHION which was one of the best cocktails I have had in quite some time. Smoky, sweet, with actual squares of dark chocolate in it. Believe what the menu says about slow cocktail service - my drink did actually come out after my meal was halfway over, but it was a nice after service. I had the Monte Cubano for a meal - which was decadent - French and Cuban cuisine combined was rich and flavorful and filling. My spouse had the shrimp tacos which she really enjoyed.

Chocolate cake, coconut cake must try!

That said, if you're not a cigar person, this may be a "love it or leave it" atmosphere.
