What a great brunch place. Good selections and not too expensive. Service was excellent and a typical Palm Springs indoor outdoor vibe.

I recently had lunch here with a friend. Great court-yard patio scene on cool-mild days. The first time I ate at Jake's was in the early 2000s. I did not recall the gorgeous setting. Jake's is a beautiful place to dine. Now for the food. I really enjoyed the Seawich sandwich. A tempura- like filet sole. The fish is fresh and delicious with heirloom tomatoes, mixed greens, spicy Cole slaw, caper aioli, on a brioche bun. I was pleased to see a lot of greens in the sandwich. There is also a side of homemade chips. A yummy lunch. Peto, our server was excellent! Peto made sure that we were enjoying our meal and drink(s). Thank you Peto for the friendly and prompt table service! Up front, the hosts are friendly too. There is also dessert you can order to take home in the display cases. I would definitely return here for outdoor dining on a gorgeous cool- Palm Springs afternoon. A very nice bistro atmosphere.

The Good: Desserts looked amazing, but we didn't try any......Had a delicious strawberry-jalapeño margarita and dirty martini.....the olives appetizer made the table happy.....location was easier to find parking in the heart of the action in Palm Springs The Bad: Seabass was average at best, chicken fried devil-egged appetizer was "blah", Brussel Sprouts also average......$400 bill for 3 drinks, 3 appetizers and 3 entrees The Bottom Line: WAY, WAY overpriced for the quality

We love coming to Jake's. The service is terrific. For appetizer we shared the ahi tuna nachos. We ate it so fast I didn't get a picture. Great for sharing. For dinner my husband got the meatloaf again. I usually order Seabass but this time I tried the spicy shrimp pad tai. It was very flavorful. For desert we had a peanut butter fudge pie. Very rich, great with a cup of coffee. Next time I'm going to try the rigatoni.

We went to a lot of perfectly fine meals in Palm Springs, but few excellent ones. This brunch at Jake's was excellent. The ambience is really nice - a lot of little rooms that feel like separate but connected dining experiences - most of them indoor/outdoor. We sat outside on the Lanai which was quiet and pleasant. I had the OAXACAN OLD FASHION which was one of the best cocktails I have had in quite some time. Smoky, sweet, with actual squares of dark chocolate in it. Believe what the menu says about slow cocktail service - my drink did actually come out after my meal was halfway over, but it was a nice after service. I had the Monte Cubano for a meal - which was decadent - French and Cuban cuisine combined was rich and flavorful and filling. My spouse had the shrimp tacos which she really enjoyed.

Chocolate cake, coconut cake must try!

We took over ownership of Jake's in September of 2022! The previous owners did change the dressing on the baby gems salad. It has been changed back to the original dressing "Basil Caeser green goddess."

This meant Marilyns everywhere, including the waiters, which made the experience that much more fun. Aside from that, we had made reservations ahead of time thankfully, because it was BUSY. But we were sat just as soon as we had arrived, and despite it being very hot out at the time, they had a bunch of shaded spots with misting fans. The drinks were fantastic, including mine which was a zero-proof mocktail. We all ordered different chicken dishes, and each one received high praise. I was able to try each of them and I was very happy with my fajitas, but I gotta give the nachos their dues. They were just as good. Chips were crispy all the way through, and not one was soggy from all the ingredients. Loved it, will definitely be back when I visit again. Id also like to mention that we chose this place as my friend's Bachelor Party closing dinner, and he couldn't have been happier. He was so thrilled with how the weekend had gone, that dining at Clandestino's really was the cherry on top. Thank you for making our dining experience such a pleasant one.

We were immediately whisked away into a night of unrivaled service and culinary perfection. Tucked away in one of Palm Springs' most charming shopping plazas, this meal was easily the highlight of my week. The menu is brilliantly varied, but a few dishes truly stole the show. The grilled artichoke is a classic, but their execution of it is completely elite. The Halibut main was a revelation--hands down the best I've ever tasted. And you must save room for dessert because the Berries and Cream was worth every single bite. Absolutely delectable. Reservations are notoriously hard to get, but we got lucky with a last-minute walk-in and were seated after 15-20 min wait. There's plenty of parking, and if you do have to wait, they have a cute little covered outdoor seating area with chairs and tables where you can relax. We sat on the patio, which was surprisingly cool and comfortable, so don't let the Palm Springs heat scare you away. The whole restaurant has such a sexy, colorful, candlelit vibe that somehow feels both lively and intimate. We kept the drinks simple and ordered Hugo Spritzes, which were refreshing and perfectly made for a hot afternoon. What we ordered: * Caramelized Onion Tart (Puff pastry, chive, Comté) - This was recommended by our server and I can see why. It reminded me of French onion soup wrapped in a flaky puff pastry. Rich, savory, and definitely shareable since it is a bit on the heavier side. * Red Thai Curry Mussels (PEI mussels, ginger, garlic, lemongrass, red chile, coconut milk) - WOW. This was hands down my favorite dish. The broth was incredible, rich and packed with flavor without feeling too heavy. I was worried the lemongrass might overpower everything, but it was perfectly balanced. It comes with toasted bread and trust me, you'll want every last drop of that broth. I'd honestly come back just for this dish. * Steak Frites - The steak was cooked perfectly medium and was delicious. The fries were crispy and seasoned well, making it a classic done right. * Broccolini - Simple but really good with a nice char that added great flavor. Overall, we had a great experience. The atmosphere is one of the best parts..beautiful, moody, and full of personality..but the food absolutely held its own. Service was friendly, the patio was comfortable, and now I completely understand why it's one of Palm Springs' hardest reservations to get. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

If you didn't know better you'd think you were in LA in the summer, excepty for the bocce ball. They have an excellent selection of spirits, cocktails. Maybe a little varied, but decently creative. Sure you pay for everything for decor, glassware and not just spritis, but I recall wondering how they price their drinks becuase not everything is equal or standard mark up when some things aren't house made it's easy to cost out becuase you stop paying for creativity after a certain point. It feels like they took alot of Mr. Lyons business model and use that for pricing rather than a sole entity with their own margins. The service makes up for it, the ambiance makes up for it. It caught our attention as we had stayed in two different Kimpton Hotels in Seattle prior. We wanted to grab a drink at the Window Bar (not knowing that was its actual name, but the conversation we had with the bartender about that window shining too much light at certain parts of the morning definitely gave me a chuckle in hindsight). We happened to be a bit early since he had not been able to finish setting up shop yet. We went ahead and waited until he was ready without rushing him because we ourselves weren't in any rush at all. Surrounded by a ton of nice interesting artwork, it was a pure joy to enjoy a drink or two in this environment. The bar can be found at the corner on the other side of the hotel concierge in plain sight from such a big space for a lobby, directly left upon entrance through the front. Since it was slow in the morning, we were able to chat it up with the bartender and even explore a bit of experimentation in the form of a particular top secret cocktail that every mixologist knows. I definitely exercised my etiquette and reading the conditions to even suggest it. He couldn't be any nicer about our time with him. So yeah, Christopher H. from 9/9/18, I don't know what you're talking about. I make it a point to visit the bar at any Kimpton location nowadays. I always seem to have a good time.
