So we had to find somewhere to catch a coffee and it was too early for most of the chain coffee places. An independent is out of the question too where we were. So we hit food into our sat nav and here came up as being 5 miles from the port so coffees and toilet were the focus. It's an out of town drive thru which we opted to sit in. It was warm within with uncomfortable and unforgiving seating. We were daft enough to sit inside and order from the app. But it worked and worked well. We both decided to try their pancakes and the fatty pork patty. We opted for the food to come to our table and that either well as the server delivered to us. The pancakes came with 'syrup' another sugar solution and they had no butter which I find unacceptable. When the food arrived I realised I hadn't ordered coffees so one cappuccino and a white coffee totalled £2.68. Jib done. It's never enjoyable here rather it's the best of a bad lot and that's saying something. The only saving Grace is it's cheap.

The largest McDonald's in the city centre, it is on Lord Street, just a couple of minutes away from…read moreLime Street and Liverpool One. I mainly came here to grab a quick bite to eat, being on a limited time frame to get to Anfield. I do find the layout of this one to be a little odd, the majority of the seating is upstairs, with only a couple of high tables (without chairs), and bar-style seating, the latter can only accommodate two or three people downstairs. The area does look pretty good though, they've made it have a cool, funky feel to it, which is a little different from other McDonald's. Service is obviously pretty fast considering this store gets incredibly busy, again the layout is odd that they have two separate areas serving customers, both at opposite ends of the main counter, with one of the electronic screens not working, I had to hear a worker shouting from the other end of the restaurant with my order, I had no idea where to wait. The service felt pretty rushed, they put my unless double-cheeseburger in the standard burger box, rather than the standard fresh order box. This is one of my hates with McDonald's, as it makes it much messier and harder to eat. The food quality again was rushed, my food was lukewarm, and the fries seemed cold and a tad greasier than normal. 2* - Obviously useful to have this McDonald's store in the centre with a 24/7 opening, and the store does look pretty good but from having two separate order stations (even advising someone which one to go to), no seats for the downstairs tables (made worse by the lift being out of order) and rushed service and mediocre food by McDonald's standards, means I'm probably going to give this one a miss in the future.
