Love Jalapeño! We have been going there or ordering takeout since we have moved here in 2017. We have tried many other Mexican cuisine restaurants in the Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, Milton area and found them not to be very authentic, crowded/noisy and pricey. This spot has a wide menu of choices, varied flavor profiles and is the real deal. They don't sell any alcohol but BYOB is allowed. Their service is gracious and quick. Their storefront in downtown Georgetown has several booths for four, longer tables for larger groups, and a few window stools for singles. An amazing value and such wonderful food! read more

Omg, all my years of looking for Manudo Soup with cows feet i have found it. Just like I had in Guadalajara, Mexico and Reu, Guatemala.

Hidden in an unassuming main street storefront, behind a name that just screams "this is a chain restaurant!", we found the best Mexican food we've had yet. And we've eaten a lot of Mexican food. Don't just order from the wall photos, take the time to peruse the menu. The meals are authentic, delicious, and served quickly. The yellow rice is a welcome change from the more common red rice, too. My husband and I make excuses to go to Georgetown just so we can have lunch at Jalapenos. We are planning to have breakfast there soon because they have some awesome-sounding breakfast menu items, and I know that we won't be disappointed. read more

We came looking for a cheap, delicious dinner and we found it here! This place is a small, no frills restaurant with a handful of tables and street parking out front. Our server was so nice and accommodating and gestured for us to sit at one of the tables (because we weren't sure if we were supposed to order at the register). Their menu is pretty extensive, and they serve breakfast as well but we were only in town for one day, otherwise we definitely would have come back. Their tacos were amazingly priced and generously laden with toppings. Their homemade jalapeno sauce, which they served on the side, definitely had a kick to it! Not sure if they serve alcohol, since i didn't see any in the beverage fridge. We saw a few tourists stop by but leave after seeing the inside of the place. I guess it wasn't Americanized and upscale enough. Too bad, more tacos for me! Also saw a lot of people come by and pick up takeout orders. Love this place. I shoot pool at Georgetown Billiards and they don't serve food so we get take out here quite a bit. The pricing is great for the portions. The food itself is flavorful and its the spot. It is not like Chinese food after eating their food here I feel full and satisfied. Yes from time to time they forget to put in the sour cream a harmless mistake. I never have to wait long to be served or to pick up the food. And what I like most is... the short(ish) guy behind the counter, not sure if he is the owner or manager, always greets with a smile. Don't the name frighten you. This storefront serves flavorful, fresh Hispanic food without over-spicing it. Picante and hot sauce are available on the table, if you want to add some fire. The entrées are all made on-site. Ingredients are fresh, right down to the salad fixings, and well-prepared. We had the chicken fajitas and beef chimichanga. Both were delicious and good-sized portions. But be careful of the little grey-green 1 oz. cup that they put on the side; it is pure evil heat. Our server was pleasant and helpful. Spanish is not required; there are numerous photos and bi-lingual descriptions. The place is small; 10 or so tables. Ambiance is non-existent, but the place is clean and well-kept. Two entrées and beverages ran about $20, plus tip. No bar, not even a soda fountain. You pick your bottled drink from the upright cooler. Hours are 10:00 AM to 9:30 PM, seven days. I whole-heartedly recommend Jalopeno for terrific Hispanic food, lunch or dinner. read more

This is an authentic restaurant with staff keeping tables clean and taking orders. But the biggest challenge was the many flies. We ordered chicken fajitas and 2 fish and 2 beef tacos. The fajitas included good flavorful chicken with peppers and onions and small corn tortillas, liquidy retried beans which I skipped, yellow rice which was good and salad with dressing which I used on my fajitas. My husband did not like the soft corn tacos and said the tacos didn't taste good. They had too much guacamole. We liked that they had cans of coke and Pepsi . I saw a lot of ignorance from some customers due to fact that drinks are self serve . If you want a dining experience that is more 'American', go to a chain restaurant and have average food. However, if you want pleasant staff, generous portions, and great food, come here. I haven't ordered anything not from the breakfast menu (which I have been able to have all times of day) and I want to, but the divorced eggs are so good they keep on pulling me back. The grilled shrimp fajita was the best grilled shrimp we've had anywhere, plain or fancy. The beef burrito was slow stewed Chuck steak, not ground beef and it wasn't swimming in melted cheese. My family and I went here for lunch, it was so horrible we WILL NEVER go back! And the issues was due in part to the EXTREME linguistic issues to the point when I went to order a cheeseburger with ONLY cheese and mayo but instead I got a burger with cheese, mayo, lettuce, and tomatoes, but when I asked them to rectify the issue they just looked at me. And don't get me started about the "beef patty" it smelled so bad I could not eat it and I'm still not quite sure what it was.
