I would highly recommend JAM for any kind of roofing repair - five stars. For moss removal, you may want to look at alternatives. We contracted with JAM to repair wind damage to a portion of our roof, as well as a moss treatment. The estimator (Dan) was great. We were able to schedule an appointment within a few days of our call. He was delayed a bit on the day of the appointment, but kept us informed the whole way. He was thorough and clearly explained everything that needed to be done. The scheduler (Haley) was also great. We wanted to get the roof damage repaired before an upcoming rain event, and she was able to get that handled. She was also very accommodating when we requested a reschedule due to a conflict. The crew that came out to perform the roof repair was very friendly and professional. It was in a difficult area on our very steep roof, and they handled it without a problem. You can't even tell where the shingles were replaced. The job was completed the day before a significant thunderstorm! Unfortunately, the crew that came out to do the moss treatment struggled a bit. They really weren't prepared. We do have a steep roof, and it was a hot day - tough conditions. However, I would expect a professional roofing operation to be able to deal with that. One of the crew didn't seem like he was happy to be there and he wasn't shy letting us know about it. They did work hard, no doubt. A lot of the work involved installing safety anchors, which was great. They did get a lot of the moss removed, and did a bit of a messy job spraying the treatment chemical. They also left a bunch of moss debris on the back side of the house. One of the guys told me that they wouldn't be able to treat the moss on the garage roof (which was about a third of what needed to be done) because "there is no safe way to get up there." Really? I ended up putting a wire brush on a long pole and had it cleaned off in a couple of hours. The job got done, but lesson learned. read more

He did not over sell and estimated our needs correctly. The scheduler called to set the date for the job to begin and reassured us when we hesitated on the start date because of weather. Jam Roofing was a great roofing contractor to deal with. They are very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Zach came and gave us lots of information, brochures, material comparisons, and catalogs. He e-mailed 2 quotes that itemized every detail on what would be done from the start to finish. Everything was completed as stated. They replaced both our skylights along with the entire roof which really needed it. The crew showed up on time worked hard all day (even in the heat) and left our home every day better than it did when they arrived. The weather called for heavy rain over the weekend and we had some concerns, but after talking to Shawn, who took the time to explained the entire process to both of us at different times assured us that everything was going to be fine and it was. These guys might do good work, I wouldn't know as they keep delaying the job. They didnt tell me until after I signed a contract that they couldn't even start the job for MONTHS. Now there has been many more delays and soon the rain will start. Which is a problem when you need a whole new roof. So I guess the trick is getting them out to a job! read more

We recently needed to get our home reroofed so decided to get estimates from 4 roofers in our area. We had no knowledge about any of them. Basically looked in the phone book and called ones we had heard about or had seen their signs around town. Jam Roofing was by far the most professional and knowledgeable. They were in the middle cost wise, but they were head and shoulders above the rest. Case in point, 2 of the roofers gave estimates they scribbled on scratch paper while sitting in their trucks after climbing on the roof for 5 minutes. 1 said he would email his quote. He did...2 1/2 weeks later! And he was the most expensive! Kyle from Jam Roofing came out with literally a portfolio of product info, material comparisons, catalogs etc.,. along with an itemized estimate listing each and every option. Needed to have a cedar shake roof removed and replaced on two buildings with quality GAF shingles plus wanted a sun tunnel added and new gutters and downspouts.
