They offer a swimming pool, tennis, badminton and squash courts, trampolining, a well equipped gymnasium, fitness classes, a children's soft play area - Cheeky Charlie's, a creche, children's party facilities and much more. Entrance fees are affordable for a whole family and they even offer 'Advantage Card' discounts with the Advantage Card being a multi-discount card issued by the borough. Waterperry Gardens is more than only a place to buy your plants and to drink a cup of tea. You can walk arround in the different kind of gardens. If you're into your moutains, have a look at the rare alpine flowers in the alpine garden, or if you prefer your formal gardens, there's the obligatory area complete with statues. There are lots of borders of fruit trees and herbaceous plants, which bring lots of colour in summer. There isn't much information on anything outside, so I think it's more for a peaceful day out or people who know their plants. However, there is a museum of rural life, which is much more informative, and a Saxon church. All in all it makes a good half day out - a nice Sunday afternoon destination. The slide was closed when I was there, don't know why but it looked quite unstable. There were two guards watching the pool, which made me feel uncomfortable. It's very boring and small.

There's a bouncy castle, trampoline, slides, bubble machine that's switched on every now and then. Plus the staff bring sticks and hoola hoops out and you sit and sing the childrens' choice of nursery rhymes, which they love! There are morning and afternoon sessions depending on which day of the week you go. It's the same price, whatever time of the session you arrive so you can stay for just half an hour or a couple of hours although it's likely your little one (and you!) will be knackered after about 45 minutes and will have a good long nap when you get home (it's well worth the money just for that!) To find it, once you're in the leisure centre, follow the signs round past the main counter, to the left, turn right through the double doors, past the stairs, then turn the corner round to the left and then turn right and it's down the corridor. You'll probably have spotted the row of buggies outside it by this point. If you have one you'll need to leave it outside. Buzz the buzzer to be let in. You'll need to put shoes and coats etc in a tub (for obvious reasons you can't wear shoes in there) and if you want to take photos while you're in there you'll need to ask the staff for a form to fill in giving the names of the children you'll be photographing. Remember to take a snack and beaker for your child to have before or after as they'll be thirsty, and it's worth taking one for you too. Following your child around for that long is thirsty work.

There are 2 aerobic studios which are used for teaching various classes such as body combat, body attack, step, pilates, body balance. I recommend the Step class - a really good work out! All the instructions are good though. There is a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and spa. When you become a member you get several sessions with a personal trainer to sort out a programme, they are really friendly and helpful. They also have open weekends for the public, if you want to test out the facilities. Sometimes there are promotions when you can bring guests along and get day passes. The gym does get quite busy in the evenings, but day time isn't so bad. Lovely place to workout! The prices are quite reasonable and competitive.

There is also a baby changing unit and some hairdryers which are free (or were when i last went!) The swimming pool itself is rectanular with no fancy slides or anything but it is a good size. Its 50m with a gradual depth change. there are segregated lanes - both slow and fast for the differing degree of swimmer. That being. people can swim lengths without drifters getting in the way - and visa versa. Infact this pool is especially good if you are trying to exercise. Its usually a good temperature- not too hot or cold.
