We were fortunate to have James on-site for my son's birthday in Concord. His performance wowed all of our guests and kept the children (and adults) at the event quite entertained. James did walk around magic with small groups of guests, and also gave a performance in front of all of our guests. He's confident, respectful, funny, and extremely talented. A lot of our guests had reached out to us and complimented on how fun James' performance was and were interested in him for their own events. Would love for him to come out again for a future event if we host one. Scheduling James was pretty straightforward and everything can be done electronically. No complaints here. Great communication from beginning to end. James father called me back after my magic show inquiry and answered all my questions. He wasn't pushy and I appreciate his honest opinion and suggestions for my sons birthday party given the size and age range of the group. I booked James Chan Magician and his mom Kat who is an outstanding balloon artist. She gave my son a Harry Potter balloon that looks just like him. Everyone at the party said her balloons are the best they've ever seen. This talented duo entertained my audience of 50 people for over an hour. I highly recommend booking them together for your party. In these photos, you can see the kids in the front row having a blast. James not only performed in front of a big audience, but he also walked around to do magic tricks in small groups. My son felt very special after James gave him 1 on 1 attention and taught him some magic tricks. This was perfect for our Harry Potter themed party. We hired James and his dad Dan Chan for our son 8th birthday virtual party! Chan's magic show is fantastic, even via zoom it was extremely entertaining as the audience actively interacts with them online. When we were planning my son's birthday party I was in charge of one thing, booking the right entertainer to keep the children entertained and occupied so the adults could also have a good time. James and Dan magic show is interactive and keeps them fully engaged. The kids said things like "I had the BEST time!" and the adults said things like "Wow, this guy's great!" and "Whatever you're paying this guy, he's worth at least twice that." The tricks are so astonishing you can't get your head around it how these tricks can even be possible. Totally recommended, big fun for adults and children. Could not have been happier with the show we booked with James Chan. During the Christmas Season, we typically make it a point to visit with friends and family. 2020 being the year of social distancing that it has been, we wanted to find a way to share some Holiday cheer with our loved ones. In so many ways, James and his dad's performances were exactly what we were looking for. Pros: 1) Seamless and quick exchange of information: within hours Dan replied back to my inquiry with details of the packages available. He gave me a chance to read over the information first, so when we spoke I had a good sense of what I was looking for. Speaking to him gave me the reassurance that their act was what we were looking for. 2) Family business: the fact there was an option for James and Dan to perform together was great. Love how through the art of magic that they're able to share in some special moments together. It's inspiring and hopeful that our guests can also pick up on how unique of a situation this is. 3) Fun magic tricks: in trying to plan for an audience ranging from toddlers to adults to our elders, we thought a magic show would be an ideal fit. The magic tricks were amazing (and he juggles too!). Getting the audience to participate added to the fun. We felt connected with him and we know our guests were in awe. Some of our guests have already started to learn how to do some of their magic tricks. 4) Great Performance: James was perfect for our age group! Young enough to be cute to the older audience and young enough to connect with the kids watching. I especially liked this as my son is an aspiring entertainer. It's nice to have been able to show him a wonderful role model! 4) Excellent overall package: professional attire (Windsor knot tie from Dan and an all black outfit from James), stage effects (excellent sound effects and formal background), and communication (see point 1). They provided the Zoom link so we did not have to be mindful of time restraints that come with our complimentary Zoom account. On top of all of the above, they're sincere and a family of entertainers following their aspirations! Cons: none! All of the feedback from our guests have been positive and we're still getting compliments from the show. Highly recommend James and his dad for a performance! We hosted a virtual birthday party for our son, who turned 8 while social distancing restrictions limited the type of event we could hold. James performed an incredible act of juggling, magic, and even animal tricks for the party! We couldn't have asked for a better entertainer, and this was such an amazing way to add an element to the party that was simultaneously able to engage about 20 families joining the party from around the world. James was hilarious (making jokes that were funny for both the kids & adults!), his performance was flawless -- engaging members of the audience (to pick their a card, a number, say stop and more), performing card magic right up close in front of the camera and a fantastic interlocking rings trick while reciting poetry, to mention just a few. His instantly-likable personality made this such a hit, and he clearly enjoyed the whole performance immensely too! I also want to mention that, as a host to the zoom meeting, he ensured everyone could see what they needed to (setting spotlights on the right people), he took care of ensuring everyone had their names set on Zoom so he could call on them for participation, and had a fantastic stage & backdrop for the show -- if I had any doubt whether a virtual entertainment experience would be possible, James' show assured me that it certainly is, and our son, for the first time ever, had a birthday party where we were able to invite guests from 2 continents.
