You think with Covid restrictions and people not accepting cash anymore they would allow splitting the bill. I say just too lazy to be bothered with food quality and service

It's very clean, you feel underdressed when you go in, and it's just a wee bit more expensive than everywhere else. Having said that, it's nothing but quality within. At Lygon Street nursery you will find designer plants, mature fiddle lead figs without a spot on them and gorgeous, picture-perfect pots to boot. I popped in to find a Valentine's Day present for BAE (I say that, tongue-in-cheek) as he likes plants just as much as me. I spotted the most gorgeous chilli plants on the footpath out the front as I headed in and instantly knew that was the one - the perfect present, don't you think? The staff gave me some great tips to keep the little guy alive - they definitely know what they're talking about. While I didn't spot any succulents, I suspect they all lay out the back in the outdoor section, which I did not venture out to. All-in-all, a terrific nursery with absolutely perfect plants.

It has lots of flowers on display and the wrapping is always done well. The florists are often at work in a back room so it can be a little disconcerting to walk in and find nobody around. Generally though someone should come out within a minute or so. Apart from that, the service here is generally pretty good. The shop itself is really sweet. It is painted a light green colour and it really complements the flowers. They do same and next day delivery and are really good at keeping to your specifications. Postage is a flat $12, which I think is pretty high. As well as flowers they also stock balloons in three different sizes, bears, gourmet hampers and giftware. I tend to visit when I am on my way to a housewarming or party and I have forgotten to get someone a gift. There is something suitable here for just about any situation!

What would we do on our weekends if you didn't exist?…read moreNewly, well almost a year old now, purpose built location several metres down from its older premise, this Bunnings packs a punch and is always buzzing with activity during the week and definitely the weekends. It's a full range store, with a trade area attached to it. Sausage sizzle on every weekend shows the involvement and support of its local community. Now who can resist that?! I usually hit up this place for its comprehensive garden and plant range. What's nice is that the outdoor garden centre also has two checkouts and a entry/ exit so you can wheel your trolley of mulch, dynamic lifter, pots and plants straight out to your parked car just right outside. The staff are always on hand, cheerful and ever ready to answer your questions or direct you to the next best person who can. It's a nice seasonal indication too, you'll know just by looking at what's on offer in abundance, indicating the coming season and every time you visit there's bound to be something on special. This store also has a small cafe and playground towards the end where outdoor furniture meets garden centre is. As you would expect, things are well laid out and sign posted although as its a huge, huge store, I usually just ask the staff specifically where the things I'm looking for are. Whilst Bunnings is strictly not high-end, majority of the products are of very high quality and you do get named brands as well. This place, continues to bleed me dry on the weekends! How could you not buy at least something when you come here?!

The front display is of a white Xmas, with singing and musical Santa's, white Xmas trees and other trinkets perfect for the Xmas tree. There are so many beautiful bits and pieces (think candles, door hooks, tea towels, cacti, hand cream, bags) in this shop. If you ever need a birthday/housewarming/christmas/anything present for a girl, you'll be able to find it here. Not to mention the bunch of flowers that you thought would be the perfect addition to your present just because. I never seem to escape empty handed.
