The Unabridged Review: In January 2020 I sought out Dr. Handler for Active Release Therapy due to iliopsoas tendonitis. Originally, I intended to receive 12 office visits with him; however, COVID19 interrupted those plans, and managed to get eight visits in before NYS went on "pause." That being said, Dr. Handler helped me by providing the ART treatments themselves, as well as specific exercises to be done at home. Additionally, Dr. Handler also provided cupping therapy, as well as chiropractic adjustments as part of my treatment plan. During the shut down, the exercises at home, along with the "contact avoidance" I was avoiding grabbing railings to get up and down stairs, I have experienced a more pronounced improvement in my conditions. While my issues aren't 100% resolved (and doubtful they ever will be completely 100% resolved), Dr. Handler was able to provide effective pain relief and improved mobility in a more obvious way where ART from another practitioner, as well as various injections from physiatrists failed. The pain just got worse and worse and I then sought out pain management options. Over a period of ten years I had a procedure called radio frequency oblation which had to be done every 9 months. Not fun. After my last pain management procedure in 2009, it no longer worked. I was desperate and in excruciating pain with limited mobility . I found Dr. Caruso on the web and saw he had spinal decompression. When I came in for my appointment he said that he felt he could help me and frankly , I figured what choice did I have. After 3-4 weeks my symptoms started to get better. I continued coming 3x a week for a few months and I just got better and better. Then I went to once a week and then now just maintenance . Every single one came off as a car salesman more invested in milking me for all my money than improving my health. I experienced shocking tactics from these "chiropractors" from free visits in exchange for 5 star reviews, to locking me into a payment plan for the next year of care (regardless of if I would respond to treatment), to charging me $300 for an xray before they would adjust me just to adjust me anyway after I refused.
