I've been going to Jamie since 2020. For years I'd get my hair cut and regardless of what I said, no one would cut my hair just right. Jamie did from day one! Jamie is a doll. I have followed her since she was at the Carlton Salon in Brea and she is the only one I trust to do the amazing coloring with my hair. I used to stick to predominantly box dye after it had become so expensive to maintain in a salon with dyes that would quickly wash out. She has done everything from a believable balayage to my crazy purple extensions. She is extremely realistic in the expectations for my hair, letting me know when results are achievable or when it may take a few visits before reaching the final look. I went to get my hair colored for the first time and after doing a lot of research and yelping I stumbled upon Jamie! I was quite nervous when I first went in since it was my first time getting my hair colored, but as soon as I started talking to Jamie she gave me so much insight on hair coloring that I started to feel more relaxed. Jamie also was able to give very realistic advice such as what shouldn't be done to your hair and what would help your hair. The entire hair coloring process took around 5 hours but it was definately worth it since Jamie took such great care of my hair, which was virgin asian black hair. After meeting Jaime, I was instantly comforted by the fact that she totally understood what I wanted for my brassy, boring, brunette hair although, I didn't even know. I have to admit I wasn't quite sure what I was walking into, and the fact that the 5 star review is making me a bit nervous. No one, I mean no one had any bad experience? Really? But boy am I glad I gave it a try. We had a few text messages exchanged before the appointment, but mainly because I had to cancel my previous appointment. I asked Jamie via text what is best (subtle yet awesome) for a cubicle job, and she gave me her honest opinion. I decided to go with ombré purple, and it was the best color option I had (ever!). Jamie is awesome! I have always been cautious of who I let work on my hair because I feel it's very thin. I don't want some hipster hairstyle to try something new on me and leave me feeling more bald than I did in the beginning. Ok so maybe I'm exaggerating...I'm not really thinning or balding but I do lack volume. I'm paranoid because my hair is usually in a vintage style. I love to have it in victory rolls or just a simple pomp. I takes years to train your hair to achieve some of these styles so I don't really allow anyone to touch it. I recently graduated from nursing school. To my dismay I was required to wear that horrible yet traditional white nurses dress and flying nun hat. I was dreading graduation day because I didn't want to look like a fool in that get up. After almost giving up on trying to pull my look together I gave Jamie a call hoping her skills could help me. So why is Jamie awesome??? I'll tell you why! She saw me last minute and achieved greatness. I had envisioned myself looking like the ladies with the cans collecting change in front of Wal-Mart wearing fake nursing outfits but she turned me into Nurse Betty from the movie Pearl Harbor. It's one of my proudest moments and I looked great. I knew from the get go that vintage/pinup hairstyles weren't Jamie's forte but she rose to the occasion putting her skills to good use. She can visualize what you're thinking and create it on your head with perfection. She never afraid to tackle what you might think is impossible.
