This was my first time visiting Jams. The ambiance was beautiful. All of the greenery made the space very inviting. Service was decent. We opted for the prix fixe menu since we were a party of 11. A little disappointed that we weren't actually served all of the courses on the preselected menu and then we were told the kitchen was closed. They attempted to remedy the situation by telling us they would reduce the prix fixe menu price per person but that didn't happen either. Not a terrible experience just unfortunate that small things like this put a slight damper on our experience, especially being that we had made our reservation well in advance and our party size was listed. Food was good, I just wouldn't come here with a large group.

This is a beautiful space! Plenty of open seating and tables available. There are tvs at the bar to watch games, however, there is only 1 restroom available on the main floor. Service was fast and drinks were good.

Fresh food that tastes absolutely delicious right at the bottom of the 1 Central Park Hotel!

Nice brunch spot! Good food, city prices, fun experience. Jams is located in a hotel by Central Park which makes for a great location to take a stroll after a meal. First come first serve at the bar which is where we sat and were greeted by bartenders who were really nice and attentive! The service was great. We ordered the BEC, spring frittata, and flatbread. The flatbread was so yummy. The frittata was fresh too, a bit salty. And the BEC and ketchup that came with the hash was great! Very lively and open space. I'd recommend if you're looking for a meal.

Love the vibe here! Plants everywhere for a drink of fresh air! Food was amazing but a little pricey. $35 for brunch. Matcha latte could have been sweeter. But overall great food and great service!

Great little breakfast spot just south of Central Park, and a solid option for starting our day off right to tour the park. We enjoyed the bacon and eggs, French toast and the açaí bowl. All good choices. I was hoping the peanut butter açaí bowl would be less chocolatey and more peanut butter (protein) but it hit the spot. The espresso drinks were quality and gave us a boost. The sort of surprise is that they ask for sparkling or flat and bring you full size large bottles which can add to the final bill. I am sure we could have waved off and ask for "tap" as true NYers have told me. Anyway... I would return to this place. I also love the decor with live plants everywhere and the quirky lobby art including a DC and a large Nail art. The restrooms upstairs are a little odd to locate, but clean.

Oh man, I really wanted to love this place...and continue my streak of giving 5-star reviews. I know, it's so boring reading my reviews because they're mostly all 5-stars...and that is because I do a lot of research to pick mostly amazing places... And well, I didn't pick our dinner spot myself a week and a half ago while I was in town on business, but I was excited to try James Beard winner Jonathan Waxman's beautiful restaurant. My buddy/client picked it and naturally, for good reason. The place itself is gorgeous, full of lush greenery, and the staff friendly and attentive. Cocktail list is nice and creative and the menu is nice as well. We had limited time so we decided to order a bunch of apps and well, they just didn't blow me away as I would expect from a James Beard award winner, I'm very sorry to say. We ordered the following: Autumn Flatbread ($28 - Stracciatella, Fig, Arugula, Garlic Cream, Onion Jam, Aged Balsamic) - This actually was quite fantastic but we ordered a lot of apps so I stretched and was able to fit a couple slices in. Whipped Ricotta Dip ($22 - Hot Chili Honey, Rosemary, Sourdough) - This was good if a bit on the sweeter side. I had several bites and did enjoy it. $22, though? I dunno...almost seemed like a dessert. Still, pretty underwhelming. Maplebrook Burrata ($27 - Delicata Squash, Pomegranate, Pistachio, Aged Balsamic) - This was good, not amazing. The burrata was good, just like many I have had. The squash wasn't great and seemed a bit heavy with the delicate burrata; for the price, I would have just preferred some really nice, juicy and meaty tomatoes but I do appreciate trying to go for something different. Crispy Brussel Sprouts ($14 - Smoked Bacon Jam, Parmesan) - I always love crispy brussel sprouts. I had one recently in Connecticut with hoisin sauce at a little pub and that one could have been my absolute favorite. This one was tasty but didn't stand out. Autumn Crudite ($19 - Hummus with vegetables and green goddess dips) - I actually didn't try this. Looked quite average. I am sad to write a 3-star review for this place because I really expected to be blown away. Maybe I'm being a little harsh based on my expectations for a James Beard award winner's restaurant. I dunno...the interior is beautiful and I would have liked to have tried an entree but I'd expect again, that it wouldn't blow me away. Still, that flatbread was fantastic. Maybe YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary) and you'll have a better experience than me. The company I was in, my friend and client was fantastic...the food...eh. MAYBE GIVE IT A SHOT. Don't kill yerself if 'ya miss it.

Brioche French toast & BEC. Mom got the lobster Benedict. Dad got the full brunch and didn't even offer anyone anything.

So yummy! Brioche french toast. Bec. Lobster Benedict. Full brunch. Yum! Parents loved it.

Jams was decided as we were in Manhattan hotel and just wanted an amazing start of the day with good brunch ! I randomly picked it and was an ultimate treat It is also a hotel and a restaurant . I was lucky to get a reservation on a short notice . The place is like Amazon forest amazingly decorated and very fancy The food was really good . Would highly recommend it

What a beautiful vibe this place is. Awesome mixologists, the best calamari I've had in my life, a masterful DJ... and the plants, THE PLANTS. Chef's kisses to everyone at Jams

Stopped by here for a quick bite while waiting for dinner. We happened to get there during their shake and shell time which kinda they're happy hour - drinks and oysters are special price. We were seated right away, lots of folks are there for HH. Vibes were vibing. Our server came pretty quickly and our food too. Since this is an in between meal for us - we only got oyster and they're jams kale salad which is TDF!!!! It's flavorful in every bite and all the right texture! The cafe is cute too and they have a good cocktail list. Come visit them if you're in the area

Came for thanksgiving brunch. Ambiance is nice and hotel is located in a great viewing spot for Macys thanksgiving day parade. The brunch offerings were good but not anything out of the ordinary. Service was consistent and the drinks were good. The hotel is also nicely decorated.

Shakshuka with an order of toast on the side
    Amanda M.

This was an interesting brunch. I loved the interior with all of the greenery. It was blustery day and it felt nice to sit inside and get a dose of spring & summer vibes. Shakshuka is one of my all time favorite dishes and I had never heard of "green" shakshuka so I decided to give it a go. Rather than a sauce with gooey eggs cooked into it on top, this dish was served with the eggs on the bottom and sautéed greens on top. I appreciated that the eggs were still a bit gooey and it was an interesting combination of flavors and textures. Not sure why it isn't served with toast so I ordered that on the side so I had something to scoop the concoction onto. This felt like a relatively healthy brunch and kept me feeling light on my feet for the rest of the busy day of walking around Manhattan. Coffee was just fine but service could have been more attentive. I couldn't figure out if there was a shift change while we were there and our server went home or who our actual server was, but it seems like we flagged someone different down every time.

As we had our cocktails we discussed going somewhere else as the vibe was flat. But my husband convinced me to stay as it's already 8:30. Both failed epically. The bone marrow was inedible as it was like cold custard. Escargot had zero flavor and a real lack of garlic and good butter. Tasted more like vegetable oil than good butter. We shared the lobster pasta entree. Tasted more like Mexican goulash. No Italian flavors to be found in the sauce. Never once did the nameless waiter stop and inquire about our meal. Just all around a poor experience and a disappointing Friday night. There are far better places that appreciate your patronage. We will not be coming back. Not worth it.

The ambiance feels straight of the golden age, which is an aesthetic I'm certainly a sucker for. Even their robust cocktail menu fits the bill and is one of the prettiest menus I've ever had the joy of perusing. Staff was able to sit us a little bit ahead of our reservation which was also much appreciated. Wait staff was also very helpful and attentive, I don't think I've ever had my water glass so topped off! Starting off with cocktails, this place is a gin bar through and through and you'd be making a mistake if you didn't try one of their many options. I went with the 10,000 words, which you simply just give a spirit of your choice (I picked gin of course) and whether you antes) wanted your drink shaken or stirred and the bartender does the rest, so a bit of a surprise! I wound up with their version of The Last Word which was delightfully citrusy but I was hoping I'd wind up with something a little more adventurous app things considered. My girlfriend got the blackberry G&T, which was not only very pleasing to look at but delicious to boot. For food, we started with splitting some zucchini blossoms and beef cheek bao buns (both come in portions of 3). Both were tasty, but I love a good bao bun and these were so light and pillowy, I could have just went for an order of those for my main course. For the entree I went for the roasted half chicken, perhaps the most unassuming choice on the menu but this was maybe the best roast chicken I've ever had. Prepared perfectly, cooked to perfection, excellent portion size, and the kicker of it all was the stunning gravy that I was tempted to lick my plate for. Chicken is very easy to screw up, and they nailed it on all fronts here. My girlfriend went for the Valerie Signature burger with white cheddar and this thing did not mess around! A very rich patty, cooked to her temperature of choice served alongside some garlic truffle fries that made an American classic feel just a little more elevated. Our experience was delightful and I'd love to comeback here again, especially to check out more of the cocktail menu and soak in more of that golden age aura the place gives.

We actually stumbled into Tanner Smith's thinking it'd be the typical, boring bar-food spot. Nope. They first sat us at a hi-top by the door, but that wasn't our vibe, so we grabbed seats at the bar instead. Best decision. Our bartender, Josiah, was absolutely killing it. My cocktail had passion fruit, so of course I asked my usual question: "But is it real passion fruit?" He just nodded in agreement and that told me everything I needed to know. That drink was legit and had nice strength. The food was great too. My fish tacos were packed with fresh fish, the guacamole and salsa were chunky and full of flavor and hubs enjoyed his pastrami sandwich. The flavor was flawless, and while the portion was small (which was acceptable), the pool of broth accompanying it was completely unnecessary; it was inedibly salty, so what was the point of serving it? It's also hard to get a reservation; the place was packed when we had lunch at 2 PM. We were already inside MOMA and entered via the inside entrance with a guard and a huge door. Since we arrived at 5pm when they opened we were led to a seated waiting area and provided cold water (a 100F day) and a smaller drink menu. Within a few minutes the main dining room was ready for us and we were led to a three quarter moon seat with a table facing the MOMA outdoor sculpture garden. This room was glorious with its high ceiling and cobalt blue paint and an impressive massive floral arrangements. There were plenty of museum visitors still outside wandering about in the sculpture garden. Each and every staff were wonderful in their friendly welcoming stance and conversations. Having perused their voluminous wine selection online ahead of time (an excellent thing to do ahead of time to avoid last minute decisions) we placed our wine order with the sommelier. Then there was the choice between the two menus, one obviously more expansive in offerings and the price. Since NYC was experiencing our extreme heatwave we opted for the smaller menu, which was totally sufficient and very filling. Most of the time, restaurant tasting menus have words and phrases that "sound" so inviting but wind up being a huge disappointment. However, words here really don't do justice as a description. The menu seemed simple and basic enough: "radish, shiso* crispy ham and cheese; hiramasa and garden peas; sea bass, crab and squash blossom; halibut, tomatoes, sweet corn broth or chicken and red wine braised celeriac; berries and cacao -- Impressions Menu -- 'a glimpse, capturing a moment' $175 (discovery 115 * reserve 295)". Prior to ordering we were informed that both of us had to order the same menu but that we had the option to sub and add on from the expansive menu--which we did with the eggs on eggs on eggs dish, as well as my choice of the lamb. Their signature dish--Eggs on eggs on eggs: a must have to add on this special course with caviar ($50/order). The dish is small, precious and very rich and was positively impressionable. That's the dish I go away with thinking about the restaurant. It came with a stick of toasted brioche to sop up the runny yolk and the caviar (which was neither fishy or salty). I would note the dish was served with caviar spoon. Staff knew enough that after we started eating this they brought an extra set of two more buttered toast sticks. Paired with our all Pinot champagne it was a magical combo. This is the kind of patron mind reading that differentiated a Michelin star restaurant. As the executive chef described the dish: "At the bottom of the bowl is a fried egg sauce, and is broken with a dill oil; second egg is a poached egg yolk (poached in a saline solution just so they are warmed through...we want the yolk to spill through the sauce...). We finish this dish with pickled shallots and more fresh dill for acidity and freshness, and drop a huge spoonful of caviar on top." The amuse was a great way to start especially with the pairing of our champagne. In lieu of the halibut in the Impressions menu I added the lamb from the other menu. Although it was only one piece in the rack of lamb it was terrific with the crunchy maitake mushroom and tasty sauce. The sommelier was excellent and professional without being pretentious -- as well as every single staff that greeted us and served us along the way. THIS Is what one should expect from a two star Michelin restaurant. I tasted the halibut from my wife and it seemed to be slightly under seasoned, though it had a decent sear. Service was perfection. They did not disappoint and I will be back!

Thanks to my fellow Yelpers, I was lead to this great spot for a late dinner and cocktails on a Friday night. The hostess was really friendly and quicky sat us at a two seater near the bar, which we appreciated. The ambiance was light and friendly and they even had a DJ playing all the good jams! I think I danced a bit, (definitely liquid courage). The DJ read the room and created a fun ambiance. The waitress came over a few minutes later and quickly took our drink and meal order. We ordered the Tuna Crispy Rice ( Yum), Guinness Wager Sliders (Nom Nom), Korean Chicken Boas (My Favorite!) and Carnitas Tacos.....I'm embarrassed to admit that we cleaned our plates like a couple of savages. Bartley Dunnes is a great choice to come solo, meet up with friends or come as a group of no more than 4, unless you make a reservation. They have a second floor that I unfortunately didn't get a chance to check out, so I can't write about that. However, I did see people coming and going straight up. I'll be back!

They have a great happy hour running from open until 8 PM, including $6 beers and $8 cocktails, which is a great deal for the area. ordered the Bartleys Spritz (Aperol Spritz) and a Tequila Mule. We sat at the bar, which runs about half the length of the space, and there were also plenty of tables throughout. The back section of the bar feels a bit separated from the main entrance area. There are some TVs throughout, and everything inside seemed fairly new and well maintained. It was not very crowded on a Tuesday early evening, so service was quick and the staff was very friendly. We did not order food this time, but everything coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled great. Overall, I would definitely recommend this spot for happy hour drinks in the MoMA/Midtown West area.
