They host several dance troupes in town, including Gris Gris Strut, the NOLA Jitterbugs and my favorite, The NOLA Chorus Girls Project, of which I was a member for a hot second before realizing my travel schedule wouldn't permit me to participate regularly. I can't attest to the awesomeness of all of the teachers/classes, however what I love about this studio are the gorgeous wood floors (nice to dance on!) and wall-to-wall mirrors (nice to spot to yourself when doing spinny spins etc. and admire/clean-up your form). It also feels very much like a community space, with very reasonable rental rates for private lessons and if you would like to offer up a class yourself. The art is in a warehouse. So if it's hot and humid outside, you will likely also feel that way inside also. So bring water or wait until the weather has cooled down later in the year.

There are restrooms with handicapped access and changing tables. I feel like it would be a great space for a rave... if those were still a thing. For the event last night they had set up a couple of tables with beverages and snacks. Parking is where the Thursday afternoon farmer's market normally is, or across from the Parkway Bakery parking lot.

I found out the space is available for private event rentals and you can also enjoy a complimentary drink! Drinks and Art is seriously the way to my heart. From $30 to the thousands, there is something in everyone's budget to take home a piece of Josh Wingerter's art. You can actually purchase a spray can that he actually uses for his artwork covered in one of his signature prints for $30. It's such a cool concept and a great way to reduce, reuse, recycle. Eco-friendly Art for the win! While I was walking around I discovered he does a lot of community outreach and is actually from Westwego. It makes total sense as to why he wanted to come back home. Josh Wingerter has actually displayed his work and done galleries all over the world including Art Basel in Miami. I'm really excited to follow him on social media and come back for future events! He was the artist of the infamous Blue Dog, among many other pieces. In the French Quarter you can find his art gallery, Rodrigue Studio. His art, including the Blue Dog can be described as Pop Art. The Blue Dog is a terrier spaniel, with bright yellow eyes, and a surprised look on his face. There is no admission fee for the gallery. You can go on a self guided tour. There are so many variations of the Blue Dog, with a variety of settings and sometimes he might be red or yellow. A Blue Dog print will run you $2000.00 and up. I can't imagine the cost of one of Rodrigue's original works. If you love pop art, or if you're curious in the beautiful and very colorful works of George Rodrigue, I would highly suggest you check out his art gallery. You will leave with a clear, optimistic mindset.
