I was genuinely excited to come here because this place came highly recommended. Unfortunately, our night ended before it even started. We were denied entry because security told us we couldn't come in wearing white T-shirts. The problem is that multiple people standing directly in front of us were wearing white T-shirts and were allowed inside without any issue. Ours were clean, fitted, cropped tees--not baggy or inappropriate. Because the rule was clearly not being applied equally, the entire interaction left me feeling very, very, very homophobic. I can't say what was in anyone's heart, but I can absolutely say that's how the experience made me feel. It's hard not to question why the rules suddenly applied to us while others wearing the same thing walked right in. We came ready to spend money, have a good time, and support the business. Instead, we left feeling singled out and unwelcome. Whether it was poor judgment by security or something deeper, no customer should leave feeling that way. Nashville has too many amazing places that make everyone feel welcome. Unfortunately, Jar 10 wasn't one of them for us. Coming from NY that was a plus she was wonderful, very professional, and attentive which we appreciated. The DJ was good but should accommodate to guest i.e. Out of towners; not have a pissing contest. Saying things like, " they don't know this song or don't ask me for any request." And being a smart ass. That's very unprofessional and unproductive. Especially this was our first time visiting. As a Dj you shouldn't be bias, just play music and make people feel good. The Friday night Dj was better who played for EVERYONE. Aside from that eventing was great. From the security who was thoughtfull enough to ask about storing my friends bags, to Courtney making sure we didn't have food allergies, to the food, and mimosas. Darryl is the only reason why this place is getting a 3/5 instead of a 2 he literally saved my mom's birthday. We made reservations for 8 PM reservations that they are strict about if you're more than 15 minutes late they charge your card $20 per person! We get there and they had a private party going on that was supposed to be over at 8. They said we can go next door to their sister bar mind you we're from out of town so we don't know where that is. We get walked over there and there is no seats open and nothing available. We didn't end up sitting down until 9 PM we're dressed up with heels on so you can only imagine our frustration. The private party ran over and they didn't end up all leaving until 9:45. It didn't show they were having a private party on their website which was the most annoying part. Darryl did everything he could to try and accommodate us. The food was really good and didn't take too long. I also ordered hookah which I had to ask for the coal to be changed. The drinks were good and the music was amazing. DJ ended up shouting out my mom for her birthday. Also at 10 it basically turns into a club and all small tables have to have a $300 minimum of food and drinks to continue sitting there. Brunch was so good! If you're looking for brunch with a vibe, this is your spot. The dj was good & had everyone dancing. The food from Butterfly Garden did not disappoint. The family style brunch was really good but a lot of food so pace yourself. Just give me the shrimp and grits because that was one of the best I've had. There was plenty of street parking around the area and some paid lots nearby. It's in a walkable area so you can walk those mimosas off afterwards if you need to. Our waitress, Pucci, was amazing. This was my first coming to Butterfly Garden and we had a time! Not only was the atmosphere lit and the food delicious, but we also had great service. It is loud and it's just one big party, so if you're not into that, you may not enjoy it as much. Our waitress Pucci took very good care of us. I will definitely be back. The food at Jar 10 was good, but the service from our waitress Makiya really dragged the experience down. From the start Makiya came off as very standoffish and disengaged. She wasn't attentive, didn't check in consistently and seemed bothered anytime we needed something. We repeatedly had to ask other servers for help because Makiya was nowhere to be found or simply didn't follow through. It's hard to enjoy a meal when your own server feels touch and go and you have to rely on other staff to get basic things done. Jar 10 has solid food, but service like this especially from someone like Makiya takes away from the entire experience. If the service were more consistent and welcoming, this place could be much better. As it stands, the food doesn't fully make up for the poor waitressing. read more

First visit to Nashville this past weekend and Jar10 was literally my favorite experience. We did a lot of cool things and had a blast but the brunch event we attended at Jar10 on Saturday took the cake. Although the establishment is small, the ambiance is beautiful. We were quickly seated in a round booth with velvet like seating. The only thing I didn't like was the table wobbled a bit, which if not careful could cause the drinks to spill. Aside from that, everything was perfect. The unlimited brunch was $60 per person but the food and mimosas were unlimited. Literally EVERY piece of food that touched our table was delicious. We had turkey sausage, bacon, french toast, shrimp+grits, breakfast potatoes, cat fish, corn bread, collard greens, and henny wings. Mac & cheese was on the menu but they didnt have it available. Everything arrived Hot & Fresh off the grill hunny! Oh and the service is just as good if not better than the food. We had the pleasure of being served by KJ who took such amazing care of us. She ensured our plates & glasses were full and that the vibes were unmatched. The DJ played hit after hit and it was overall just a great time. I have tried to give this place chance after chance. I love trying to bring my out-of-town friends here because I want them to experience my culture and the things that I love about Nashville. And if I'm by myself, I have no issues. Three different occasions, I have tried to bring my friends here or recommend this spot. My white friend who came with us was singled out. The really short man with the bad hairline that was a bar back, was giving a hard time about getting her chair. At the time there was only her and one of the white person in there. They asked her to take her seat but did not ask the parties on either side of her first. He specifically came to her. Ignoring me and the rest of the bar with other parties. Myself included. I overheard her ask if he had asked anyone else about their chairs yet and he said no so why of all people are you going to start 3/4 of the way down the bar and single her out. She had previously had ankle surgery and was still coming out for me to have a good time. He was in compassionate and cold. My friend ended up leaving. She asked what his name was and he would not comply. The last time I came in here and brought white friends they downgraded us from the booth that we had reserved and no reason was given. It's just really disappointing that I can't share my culture with others. Do yourself a favor, spread the word and go somewhere else. read more

We were 30 mins late for our reservation at 1630. The gentleman at the door said we could only keep our table for an hour, so we had to be done by 1800 or spend $220. We decided to just have drinks and then leave to go elsewhere. It wasn't busy inside. There were empty tables and there wasn't a line so we didn't understand why there was an hour time limit. Cam saved the day! She told us she wouldn't limit out time and require us to spend $220 (my bill came out that high anyway for just two people in a party of 6). So I will say it is "different" than what I expected. You enter at the front and "check-in" at the back to get a seat. Yep interesting because no one tells you so you hang stand at the front for a minute looking lost. We had a party of 4 adults ranging from 40 years old to 48 years old. We originally were going to the other location (Butterfly Garden) in Nolensville but were notified the brunch had been "moved" to this location. My expectation was 1) Jazzy-R&B vibe with a live performer or group 2) 5 course of actual servings given the price per person 3) a signature bottomless mimosa. What I experienced--1) sports bar with rather loud rap music by a DJ 2) tastings of 5 food items just enough to make sure you have food on your stomach for the alcohol 3) pitchers of 3-4 basic flavors of mimosas but nothing special. This particular day was passion fruit; pineapple; strawberry; orange. Service was just average. They bring the food in stages as expected for a multiple course meal; they seem to prefer that you pick a flavor of mimosa to serve yourself for the refills until the pitcher is empty. The good--time with family and a few good laughs especially after the 3rd glass. Food wasn't bad just thought there would be more for the cost. My rating would actually be 3.5 star but ol' Yelp still doesn't give that option but not quite a 4 so IIWII. I would say it is a great option for those who still enjoy the club life but in the daytime. read more

The quality of food and customer service at the "Butterfly Garden" has declined significantly since its relocation to Jar 10. Before the move, it was a five-star restaurant, but my experiences have consistently deteriorated ever since. I've visited the new location three to four times, and each time, the service has worsened. At the previous location, everyone at the table was served their own portion of the courses that came out, except for the chicken and waffles with fruit. Now, everything is served family-style, and you get one plate per person to eat all five courses off of. I don't know about you, but I don't want to eat my catfish greens and macaroni and cheese on the same plate that I've eaten fruit and chicken and waffles on. When you ask for additional plates, the waitress gets an attitude. During my last visit, I made a reservation for 2:45 p.m. The experience was supposed to include unlimited five courses and unlimited mimosas for two hours. However, after we were seated, they informed us that the kitchen would close at 3:30 p.m., and we wouldn't be able to enjoy the two-hour unlimited brunch we had paid for. They brought all of the courses out at one time which led to the majority of the food being cold by the time that we got around to try everything. We received one round of the courses it was not unlimited. The advertised price of $60 is incorrect; I've always paid $75. Some positives I can state is that the DJ is the highlight of the experience.
