You'll see people walking their dogs, joggers in the jogging lane, and bicyclists in their own lane on the pedestrian walkway closest to the river. All parts of this park are utilized for various activities. Many people just lay on the grass on beautiful sunny days to bask in the sun. The left bank of the river is the most popular place to be. By midday, it's full of people walking through it to get to the castle. There are vendors selling snacks, drinks, and souvenirs, as well as floating restaurants that open for lunch & dinner along Bulwar Czerwieński. You can also book a river cruise from this location. We just happened to see the Avenue of Stars while passing through from a different direction. There were all kinds of things to discover. It's also where you can find the famous Wawel dragon statue. What's also great is that there is a continuous wall on the upper walkway where you can sit after a long walk through the city. A wonderful place to relax and take in the beautiful scenery of the castle and the river. It's just a great start or end to the day.

So they are divided: Right Bank: Poleski, Wolynski & Podolski Left one: Rodla, Czerwienski, Inflancki, Kurlandzki... Left bank is really popular, there are boat trips and also boats adjusted for catering and drinks, giving lots of pleasure in the sun. River banks are green and considered as park area at some points. Most famous tourists attractions are located on the left. Wianki Krakowskie- in June- every year bringing lots of toursits and spectators to watch performances and fireworks. The best way to see banks is to board the boat and go for a trip down or up the river- or maybe left or right :)

We saw many things that we wouldn't have seen (or noticed) had we done it on our own. The legend of the 2 towers (and brothers) of St. Mary's and the knife is just one of many examples. We also learned the reason why the trumpeter abruptly stops playing his bugle call (Hejnał Mariacki) every hour. We met Victoria and the rest of the group (about 25 people) near the Barbican. Just look for the yellow umbrella with their logo. It initially rained in the beginning, but it cleared up as we were on our way through Old Town. There is so much history in Kraków. This tour gave us insight into the most important museums to visit as well as the architecture surrounding us. There was the Ironman competition obstacle that we had to overcome when approaching the castle. She quickly & professionally navigated our way through it without any interruption to the tour. It ended up being a sunny day once we reached the castle walls. The tour of the castle grounds was the highlight with its beautiful gardens. We will choose Walkative again in the future. They have walking tours in many European cities. I first learned about it through a Yelp friend's review of her Barcelona tour. Thanks Helene! Knowing what I know now, I wish we had booked one for Plaszow and the Jewish Quarter. They offer so many different tours. It's absolutely worth it! On that note, make sure you tip your guide well. They are the ones that make this experience so special. They are a wealth of knowledge. I very highly recommend these tours!
