    Let me start off by saying, me and my wife hand picked Joel based off of his amazing Yelp reviews,…read moremaybe that was our mistake. We reached out to him with a few places that we wanted to see. He got back to us in a timely manner and told us there were no showings yet for some of the homes. We sent him some more that we wanted to see, and Sunday was our first time meeting him in person. We met him at a new construction build, and me and my wife were pretty excited. Yes, we were three minutes late, we can take responsibility for that. We got out the car and approached Joel, who was waiting by the front. Mind you this is our first time meeting, and he never formally introduced himself. He said our names to make sure it was us, but that was it. There was no "Hi, nice to meet you," or "Hi, how are you, I'm Joel." It seemed as if he didn't care who we were and that we were going to be his clients. We never had a formal sit down to discuss the process, what we were looking for, or asked if we had any questions. We never even got a business card from him, but he was sure quick to leave them at every place we saw. Once we started viewing the homes, me and my spouse were talking amongst ourselves about the things we liked and didn't like. We aren't picky but we would like a few things. He never asked what we wanted or did we like any of the properties. Once we found one that property that he suggested, he didn't even ask how we liked it. He just told us the next step is to put our names on the list and fill out the required paperwork. He definitely wasn't big on small talk at all. It seemed as if he just wanted to get rid of us, and he had other places to be. He didn't even TRY to get to know us personally. If you can't build rapport with your clients, why should the clients trust you enough to buy a home with you? First impressions are everything and this first impression sucked. While we were looking at one property that we really liked, the sales rep was in the office with another client after we came back. Joel told us we could go see the other model while we waited. We came back and he was having a long conversation with another realtor there. He saw us and continued on with his conversation. He never asked us how we liked that one or what we thought. Just kept talking away and never said a word to us. He talked to this guy more than he talked to us! At the end of this visit, Joel said the next step is to fill out the paperwork to get on the list with the builder and then he said goodbye. Excuse me but how did YOU know we really even liked the place? Don't think you're about to get a pay out for 5 minutes of work. If we are going to have to know you for the next 6 months while waiting for the home to be built, you better treat us like you give a crap about us. Let me tell you, Joel suggested ONE property to us. He never sent a list of other available listings or did any of the leg work. We found the places and all he did was meet us there. We didn't have any appointments or anything. The people in the sales offices spoke to us more than he did. We don't need a "communicator," we can talk to people ourselves. I even waited to tour places, so that Joel could receive the commission, because a realtor needed to be present on the first visit. He didn't talk about any of the properties or what was included. I'll say this, there's many real estate agents in the area, we definitely don't need you if you don't care. This was going to be a for sure sale using the VA loan, but someone else will meet our needs. We are also NOT first time home owners, so we do know what to expect when it comes to a realtor and what good customer service is. Would not recommend him, unless you're searching for your second million dollar home in the Inland Empire. He just wants the easy money and does not care about the client. While my parents introduced me to a family friend who was a real estate agent, I had no idea how to go about finding a loan officer! After digging through Yelp/Google, I stumbled upon Meridox Mortgage that had stellar reviews and took a chance. I called Meridox and was put in touch with Trung Tran. I let him know that I didn't have any knowledge of how the house-buying process works, but he was incredibly supportive and assured me he would walk me through every step. Shortly after we finished talking on the phone, he sent me a list of items to provide for the pre-approval letter. Trung's turnaround was quick. I sent him my information in the evening and got the letter the next morning. My real estate agent used this letter to draft the offer...it was accepted! After my offer was accepted, the rest of the process was somewhat nebulous, but my real estate agent worked closely with Trung to help me through. Trung was with me every step of the way. He patiently explained how my monthly mortgage payment and closing costs were calculated and even helped me negotiate a home insurance offer. He even kept a close eye on the market and advised me when I should lock in the rate. I thought home buying would be more stressful, but it wasn't as bad as I thought because Trung made every step clear and was very on top of deadlines. From pre-approval to loan closing, it took just one month! Thank you Trung for being so diligent and patient in helping me secure my dream home! Trung was also very proactive in reaching out to me a few months later when interest rates dropped by about 1%. I had the honor of working with Trung again for my refinance, and it was also efficient and painless! I recommended Trung to my coworker recently when she was looking to buy a condo. A little background: I did 2 house purchases, and 1 house sale by myself without a realtor before engaging Meridox. I didn't need handholding, because I was not a first-time buyer. I wanted an advisor who can give me an honest opinion as to pricing, knows the neighborhoods, and can negotiate with the seller's agent. Linh was so on top of things. She understood that I was busy and scheduled multiple showings for me on weekends. She mapped out our route, so we can be efficient with time. She never asked me to consider any property that was outside my price range or not what I was looking for. I was able to knock out many home viewings with her, and we put in a couple of offers. I saw a house that fell out of escrow. I messaged her, and she was immediately on it. She showed me the house, called the seller's agent, and basically convinced the seller to take my offer that was a tad below listing that either that same day or the next. (OC is a hot market, so this was an incredible deal! My other offers all sold above listing.) She was incredibly responsive, super sharp, and very easy to work with. I used Meridox as my mortgage broker as well and used them again to refinance a year later. Very seamless and easy transaction. Forget all the agents who claim to "treat you like family."     ****VETERANS READ!* - Civilians can too =] ****…read more I first had Laura as my real estate agent back in 2013. She helped me purchase my first house and I could not be more grateful for everything she did. When I first started looking for house I must have went through 3-4 real estate agents who would not help me with my VA loan. I kept being told to save money and use a conventional because no one likes to use VA. I had all but given up on buying a house until I met Laura. She assured me my VA loan would not be a problem and we began looking for houses. Laura took the time at every house she showed me to listen to what like and didn't like. I eventually found the house I wanted and shortly after was able to purchase it. I could not believe I bought a house because it felt no one wanted to work with me and my VA loan. Since then I have sold and bought another house with the help of Laura and I could not be happier. Laura is thee best agent I have had the pleasure of working with and every chance I get I will recommend her services, ESPECIALLY if you are in the military. Let me…read moreset the background first: -I was a first time home buyer -VERY nervous -uneducated on the details of purchasing -just spent (wasted) the past 6 months with another realtor who made me feel like the amount I had to spend wasn't the kind of clientele she was used to. That being said...Laura immediately made me very comfortable as she educated me on the "game" of home buying. My work schedule is very difficult to work around but she always accommodated me and never wasted my time. She was always overly prepared with information on the houses we saw, which I liked, so we were never going into any home blind. Laura very quickly found numerous homes that met many of my "wishlist" requests. With the difficult market being as it is, we found that I was constantly being beat out by either investors or all cash offers. Soon enough, I received a call from Laura telling me that she had revised her strategy. She was going to go door to door in the neighborhood I'd chosen, asking someone to sell directly to me. This blew me away, both because it was 90+ degrees outside and would never ask that of her, and because she thought outside the box! Sure enough, she found my dream home that literally blows me away, every time I enter my home. I can't thank her enough for the hard work she put into my purchase and for making me feel like I was always her priority. Do yourself a favor, give her a call.
