Lunch time came around with no real plans. I decided to go to Jason's. I ordered the chicken avocado panini, with pasta salad, chips and a slice of pumpkin cake. The order was ready by the time I got there. When I walked in, I instantly realized I forgot they had a salad bar. Next time. The sandwich was delicious, bread was buttery and plenty of meat. Hard to believe it's been 5 years since I've written a review for this Jason's Deli location. With that, I still give them 5-stars. Food: 4-stars. Whether I am dining in or having a catering order delivered, their food is consistently good. The menu has a wide variety of deli options. They also have a build- your-own salad bar. The deli sandwiches are good and the salad bar is fresh. They also have a variety of soups available. I'm rarely disappointed with an order from Jason's Deli. It's why I keep coming back. Customer Service: 5-stars. The vast majority of the time when I am ordering catering, I order online. They're online system is very user-friendly and easy to place catering orders. I often order from them for deliveries that range anywhere from 10 to 50 people. On occasion, I order on a very short notice (although I try my best not to do that to them), and they always come through with flying colors. When it comes to catering, their orders are typically always spot on accurate. As far as customer service goes when I visit this location and dine-in, the staff is always friendly, management is on top of things, and the place is clean. There's not much more you can ask for. Their history and consistency of customer service is an easy five stars rating. Bottom line-Good food and great customer service. I visited this Jason's Deli on Sunday past, and after ordering, I went to use the restroom. On my way thru the restaurant, I noticed that there were, at least, 5 tables that had not been bussed, and the floor was quite dirty. Although the young lady taking my order seemed attentive, and was quite nice, the person putting the sandwiches together still managed to get them mixed up, and had to redo them. As a result, the cheese was not melted on, so it came sliding out of the sandwich upon first bite. The preparer didn't seem to fully understand the tickets that were placed in front of her. I like this place but not sure what happened today. I went on a Sunday and it was not full. I ordered tortilla soup and salad. The first hard thing was that the area where they put the trays all trays were dirty. The server was cleaning them with what for me was a dirty cloth. She put my food on a tray that had old cheese. Very disgusting. There were other trays really dirty on that area. I would expect those trays are cleaned when they serve the food. The tortilla soup came without the chips and when I ask for them, the cooker did not know what I was talking about. The salad bar was poor with several trays with a little or no food. It has been years since I've been to a Jason's Deli. We decided to go here for lunch after our Saturday activities and errands. It is the perfect lunch spot for families on the weekend. My husband and I both got the Managers Special and added a Salad Bar side. You really cannot beat that for $10. The salad bar is the best...fresh veggies, multiple options of toppings and dressing and the bread and homemade croutons are the best!!! If you like veggies try the Zucchini Grill sandwich, it was a home run! My daughter loves the Kids Bow tie Pasta and Meatballs. It is a good portion size to where she has leftovers for later. This location seems pretty similar to other JD locations, as far as dining in during their busy lunchtime. It is a large space with an open kitchen and an ample salad bar. I usually order one of the chicken or beef sandwiches. Their prices are pretty reasonable and they have many options to mix and match, or find something on the healthy side. The salad bar stays pretty well stocked during lunch hours. Went to Jason's on my way to work, to grab a sandwich and salad. When I walked in, the restaurant was clean and not too busy. I waited probably 3-4 minutes to place my order, while the cashier filled to go orders. I witnessed 2 other guests receive their order incorrectly and a door dash driver claimed he'd waited 30 minutes. (I can't verify that) My food came out quickly and I left, as I got to my car, I checked my bag and it was missing my sandwich. So I got back out to walk back up to the building and the cashier and manager we're waiting with my sandwich. So it wasn't a huge misstep. When I got to work to eat my Turkey Muffaletta, the meat, cheese and olives were hanging outside the bun. Not a big deal, but the presentation was definitely below average. Having recently moved to Houston from New Jersey, there are a couple food staples I'm on the lookout for; Good pizza, and a good sub. Jason's ain't it. That sandwich, with the cheese on top and no flavor other than saltiness, is NOT a good sub. They don't even have oregano. What kinda deli doesn't have oregano?? I couldn't even taste the oil and vinegar that I can only assume they put on it cuz like I said, it had no flavor. Ugg The service was exceptional and they have a nice selection of sides and sweets. This place hates new Mothers and Disabled people. So my Sister-In-Law had a baby at a hospital just a few miles away. We ordered dinner at 4:20 and didn't receive it until 7:15. Apparently right after we ordered they got a 100 person order in the same hospital. So instead of delivering dinner to the woman who just gave birth they blew her off for hours. Well, here I am writing a review for Jason's Deli. I walked into a new location today and was extrémale impressed with one employee in particular. His name is Shauntrel or Seantrel. He is a younger guy so I'm mostly impressed since it's hard to find someone with that work ethic now n days. I walked in and was greeted by a wonderful smile! He took my order which wasn't difficult but normally takes people a minute or two to figure out how to put it in the system. I don't eat meat so I sub the bacon in my potato for mushrooms. He asked if I want my mushrooms cooked with it or fresh.... Woah!! No one ever asks me that! In fact I'm always bummed when they don't cook it in there but I don't want to be too complicated when ordering so I never say anything. Lots of times I order it and it still comes out with bacon. Not this time... because he took the time out to go directly to the cook to confirm that it was being made correctly. I didn't have to ask or second guess anything. There is a large dining area inside where it would be hard to not find a seat (even for groups) unless it's during lunch time which are peak hours. Sometimes they only have 1 register open during lunch time and I find myself waiting in line for about 5 to 10 minutes waiting for an order that I always call in. I had a large order needed for pre-Thanksgiving employee appreciation. I was hesitant to order online but the options to customize any specific requests were actually available. Everything was perfect as ordered. Lunches were well received. Food was EXCELLENT. And much to my surprise the two-dozen cookies I ordered in the end were all individually wrapped. Another JD review?! What can I say. . .My name is Tam M and I'm a JD Junkie! If I have no idea what I have a taste for on any given day, JD's will fit the bill! On this particular day, I REALLY wanted Chinese, but didn't want to be disappointed going to a new place, so I settled for JD's. Most of the time, I purchase the manager's special, which includes any half sandwich (except the muffuletta) with soup or chips and a pickle. To my stomach's advantage, I usually get a bag of chips with my soup :) There are 3 prices points for the manager's special 6/7/8.99 which I have not quite figured out, but for the amount of QUALITY food you get, it doesn't phase me how much I pay. On my first visit to this location, however, I thought I would just get a sandwich. After I ordered, my indecisiveness kicked in --I couldn't pass up the awesome seafood gumbo!!! I hated to change my order, but I just had to do it. I waved the cashier down and told him I was sorry for the inconvenience, but I needed to change my order to the manager's special. Even though the manager's special costs a couple of dimes more, the manager in charge said it was okay--I didn't need to pay the difference. WHAT A DIFFERENCE JD's is to any other fast food place I've been too. Any other place would have quickly asked for those extra dimes to balance out their register!!! Anywho, I waited for my meal with a dip of ice cream and a tempting glance at the garlic toast, but bypassed it to sit patiently for my meal. I did take it to go, but if I would have had time, staying to dine would not have been a waste of my time. There was a steady, but not crowded, number of customers inside dining. The tables looked pretty spotless and the salad bar looked stocked. The parking lot and freeway noise may not be too enticing to dine outside, but a good Texas breeze maybe a compromise! I popped into this location with my mother on a Sunday afternoon. We were sweaty and tired from yard work and wanted some hardy deli food to reward ourselves. We opened the entrance to Jason's at around 1:30, and immediately we're standing in line. We wanted to peruse a menu to make the most of our time, but the little plastic menu holder bins all along the waiting area were empty. I didn't want the dozen or so people in front of me to think I was "cutting" so I didn't go to front to grab one. After about ten minutes we were near the front counter and were able to grab a menu. I selected a Plain Jane baked potato, my mother decided on the manager's special of a half southwestern sandwich and some fruit. On the menu for the manager's special, the options with the half sandwich said clearly "sides are chips or fruit." We make it to the counter to order. I ask for the Plain Jane, and when my mother asks for her manager's special, the man behind the register asks "would you like a side salad?" My mother replies "Oh I didn't know that was a choice. Sure, I'll take a side salad." We pay for our food and head for a table. The place is packed. There are a few empty tables, but they still have dirty places and used napkins on them. Where are the busers? We manage to snag a coveted empty booth. We wait for our food. And wait. As we're waiting, around minute 15, my mother looks at our receipt and exclaims "They charged me $2.00 extra for the side salad! They didn't say it would cost extra." So that was disappointing. 20 minutes later, we get our food placed in front of us. My Plain Jane is so covered in a solid inche of little squares of fake bacon bits you can hardly tell it was a baked potato under there. And my mother's managers special is an overstuffed sandwich... covered in ruffles potato chips. "Excuse me, I ordered a side salad." she says to our server. "oh, they didn't give you a salad plate? Oh wait- it's like a made salad we make?" The server stammers. He looks to be in high school and has an honest face. The salad being left wherever it was is probably not his fault. There are bins of spoons, knives and straws, but two empty bins where forks should be. I squeeze my way through the people lined up for drinks and salads to the end of the cafeteria-esque counter and ask a worker in a polo (I guess a manager) "Excuse me, y'all are out of forks and I need one, please." "Oh sorry sweetheart," the middle aged man says. "let me get you one my darling." He swivels around to a back counter and hands me a fork. I ignore the inappropriate terms of affection and just hope he'd recently washed his hands. I dug through my fake bacon bits and the potato underneath was pretty good. It of course tastes good, it was swimming in butter, sour cream and cheese. There was also a full handful of green onions mixed in which obviously lent a powerful onion taste to everything. I didn't finish my Plain Jane. My mother said her southwestern sandwich was good, but the chunks of chicken were too large and kept falling out the sides and back. She ended up borrowing my fork to finish her meal. We decided to get our free ice cream cones on the way out... but the vanilla soft serve was the yellowest I've ever seen vanilla soft serve be... That didn't get eaten. Most Jason's Delis I have been too have been wonderful, yummy food in a huge portion. Not this time... I've frequented many Jason's Deli over the past 6 or so years living in the Houston area. Most are very accommodating and will immediately correct your order if there is a mistake. This particular Jason's Deli is notorious for messing up your order. Instead of immediately fixing the situation, you will be questioned as if you don't know what you ordered or what you said when you called in the order. The attention to detail and customer service is weak and needs to be addressed. I most likely won't call in an order at this location ever again. read more
