I am currently in my third year here at java studios so I can speak from a good amount of experience. The owners and people who manage the building have been professional and friendly the entire time I have been here. The people working to keep the building clean and well maintained are also very nice and seem to be very on top of keeping the bathrooms clean and the floors and walls pristine. I have multiple clients in and out of my studio on a daily basis and the first thing that every new customer says is "this building is amazing!" While there are more affordable studio buildings in Brooklyn, Java Studios has a more professional feel and heat/AC, electricity and WiFi are all included in the price. So don't be fooled when looking at the price of other spaces as I have found that the price listed is not including any amenities and often ends up being several hundred more in addition to the listed price. Considering the level of attention and care that the management are able to offer, plus no hassle/no drama when ever I need anything from them and the fact that all amenities are included, not to mention 3 blocks from the G Train- the cost of renting a studio here is more than reasonable. I see that Java Studios has some negative reviews but as we all know, one or two people's opinion can sometimes say more about them than it does about the business... I treat people with understanding and respect and I have received nothing but understanding and respect back from everyone here at Java Studios. I carry myself and deal with people in a professional manner and I only work with other people who are able to function at a high level of professionalism such as the people who run Java Studios. I would recommend Java studios to anyone who is a serious artist/ entrepreneur and is looking for a no muss no fuss, beautiful, reasonably priced studio in a great location. read more

Update - wifi is not quite there yet but noticeably improved, up to 75-80% service from 30%. The main bathroom I use is somewhat better and they've added a sign. Garbage is still piling up sometimes. They have a new problem. As of this year, there is no way to pay the rent without being charged a fee for the privilege. Credit card payments are charged a percentage. ACH transfers are assessed a fee. They do not accept a paper check. I can't stand 'pay to pay' schemes. It would definitely be illegal if this were residential rent, but because it's commercial, I'm not sure. read more

Whatever you do, don't rent here. Having my business here was the most stressful 2 yrs of my life. LET ME START FROM THE BEGINNING... When I originally signed on to rent from here, I was shown a room by the office manager, and was told though my room hasn't been built yet, but this would be the size. They also told me the size of the room, so I ordered furniture to match. When my room was ready, it was several inches smaller than promised. I explained this and was matched with basically a "you're being a difficult young woman by complaining" and a whole lot of mansplaining that made me question myself. They did find me a new larger space by the next month. However, communication during this time was bad and it got worse. THE MAILROOM From the start, I was missing packages on a frequent basis. I would again, talk to the studio manager, who seemed frustrated at the gentlest of questions. He always blamed USPS or UPS or FedEx and said I need to take it up with them, they were the liars. Even when this man's name was shown as signing for the packages, it was "(insert mail carrier's name here) they know my name, so they just put it as being delivered." Maybe so, though I can't help to think a lot of my packages were stolen. I was missing so many packages by the end of my 2 years there I just stopped complaining, so I didn't seem like a difficult tenant. CLEANLINESS/OPERATIONS I saw one of the reviews saying this place is clean?! For my work I used their sink a lot. The sink area was always DISGUSTING. Food left in the sink and during the summer, hoards of fruit flies. For the first year being there the women's bathroom, which only has 2 stalls, was missing a toilet seat! A YEAR! Im so glad I didn't have the type of business where I was bringing in clients. Also in the first year, there was no hot water in the kitchen sink, another issue that made my work more difficult. I talked to the owner finally myself when running into him, and it was soon resolved. THE ICING ON THE CAKE... This studio requires a 2 month notice when moving out which makes it almost certain they are getting an extra month's rent from you when your not even there. I knew what I was getting myself into sure, but this is how it ended... When I put my notice in for leaving, I said I was leaving in a month, but I understood I had to pay for 2 months, as per the contract I signed. I figured I could take my time the last month getting my stuff out if anything. During my 2nd to last month there I ran into that wacky, bi-polar office manager and he asked me, "How soon can you move out? The person taking over your room wants to move in earlier!" Im like, "Great! I'll get everything out by the end of the month." My fiance then rents a truck and we got everything out of there quick. I am then told by the office manager... drumroll.... THAT HE NEVER TOLD ME SHE WAS MOVING IN ANY EARLIER, AND I WOULD NOT RECEIVE MY DEPOSIT BACK FOR THE FINAL MONTH. Long story short, the manager of Java Studios needs to learn how to communicate clearer with people, and check his emotions when he is speaking. I can't even begin to express his tone with me, through the entire 2 years there. All I can say is I did a lot of crying. If you are looking for a studio, especially if you are a woman, don't go here! read more

I just recently signed a lease with Java because it's everything I have been looking for as I start my new business. They supply you with everything you need to make it easy for you to get up and running. You can decorate your room however you want and can lock it up when you aren't there. I love the vibe of the place, it's super artsy. The prices are also actually insanely low for the location and what you're getting. I think this will be the perfect place for me to get my business started and I'm so excited! Also....I'm not sure what that review is about with "tricky salespeople" and hidden fees. There aren't any fees aside from a one time $45 charge and there aren't any salespeople. Just an employee who shows you around the space and is super chill about it lol. I'm glad I didn't let that review deter me from seeing the space!! read more

Java Studios - Shared Office Spaces Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

It hurts me to say this because for the majority of the year I enjoyed the building, but this had nothing to do with the "so called community", fake gallery or all of the building amenities you pay additionally in comparison to other spaces for. There is no sense of community here, the art gallery has no curative direction and usage for artists in the building (it's just a well lit room with glass), and the cost of the units your paying for is way over priced. There are a lot of additional fees and processing costs on top of that when you leave and they will find any excuse to use your security deposit, not a good bang for your buck. read more

The building has many suites with different businesses but no directory, kind of hard to get in if your not employed there and the parking...well there is none .It's better to Uber/Lyft here and or take the train. read more
