This place is way overpriced, for what we got, anyway! My ckicken was almost black on the outside, so I couldn't eat some of the tough spot breading... but the meat was ok on the inside; it was juicy, and the flavor was good... It's just $12 for a small piece of overcooked chicken with a few fries... well, that's just not right! (And the kitchen staff knew that when they served it that way!) So... no 'next time' for me! Went to the drive thru, I'd recommend packing a lunch because to eat in line because you're going to be there a while, (3 cars in front of us) took 35 min to the window took another 7 minutes while paying and waiting for the order to come up. Surprised that the chicken wasn't warmer then Luke warm . On the positive side , chicken was cooked perfectly, sauces were tasty , we only ordered 2 sandwiches. My husband and I went in during the soft opening and had a very pleasant experience. We walked in at closing and the owner himself accommodated our order (even threw in some extra food). The food was delicious, but one thing that stood out was the service and comradery of the staff. It was a pleasure seeing the closing activity and how the owner treated his staff. If you're looking to try Nashville Hot Chicken for the first time or had it, love it and are looking for somewhere good to get it, Jay Bird's Chicken is the place. I've been 3 times in the first 2 weeks it was open. Jay was in every time working the register, putting together food and giving customers free drinks and sides. I've had some of the best Nashville Hot Chicken, Hattie B's, Dave's Hot Chicken... Jay's stands up to the best. We're lucky to have this In St George. Big juicy chicken breasts and tenders. Delicious Mac n cheese. The butter sauce and comeback sauce are big wins. The only thing I didn't like is their version of ketchup. Hard pass. I've had the chicken sandwich with slaw, and the one with the Mac. I've had their loaded fries with chopped pieces of tenders, Mac and sauce. The only recommendation I would make is add an extra tender on the loaded fries. Love this place! read more

Ordered it medium and not only was there not any buffalo flavor, there was zero seasoning at all. coleslaw was also not good. it had no dressing. sandwich was overall 0/10 in my opinion. sauces were also weird and disappointing. fries were mid. they were hot; but soggy and covered in heaps of seasoning. Sorry for the 3 as the sandwich is excellent. It still has spice so if you're gonna complain just get the plain Jane. Had the Medium an it was good, but I'm not macho, so just get the mild, more spicy than your average mild but very good. Yes the wait is loooong. The main reason I don't go there often. But the price is 1b reason for not going back alot. You can't just get a sandwich have to have there lukewarm krinkle type fries- not wanted, not needed, not good enough to eat just because they're there. Just doesn't stack up to a real Nashville Hot Chicken place on the east coast, like a Hattie B's or Joliee's. Small menu, waffles are tiny, chicken strips were thin and dry. Not enough heat levels, but most of the heat just comes from more cayenne pepper powder. If you are in Utah, recommend Houston TX Hot Chicken instead. read more

This was one of the biggest mistakes on the planet in terms of a dining experience. Their interpretation of Nashville chicken is in opinion, shameful. My husband and I ordered the chicken tender meal and 2 drinks. So let's start with the drink issues, one size cup, on the small size of medium. Ok, $2.65 for a small drink and plastic lid. I fill the cup and don't see any straws, why, because their concept is, it's a "sippy cup". No straws. How ridiculous is that. It kind of makes me wish I could have partaken and been around the table of whatever hallucinations the people were taking when they came up with that idea. Let's call it a "sippy cup", come on. I choose to have macaroni and cheese instead of fries. Yikes on that decision. The noodles and cheese looked gray in a way and were inedible. In other words maybe to be used to fill one the holes in a driveway. My husband got the fries which were lukewarm at best, thrown loosely onto a piece of paper on a plastic tray. Ok, maybe the idea is save on refuge at the end of the day. If that be the case, the restaurant did have better quality napkins which were kept out on the drink counter for anyone to take. So let's give away napkins and save money on straws. Finally the chicken I ordered was the medium heat flavor. It was coated in their spice blend that had so much, which I believe to be, smoked paprika, it was barely edible. The bread that came with the meal was damp and had a really weird smell to it that can only be described as stale. I can't remember a time that I couldn't wait to come home and brush my teeth to get a taste out of my mouth. It was that bad, again in my opinion. It's a never again experience. read more

First off you order they lets you pick your level of how hot you want it we picked mild for are whole meal when we where ordering it went good never offered us if we wanted any extra sauce which they charge extra for on top of the high prices and everything is sold separately. we got the food and it was extremely hot not mild at all problem I see is if you have leaves of hot like they do you have to have pans for that leave of hot if someone orders something hot and someone orders another that does want it so hot cooking it in the same pan just made that hotter anyways we didn't finish couldn't and through it in the trash and had stomach issues for at least a week after. It is unfortunate that I have tried the St. George, Utah location twice. The first time we visited around 4pm and the Item we wanted to order on the menu was not prepared, and asked if we could get the item. The person who was taking our order asked if we would like something else because the other item would take the crew about 20 minutes to prepare, and they really seemed they did not want to prepare the item for us. We were in town again to give it another try a few months later around 8pm. The crew at the location was pretty much the same people, at least 3 of them. We ordered the same item again on the menu and it was an exact repeat of our visit a few months before. We just walked out. The service was terrible. No availability of some of the items on the menu. The crew was put out because we asked for items that were on the menu but not prepared. How this location is still in business is a miracle. What are the chances of the same thing happening twice to the same people a few months apart. Dissatisfied to say the least. read more

Went through the drive through last night and got their extra hot tender meal. I was super excited, and while the flavor was good on everything the tenders were tooooo spicy! and I like spice, I typically find things underwhelming which is why I got the extra hot tenders. They need a warning! After one bite I was swearing profusely, and couldn't finish the rest of the meal. I was tossing and turning all night worried that it was going to hurt as bad on the way out as it did on the way in. I was absolutely correct in my assumption and the last 2 hours have been absolute torture. Trust me, it's not worth the battle you will go through on the toilet after eating these tenders. read more
