I am sick of this store. The prices are high, the stock is old, or it's out of stock. They claim to have a meat cutter, but the meat is 2x as high and the selection horrible compared to other Kroger chains. Better store in Milan, but not by much. The Jay C in North Vernon sets an example this horrible branch should strive to meet.
They won't accept returns for soured milk unless you have a receipt even when the date isn't reached, but who keeps a receipt for milk? A quick call to corporate gets you your refund in spite of their accusations.
Customer service is non-existent. They're rude, unhelpful and sulky. They will pass by running a mop under your feet, desperate to avoid eye contact lest you ask for assistance. You can be unloading a cartload of groceries and the cashier will refuse to budge until you stop, walk to her, and hand her your precious store card. She could full well scan your order and ask for your card when your hands are empty and are getting your money out to pay, but no! Inconvenience and lack of accommodation is the name of the game at the Jay C in Osgood.
The baggers need a course on bagging. They bag chemicals with food, one cold item in every bag with dry goods, and all the canned goods together or all the heavy bottles together. This is in spite of my efforts to separate my order into logical bagging groups. They roll their eyes if you ask them to double bag.
If you go to the customer service desk for lottery and are trying to buy a one or two regular items, they'll try their best to not ring you up even though they have a drawer and are fully capable. Lazy? You tell me. I have experience shopping here, but I try every week to not earn anymore than I have to.
I try my best to avoid this store, as it is only a glorified convenience store with none of the convenience. I recommend the same to you. read more
