Since I'm afraid of electricity it's worth the money ... install was professional and timely. Technicians were professional and even had bulbs for the pendants that I was a missing. Will use them again for sure Well used them again. This time for a few smart switches. I'm just not confident enough with electric to do it myself. Fair price. I have used Jay Electric a number of times. Most recently I contacted Jay Electric to unhook a hot tub and they were able to come out quickly. Jay Electric answered on a Sunday and was out to my home on Monday morning. The previous job I used them for was to actually wire the hot tub and also do some additional work. They isolated the trouble (broken wire) affecting my kitchen lights & family room tv and had it fixed in less than 30 mins... did I mention affordable?! I saw Jays truck while i was shopping at Elliot Electric and took down his #. He wired my restaurant with pendant lights and wall plugs as well as a post in the kitchen to hold 5 dedicated circuits. He came back to me the next day and said he had done some research and needed to change out my plugs in the kitchen because he thought they might not pass inspection AT HIS OWN COST. Jay is an Honest and really great electrician who knows what he can and cant do. I will keep Jay for any electrical issues i have in the future. He is fair and wont over charge you. 5 stars for Jay. There are a LOT of bad electricians out there. Jay is your man. Honest , has integrity and a fair price. I really cant say enough good things about him!! read more

I'm very disappointed after working with Enoch on this simple 2-gang light switch change. After describing my situation yesterday, her told me that the scope of project was the minimum and would not be more than $150. I agreed and he had me text my address and confirmed scheduling for the next day via text (today). He missed the appointment window and when I called, he thought the appointment was for the following day. I explained that I scheduled for today and was not available tomorrow, so he sent his technician out this evening and he did the job quickly and efficiently-within 45 minutes. The problem was that Enoch up-charged my cost to $200! I complained about paying more than my quoted price and he consented to charge me $175. This still leaves me disappointed as it was above my quoted price and I had 2 other vendors quote me $150 and $145 respectively. Had I known that I was going to be up-charged, I would have went with another vendor. read more

They were quick to respond however it went downhill quickly. Asked for a 60amp circuit, a 50amp and a 30 amp to be installed in my warehouse their quote came out about the same as others but they seemed more responsive and could do the work the next day so I went ahead with them. They came and did the work all seemed OK until I looked more closely. They had installed wire and breaker for a 30amp where the 50 amp was supposed to be so I called them up they came back the next day and redid the wire to make it a 50 amp and then tried to charge me $150 extra for a already installed disconnect box that was included in the original quote (they wanted to remove it to makeup for the extra cost in wire) This box retails for $98 after arguing with him I gave them an extra $60 to makeup for the difference in price of the disconnect compared to what was originally requested (NEMA 14-50 plug) In reality I should not have given them any more money. The guy had a major attitude when he asked me to check the work and acted like he was doing me a favor by installing the wire that was quoted. Later when I go to connect the 60 amp circuit to my load I find they only used 8 gauge wire (run through 1/2in in conduit) when 60 amp calls for 6 gauge and 6 gauge won't even fit in 1/2in in conduit with 3 wires and a ground. They tried to convince me that it's 6 gauge even though it's clearly 8 gauge, confused I double checked and sure enough it is in fact 8 gauge. Now get this, they did not even bother to use a stud finder so I had many holes in my drywall where they kept drilling until they found a stud which I had to go back and repair. One of the boxes was only half connected to the wall because they did not have drywall anchors for the side without a stud so I had to go and fix that myself as well. Don't work with these guys they are not competent electricians who try to penny pinch the job by using the wrong wiring for the job expecting their customers not to know the difference. read more

Jokers! Had them scheduled all week for an appointment for an estimate today. Also had another company come out for an estimate earlier. So a crew from this company shows up early while the other company was still here. Then they left saying that the boss would be coming out to do the estimate. What kind of sense does that make? Anyway, so I called "the boss" and it sounded like they had already counted me out since I had another company here. I explained to him that, as most people do, I would be getting multiple quotes. He hesitantly agreed to come out again in about an hour or so. So I wait. Until I then receive a call from Jay saying that he won't be coming at all because he supposedly got tied up on a job, and that he couldn't reschedule until a full week from now knowing I need the job done faster. So, needless to say, I decided not to do any business whatsoever with this company at all. Bad customer service from the very start spells disaster later on on in the project. Response to owner's response below: Actually, if you would've found time in your busy schedule to keep your scheduled meetings, you would've probably gotten the job if you would've stayed even remotely close to what you quoted me earlier in the week. As I mentioned during our phone conversation, my cousin lives a long way away and he probably wouldn't have done it anyway. At least by the time I need it done. read more

Dishonest... Son came out and gave me a quote for a 14KW Generac install, turnkey job. When I called to ask him to send me the quote, his Dad answered the phone and said he would send over the quote, which he did and it was over $800.00 more than what was quoted. I was not happy with that and let them know that in a reply. I then sent over the quote with my approval. I called to see if they had received it, but no answer. I called several more times and still got no answer, and as of today I still have not gotten a reply. I'll move on from these guys, who seem to bate and switch. read more

Enoc and his crew did a great job replacing several recessed lights with LED's. They also installed three new light fixtures, moved a switch from one side of the wall to the other and cleaned up a poor installation of flood lights outside. They were prompt and fairly quick. Highly recommend these guys! At my mother's home we had 6 outlets stop working. We first called Ace - who came out and told us it would be $3400 to replace all of the outside outlets, troubleshoot the inside outlets and re-label the breaker box and replace a few breakers. Sounded high - so I called Jay Electric. They made it out the same day. When he got here he said it's $85/hour to troubleshoot - but he felt he could get it fixed for $120. So I said go ahead! They did run into issues and had to run a new wire to the inside outlets that were out. Just replacing a GFI outlet in the garage fixed all the outside outlets. So $434 later - it's done! So nice to have honest tradesmen - rather than those who try to take advantage of women! Two thumbs up for Jay Electric - way up! read more

The owner made this an absolute nightmare. I've worked with a number of electricians over the years and only used this company due to their quoted price and availability because my preferred company was unavailable for this emergency. Worst mistake ever. The owner Enoc lied about the cost when I scheduled service and then changed the price upon completion because "I should've explained differently" what I needed from his services (as if I'm an electrician). We sat on the phone and I expressed how disheartened I was at this change since it was of no fault of my own that there was misunderstanding of my service request, to which his response was "Well you should've called so that I could have explained properly" though scheduling ONLY took place over the phone. He was firm on what his business protocol was in this instance, but could not produce to the same standard. He stopped taking my calls after payment was made and the only time the phone was answered, he responded shortly and hung up in my face. He made it very clear that my business was not desired or respected. I have never been treated so poorly by any company or owner. I caution consumers to use a more professional company especially if you're on a time crunch or dire situation. read more
