I parked far away and walked. The service was good. I bought a concha, red pork tamale, and caramel flan. OMG, the tamale was delicious, I was going to wait until I get home but the girl put a fork in my bag. So I dug out the tamale from the bag and it tastes fresh and delicious. And the price is very affordable. Two thumbs up.

3 conchas and ojo de pancha (looks burnt?)

While strolling through Old Town Newhall during the Christmas light show, I noticed there was a bakery and decided to check it out. Upon entering, saw the display with a few individual sliced cakes and the pan dulce. Assortment: in my opinion somewhat limited in comparison to other bakeries I've gone to. They had your usual conchas, smiley face cookies etc but nothing really caught my attention. Service: I must say customer service is very important to me when I walk into a business. And Jazmins Bakery could use improvement. Upon entering was not acknowledged/ greeted, and when I asked for the price of the pan dulce, the young lady (Mayte) at the counter just responded "each has a different price". Like umm okay I was waiting for her to ask me which bread I was interested in knowing the price or she simply could've told me prices of some. Prices: Honestly prices are a bit on the higher end for each bread. Roughly approximately $1.50 -$2.50 for each bread (Vallarta prices bread approx $1-$1.25 each). Plus I got charged an additional $.10 for plastic bag which the cashier did not ask if I wanted. Flavor: Appearance of conchas looked good but bread was too dry, crumbly, lacked flavor and slightly stale. I don't know if it had been sitting too long in the bakery. The ojo de pancha supposedly had cheese as told by cashier but the flavor wasn't there upon taking a bite, instead had a burnt taste. Interior: Decor is outdated, few chairs to sit on but not well lit inside during the evening. The case that stores the bread does not have the best appearance. Not sure if I'll be back but writing this in hopes the owner reads this review and makes some necessary improvements.

This place is rippin people off. It's a waste of a money with the tamales they're selling. They sell like a tinny portion of the tamales for 4$ EACH !!! like what!? These people need to be reported! Not gonna lie tho the tamales are fire! But please better this business!!! I really don't wanna stop coming here because of this issue.

The tamales are always good. The green ones are sometimes more spicy than others but nothing mild spicy can't handle.

There's also a small seating area. Everything appears to be freshly baked however, I don't think anything is actually prepared from scratch in this bakery. Nonetheless, everything I have tried was pretty good. Lots of individually wrapped baked goods and an entire display case with refrigerated baked goods I had the chilled croissant filled with cream and strawberries. It was good, however, the croissant was not flaky due to refrigeration. The pizza was pretty good when I reheated in my convention oven. Once you get these items home, refrigerate. The strawberry cream stuffed donut was my favorite. Donut was super fluffy and coated with granulated sugar and filled with a lightly tart strawberry cream. I inhaled the entire thing. The Earl Grey and the Blueberry Lavender Macarons are to die for. The Earl Grey really shines as does the lavender. The Blueberry Cloud Cake!! Korean inspired and most popular and signature cakes are the Cloud Cakes. These highly sought-after cakes feature incredibly light, fluffy sponge cake layered with the bakery's signature cloud whipped cream and topped with blueberries Staff were friendly enough but truly lacking in common sense (younger workers). She literally stuffed all my baked good in a small plastic bag smashing a couple of things and not enough room for my slice of cloud cake and my macarons. I had a bring that to their attention and asked for a much larger bag..no apologies or acknowledgment for squeezing my purchase into the small bag. Attention to detail is so important. Overall, I'm satisfied with the quality, freshness and taste of my baked goods.

I saw a recent review somebody saying they don't open until 11 - maybe they reviewed the wrong place - I stopped by yesterday for some treats and they were open - hours start at the crack of dawn That being said the owners deserve time off and because it's a small business - sometimes hours might change and they might be closed. - call and check! If there is something you really want - call ahead. The nature of the business is to sell everything. Because it's an independent small place - overbaking would lead to waste - food and money wise I always figure if they don't have what I thought I wanted - it wasn't meant to be and gives me an opportunity to try something new So grateful for the tasty treats they provide

Stevenson Bakery is a classic mom-and-pop bakery with a cozy, no-frills atmosphere that feels welcoming and local. They open super early in the morning and close at 1 PM, so timing matters. When my husband first stopped by to grab blueberry scones I'd been craving, they were already sold out. The owner was very kind and suggested calling ahead to place an order on hold since the scones can sell out quickly. When we did get them, we ordered a dozen blueberry scones, and they even added donut holes to the box, a really thoughtful touch. The scones are excellent: warm, slightly sweet, with the perfect crunch on the outside and juicy, fresh blueberries inside. I'm in the San Gabriel Valley, and these are absolutely worth the drive (minus 1 star for the long drive). The muffins were a bit too sweet for my taste, so I'd skip those and stick with the scones. Warm them in the oven for a few minutes and pair with a glass of milk!
