I have hired a few plumbers in my life. Every one of them felt shady. One of them bitched while doing the job. One of them asked me to put a 5 star review for a discount (shady). But JC Plumbing, no way, professional all the time. I told them I'd add these reviews, they did not ask for that. It was me after the 2 experiences I've had with them. I had them come out to put a backup sump pump last year. I don't really care about "fast" so much as I care about the craft and doing the job well. These guys did both, fast and just clean install. Second, tonight, even during the cold, our pipe basically burst outside. While both guys were super tired, they accommodated me. Our basement floor was wet so they knew this was important. Came right out after they could find a gap at the end of the day just to help us, it was the end of their day but they were courteous and did a great job not just replacing the valve and fixing the leak but they always provide additional tips and things to look out for which is awesome. It tells me they care about their craft and their customers, much like I care about programming as a craft and writing good code. So, you can't go wrong using these folks. Just amazing. I reached out to Jaryd with pics of my bathroom and we scheduled a time to meet. He and his team are busy (always a great sign!) and he prioritized coming over so we could get the ball moving. Jaryd is an honest, straight-forward, knowledgeable contractor, which I very much appreciate since I tend to ask a lot of questions and don't want fluff, but to tell me how it is. He provided great suggestions for products that he has used on other renos and clients loved. Not only that but provided contacts at different stores like Home Deport, Floor and Decor, and The Tile Shop, to make this process even easier. He also trusted me with what I was picking out as well. But would also provide feedback if he thought a better option was available. Now, to the good stuff: my bathroom looks incredible! (check out the before and after pics). His team was thorough, meticulous, professional, timely, kind, and very understanding of all the questions I had. (I had a lot!) They were detail-oriented and didn't skip a beat to ensure they left my bathroom looking better than when they started. Jaryd stands by his work and also guarantees it. I highly recommend JC Plumbing! In late January, I messaged a couple of plumbing companies in the evening about a leak in my garage ceiling & Jaryd (JC Plumbing) promptly replied. He said he could have someone out first thing in the morning, and he did. The plumber was kind and professional. He showed me the issues, explained the solutions, and provided a quote for each job. It was a bigger project than I anticipated, but he was determined and got it all done that day. Jaryd stopped by at the end of the job and, out of curiosity, I asked if he connects fridge water lines (Abt won't connect a new fridge to an existing line). He confirmed that he does, surveyed my situation, ran out to get supplies, and connected the fridge to the water line right then and there at no charge. It was above and beyond! We are thrilled to finally have filtered water and ice! Jaryd also provided a detailed invoice, which was requested by my insurance company. I wasn't home, they called, and then waited for me. The technician was friendly and forthcoming with all information and pricing on replacing my toilet and fixing a leaky pipe. I needed an extra part for the leaking to cease, which I thought was a little pricey, but I'm not sure of that. He did a great job and I was happy with the job. read more

His worker came over on day scheduled, though 3 hours early. I supplied the parts and he correctly repaired 2 leaky faucets, I did have to show him a youtube video on 1 of the faucets on how to repair, and adjusted 2 plungers. Finished job in 1 and 1/2 hours. Charged 425 dollars. Paid cash. He said I would be texted an invoice. Week later never got one. Called JC he said he would text one. Never got it. Emailed him and got no response. I saw JCs resoponse, He came by once, took 1&1/2 hours to complete. Charged 425.00 dollars which equals 283.00 dollars per hour. Check your math. read more

Since Jaryd requested that I reach out to him directly regarding his response, I did so, and I'm sure you will not be surprised......he has not responded. Jaryd was paid over $37,000 in documented transactions before he walked off the job. He even requested that I split transactions up to pay him differently, which we did for him. The claim that he thought he left us in "able hands" after walking off a job that he was paid for is beyond ridiculous. The new person came in and assumed they would be paid as well not knowing jaryd had been paid in full. What contractor admits to walking out on a job, then also claims they passed it to someone who was better for me in the same sentence? The 3 jobs that Jaryd claims to have done for us are as follows. First floor small bathroom rehab. It took 2 months and was supposed to take a week. He was having trouble with his subs working for him and we stood by him during delay after delay. Once that was "complete" we looked at the tiles in the wall that were jaggedly cut and not straight. Additionally, the jaggedly cut tiles were actually then painted over (to cover up the marks) with nail polish that he and his employee determined was a perfect match and would cover up the issue. The 2nd job was our master bathroom. Which already has been explained. he walked off in the middle and it is now leaking and needing to have the floor fully replaced. He also left his trash in our joists in the ceiling. The 3rd job was our master bedroom. A new closet to be built, new carpeting, new window seat in front of a window facing the front of the home. This job was also left completely undone and apparently in his words "passed to more able hands". Do not trust this person. He will say what he needs to say to make you feel like he's doing the job correctly or can handle it. I have proof that he cannot. He will also deny all wrongdoing and create hostile relationships and walk out on jobs. There are much better out there, please learn from our disaster and use someone else! read more

Really loved Jaryd back in 2019 when he answered my phone calls. He has helped us with so many home projects over the years and we've always been pleased with his services (ranging from ceiling leaks to new sink installation to a whole new water softening and heating system -- they've done it all for us). I would still highly recommend him. But it has now been a little under 5 years and we're due for some upkeep/maintenance and also having issues with our well tank, but it has been impossible to get a hold of anyone over at JC Plumbing. He quickly fixed them so I showed him other issue with our sump pump plumbing - It wasn't connected correctly so water kept coming out to our concrete patio. I live in an old building in Chicago and the fact that Jaryd was even willing to make the trip out to the city in an emergency situation earns 5 stars by itself. Jaryd provided a free estimate and was even able to change around his schedule to come the next day and complete the job. He worked for SEVEN hours replacing the most disgusting rotted pipe underneath the concrete in our building without any damage to surrounding structures, rodded, jetted, installed a clean out and repaved the cement all by himself because the rest of his staff were already on other jobs.
