Railroad Station Antiques is a fantastic place with three floors filled with a great variety of…read morewell-kept furniture. From authentic antiques to more modern pieces, there's something for every taste and style. The selection is impressive, and everything is arranged beautifully. Prices really seemed to range from low to very high depending on what it was. The building had impressive water damage that leaked in all the way from the roof down to the bottom floor which you could see in the one building corner ample water flowing in when it rained. A bit surprising this was happening in a well kept antique shop. The only drawback for me was the staff on the first floor. I felt a bit hovered over, which gave the impression they were judging us based on our appearance. Despite that, it's a must-visit for antique lovers, and I'll definitely be back to explore more if I'm ever in the area again!

I've driven by this place so many times in my life and have even turned around in their gravel parking lot out back at least once and just did not notice it! [Too busy driving?] As everyone noted, it is 3 floors. We only made it to the second floor. I found it to be art centric, some handmade soap products and lotions, minimal clothing, a good bit of jewelry and furniture, some books, kitchen items, just a little bit of everything. We enjoyed a round silver ice bucket we recalled from our childhood, the one with penguins around the edge...sister didn't buy it because she said it was not in good shape - although I didn't notice anything wrong with it. Also, we enjoyed looking at the glass colored "grapes" that were so popular when we were growing up. I liked how one of the artists whose work on display was various oil paintings, included the size, media, and a personal anecdote on each title/price placard and would suggest all artists do this. None of the booths we visited were manned which was a plus for me, since we could take our time and explore various items uninterrupted. Like I mentioned, they have a dedicated [kinda small] gravel parking lot on the back [west side of the building]. Also please know, they do NOT have public restrooms which cut out trip short. It's not far from Melt, so I'm sure you could walk the block and easily use the facilities there.

With that said, they have some gorgeous pieces that are not overpriced--they're rare, they're in extremely good condition, etc. Think original paintings, 18th century furniture (in immaculate condition), an impressive array of silver serving pieces, gobs--and I do mean gobs--of pearls and other estate jewelry, etc. The owners are super friendly, chic without being pretentious, knowledgeable without condescension, and the shop is gorgeous. When we were there a lovely dog was roaming about, too (I loved that, you might not). Unless you have a high limit on your Amex, likely just a window shopping excursion, but a delightful one nonetheless.

He walked away and said, "well, she didn't have any manners!" I left immediately. I was shopping for furniture not insults. My fiancé and I were at a loss trying to find gifts to give our parents when we get married next…read moreweek. We were looking for something original that actually had some thought put behind it. Everywhere we went, things looked the same or it was over priced. We stopped in to Hartlex, thinking it would probably be just furniture but we were desperate. This has now become our official shopping place for gifts. It's not just antique furniture (which were all STUNNING by the way), but decanters, beautiful wall art, jewelry, bed and bath items, lighting, crystal...SO MUCH. We were there for hours and enjoyed every minute of it. We ended up leaving with some things for ourselves too. With that said, there are some nice decorative items in here--think glass Christmas trees, topiaries, over the top candles, etc. If I was going to the hoitiest of toitiest parties and needed a hostess gift, I'd go here. I literally heard a woman complaining to the owner because they no longer had their "previous gift wrapper" on staff and their business would "suffer because of it." Like seriously, holy crap snob city. I didn't spy anything I couldn't live without, nor could I justify spending triple digits on items you can literally buy (or very close approximations of) for double digits at stores like TJ Maxx. This place is a whole mood. Bring your fanciest purse and your highest heels.
