I went to the store about six years ago at their prior location. It was a terrible experience because the person who was assisting me could not find bras that fit me and tried to convince me that they are supposed to be uncomfortable.. I told her that I could not wear what I was trying on because it was painful and she said that I would just have to deal with it. A couple of weeks ago I was walking by the store at its new location and I thought perhaps it would be a different situation with different people inside. Because I am a larger size they could not find any bras that fit me that were Wireless. I do not wear underwire bras to protect my health. The sales person behind the counter who helped me was very kind and dug around in the back to bring me things to try on. At one point, I was wearing a bra that she thought would fit me based on the size that I told her I was, and I showed her how I was coming out all over the place and told her I needed a larger size. She excused herself and went and got someone else. And I am pretty sure this is the Owner or Manager and most likely the same cruel person I encountered years before. This person started to argue with me about how I could not have another size. And I said I needed a larger size and the first sales person looked at the other one asking permission if she can get me a larger size and then that one, the manager or whatever again tries to talk me out of it. It was as if I needed permission to go up to a larger size. This store is useless if you are in the larger size realm. I will never go back again and I look forward to finding a place where I can get an actual fitting like I did in New York years ago from a French bra shop, which was spot on and perfect the first time with many options. read more

Finding the proper fitting bra to wear under an evening dress seemed like a tall order. Because the dress is oddly shaped at the neck line. I went with my daughter's recommendations to try Je Suis Jolie. This shopping experience could not have been easier! I was out the door in 5 minutes at most. It's all about the service. The manager - just by looking at me- gave me a more accurate size for my bra. Who knew that all these years I was wearing the wrong size? Anyway, I explained the difficult task ahead and she wisely pulled out a different size from what I told her and politely suggested that I just try it. Needless to say, it was a perfect fit. Could not be more pleased. If you need a bra for a special occasion or just someone who understands what your size actually is, I would highly recommend this store! It's so unnerving to wear a loose bra for 8 hours a day. I hadn't had a fitting in over two years so I scheduled an appointment at Je Suis Jolie. Little did I know I was about to have the best fitting I've ever had in my entire life! I arrived early for my appointment (drenched from the rain) and was greeted by the young ladies at the front. The sales associate who helped me was Henni. Had to give her a shoutout because she is a doll and went above and beyond for me. She realized that I was soaking wet and gave me paper towels to dry off. So sweet. The appointment slot is 20 mins but I'm pretty sure we went well over that. Henni helped me find the perfect fit and provided a variety of options. I didn't feel rushed or pressured to buy anything. I'm so glad I gave this boutique a chance. I'm more comfortable in my body now that I'm aware of my correct size. I would rate higher than 5 stars if I could - the outstanding customer service, cleanliness of the store and wide selection of items speaks volumes. I was no longer in denial about my fluctuating weight and the impact that would have on my bra size...had also decided that i needed a PROPER fitting from a pro...and so I fell upon this place and Im glad I did. I made an appointment for a fitting online the night before and strolled in when it was time. Clearly lingerie was sold here but this place didn't have a risque atmosphere (not that I mind that) but instead was very warm and cozy, with warm lighting, it felt like a hug...in store form, haha. A smiling lady greeted me and made small talk, measured me with a tape measure and the first bra she brought me to try fit like a dream. she was very receptive to what i asked for "more coverage...smoother...plain black..." etc. and patient since i took a while (important decisions were being made) and i walked out with 3 very reasonably priced bras that were utilitarian for everyday use yet beautiful. I honestly thought i was going to end up paying significantly more than a department store...or that other store with the angels ;) but nope, definitely comparable (at least for those like me who need a larger cup size). I had a fantastic experience here and I get frazzled VERY easily when I shop for clothes, bras, shoes, etc. The staff was very friendly and put me at ease the second I walked in. I was afraid of this cause my experience with higher-end boutiques is a condescending and snooty staff, but they couldn't be nicer here! Which was just what I needed since it's been, what, about 10 years since my last bra fitting and that was at *shudder* Victoria's Secret (whose bras are all so damn uncomfortable and bejeweled, not to mention terrible quality). I had a bra fitting scheduled and came after work on a weeknight and luckily was the only customer there so I felt beyond comfortable trying on the several bras they suggested for me based on my size and walking outside the dressing room to see myself in the better mirrors. I told them the problems I have with bras and the style/feel/color I generally prefer and they zipped through the racks pulling those that met my requirements - it was like an IRL filter, only I could actually feel the material and really look at how it conformed to my shape. They have literally every option you can imagine and if they're out of your size or a color in something, they'll order it to the store for you. I went in with the intention to get ONE bra and walked out with THREE, but whatever, those are the breaks. Was it pricey? Absolutely. But it's actual QUALITY. Not to mention the one absolutely beautiful black bralette I tried on fit me perfectly, was so comfortable and looked fantastic, that I nearly cried. Leaving the store toting a sleek black bag with leopard print tissue paper and feeling like a damn woman made me come home and throw away all my old bras. I am left with about $80 in store credit because I bought a bra that ultimately does not fit me and the store has no other bras in the style/size that I want. Beware before you buy from this store that MOST of their merchandise is sold at FULL retail price! You can get much better prices for the same bras at Macy's, Norstrom, or Amazon with generous return policies. On top of the ridiculous pricing, they do not give refunds and only give you store credit for returns (within 14 days). I wish I had known that before buying 2 bras at the wrong size at full price. Could have saved at least 20% for the same bras elsewhere. I was also under the impression that they sold specialty bras that I could only buy there when really they just sell a bunch of different brands no different than any other department store. You're better off getting fitted at Nordstrom and ordering online elsewhere. I've bought a few bras from this place over the years, some were great, others not so much. I got some last year that after bringing home I didn't like the fit, but I kept them anyway. I was there a few weeks ago and bought more that seemed great, but after wearing once I realized it was a full size too big. Tried to exchange it and there was zero help even though I tried the piece on for them and she agreed it was way too big but because it was worn im stuck with a very expensive bra that I can't wear and wasn't offered another fit, apology, nothing at all. I was so happy to find this place a while ago and be able to shop locally, but after this experience I'll be sticking with online orders where I can return things that don't work out. I have always heard about the wonders of a professional bra fitting, so I decided to get one for myself at Hope Chest. The store is really nice inside and the lingerie on display is super pretty. I was basically the size I thought I was, but also discovered that I can wear another size as well, and can choose between the two, based on the different fits of the bra. The owner suggested several bras that I ended up buying. I was definitely be back next time I need to buy bras or underwear. They keep your size and style on file in their computer system for future shopping trips. The store is dog-friendly and there is a picture of her cute dog on the wall. Extra points for musical selection. I loved trying on all of the fancy bras, but listening to Mobb Deep play while doing it made it even better! read more

I had a wonderful experience here today!! I came in the morning hoping to be fitted and find one or two new bras. The sales associate was so helpful, considerate and professional. I was not the only customer in the store and I was really impressed at her ability to juggle us all yet still make me feel like I was getting very attentive service. Previously at another business I have gotten "professional" fittings before where a woman kind of gawks at your naked boobs then hands you bras to try on which magically fit... the experience would leave me a bit uncomfortable. The sales associate at Hope Chest was able to measure me over my T-shirt and asked my current bra size to give us a starting point. She was dead-on and the first and second bras fit like a glove. She asked permission before stepping in the dressing room to check out the fit. I really appreciated that she allowed me some modesty in the process! After that I was looking for a more "fun" bra and she was excellent at picking fun/playful items off the racks and bringing them to the dressing room for me. She perused the sale rack for me and I ended up getting a GORGEOUS Maison Lejaby bra for $68 which was a great price! I liked that she didn't try to up-sell me on a regular price item. All in all I spent $258 for 3 beautiful bras, and honestly I had been expecting to spend more. No it doesn't have the huge selection that a Nordstrom or Amazon.com would have, but it is a beautifully curated and unique selection of items. I will be back! read more

I find some of these reviews really surprising... I have a larger bust as well, so I was so excited to find a boutique that actually stocked my size. I ended up getting one Simone Perele bra...I think it was called the revelation in a 34G and another bra in a 36F (so yes the cup size is the same....the differing band sizes is if one runs smaller than the other which one did...just an FYI for those not really knowledgable about what they are complaining about.) They had a great selection for me to pick from considered I'm used to ordering everything online! The staff was really friendly and knew exactly how their bras fit. And since they didn't have the one bra I wanted in a particular color, they placed a special order for me with no problem. Overall everyone was really friendly, accommodating, and knowledgable about what they were doing. I didn't have an appointment, but the one girl worked with me one on one, which I really appreciated since it was a busy saturday. I would go back in a heart beat because I do understand that it's hard to stock every single style of every single bra in every size and color from sizes AA - H. I guess some people don't understand how an upscale boutique works. Like I said, they had no problem ordering my bra in the color I wanted, and I got it in about a week. If you're a fuller-sized woman than do no go here! This is basically an overpriced Victoria's Secret but lacking in the large inventory. I stopped in to look at wedding lingerie and was quickly disappointed for the following reasons: 1. They have some pretty stuff, but nothing in my size (I'm a 36/38DD, L/XL). 2. The woman who helped me was friendly, but in a way which I found to be fake and patronizing. 3. They measured my bra size over my clothes & current bra -- which is a big "no, no" when trying to accurately fit someone for a new bra. 4. They only carried one brand of strapless bra, Wacoal, which they didn't even have in any sizes I could try. (Personally, I find this brand to be poorly constructed and to never shape me well.) If you want a Wacoal bra you might as well save some money and go to Macy's which has sales and better selection! 5. They were happy to order my size, but said it can take 1-2 months. Apparently, they wait until they have a certain number of orders before placing it .... not a very customer friendly practice. read more

I saw on the website they specialize in bra fittings and I have been only moderately satisfied in this department for years. So I thought- why not? I wish I could remember the name of the lady who helped me... she was wonderful. She measured me and picked out 6 bras to try and had me try them on in a particular order. We hit the mark on her second pick. And she was so right! Hands down, the most beautiful and comfortable bra I have ever owned. They didn't have the bra in the color I wanted so she is ordering it for me... how awesome! Keep in mind- 1. They only carry select brands and styles. BUT they can order you anything. 2. Yes, it is pricey. Be prepared to spend $60-100 on a quality bra. 3. Give it a try!! You won't regret it. Five stars. read more

Unscrupulous consumer practices. After much effort found a bra that fit. While paying, the saleswoman suggested I let her order a similar bra in my size and I agreed. She casually asked whether I wanted to put down a full or 50% deposit. I asked whether the bra would be returnable if I changed my mind and she said yes. She didn't say -- but only for store credit! (In a store that has no bras that fit.) I paid in full. It's now 3 weeks later and the bra hasn't come in. Called the store to get a refund and was informed I'm out of $80 that I can spend "on some undies or a pajama." Now I'm not surprised a boutique lingerie store would have a "store credit only" policy for merchandise you have taken home from the store. For orders where they offer deposit options, however, they must clearly explain there are no refunds on your deposit. But if they ever did, they would never receive "full deposits." Will be reporting this business to both state and federal consumer protection agencies. read more

I went in looking for a quality strapless bra. Mine was ill fitting and I was prepared to pay a little more for something that was of high quality. The service was good although I agree with everyone else that the actual fitting wasn't any different than what I had done at Victoria Secrets. I ended up buying a bra even though it was way pricier than I was expecting ($82) I figured it was an investment. This was about a month ago. Fast forward to a few days ago when I go to put it on and one of the underwires is completely missing. I was shocked and confused. My partner had washed it by accident and I wonder if this is what did it... one wash... and the wire comes out!? I've had cheaper bras that have lasted me years and those I always threw in the washing machine. Needless to say I'm incredibly upset. I contacted he boutique and the company that made the bra (Simone Perele). The boutique was very quick to resolve this problem and gave me a replacement bra. For this - I give them 5 stars because even though I hastily reviewed them poorly without exploring all avenues of communication (note: call - don't message them through their online system), they treated me with kindness and respect. The first thing I told the sales associate when I walked in last week was how much I hate shopping for bras. It's true. So I was pleasantly surprised that I had such an amazing shopping experience at Hope Chest. I tried on no less than a dozen bras, all of which were comfortable and beautiful. A decent place overall (not for you if you need anything below $60), but the salespeople are pushy! I was asked at least three times upon entering if I needed help with anything. They have drawers marked with sizes, and when I looked in the drawer with my size, I was told that "they usually get stuff from the drawers themselves because it can be hard to find stuff." Wouldn't the reason for the size labels be...ease of finding your size? As a 30G, there's no chance my size was on display pretty much anywhere (except the two bras on the sales rack in sister sizes), so I was a little confused as to why it was so bad that I dared to look in the drawers. However, I'm not that irritable, so when they implied I shouldn't look in the drawers, I just told them my size. By that time I had already found three or four bras, so I went into a fitting room. Now, I have taken my measurements, and I know that based on my measurements, I am a 28G. I also know that 30-size bands are almost always more comfortable for me, which is why I wear 30Gs. However, when I asked a salesperson to judge how a bra fit me, she promptly told me I was an F cup. Fine -- if you want to bring me bras that will fit better, go right ahead. But she was pretty dismissive of me saying that the size I had told her was based on my measurements. I had picked the bras I was trying on partly because they were under ~$100, and when I said I was looking to stay under $90, she just went "That's gonna be hard to do here." Yes, I know that! But you DO have bras under $90, and I had assumed that based on your knowledge of the stock in your own place of employment, you might be able to find something in my preferred range. Well, okay -- if a bra is really beautiful and fits me perfectly, I'll splurge. But she seemed to completely forget what I had said about pricing, and brought me $110+ bras. (This wasn't just one salesperson being pushy -- the first girl's shift ended and another with a very similar disposition replaced her.) Don't get me wrong, both salespeople who helped me were very nice. However, I found them both to be fairly condescending. I'm not a newbie to bra shopping, but they both acted like I knew nothing, telling me I was "probably a 28, but most brands don't sell 28 bands." Yes, thank you! Good to know as I have never tried to find my size in any bra brand. I found a bralette intended specifically for bigger-busted people for $65, and the size that they recommended fit well, but I definitely felt pressured to purchase more. I'm satisfied with what I bought and I didn't have a terrible experience with monstrous salespeople or anywhere near it, so I don't want to make them/the store out to be worse than it is, but I did feel definite condescension/a little disdain from them. read more

I had the worst shopping experience of my life in this store. I called ahead to make sure that they carried bras with smaller band sizes, but large cup sizes 32/34 G-H. They said that they did. I went ahead and bought an online voucher through Gilt City and was so excited to go get some bras there. When I arrived, the saleswomen said that basically that they carry sizes ranging to H, but really don't have more than one or two in G or H. Imagine a store carrying S-L but carrying only one item in large. Stuck now with my voucher and thoroughly disappointed I asked them to see what they had. They pulled a few bras and as I tried each on, they consistently told me that ones that were not fitting did fit. The cups were cutting into breast tissue, the bands too big, or the front piece was not lying flat. All of which are signs of ill-fit. The girls, however, told me that bras for a larger chest would just fit that way. Clearly the saleswomen had no idea how bras are supposed to fit or that there are actually bras out there that fit larger chests. I walked in wearing one! As they kept telling me that ones that were not fitting did fit or that they just would never fit me I grew so frustrated and upset. They also gave incorrect information on sizing, such as that a 36F is equivalent to 34G. In cup size, yes those are equal, but the band size is different. The saleswomen need a lot more training and the ability to acknowledge when things do not fit. Finally they remembered that they had styles for a full bust and found one that fit OK. Since I had already spent money on the voucher I decided to just buy it and alter it myself. The women offered to special order some things, but the saleswomen are so terrible there that I did not want to ever have to set foot in that store again. Their claims that bras would just not fit my body were so insulting. Their consistent bad advice and unwillingness to think that bras can fit fuller breasts was beyond ridiculous. I never felt so bad in a store. This store should not brand itself as a speciality store in terms of size range. They have the same small range that Victoria's Secret has. If you have and A-D cup, this store should be fine for you. But don't expect the salespeople to be experts in bra fit. They have no clue. read more

Hallelujah! I went to Hope Chest today and had a great experience. Jen, the owner, is very sweet and really knows her stuff. Turns out I'm slightly between sizes and she helped me find a few really versatile yet pretty bras. I felt like I tried on a bunch but was still only in there for about 30/45 minutes, even with cleaning up the cheerios trail left in the changing area by my 1 year old. Prices were around $80-90, which is really good for good quality bras; I was actually nicely surprised that she wasn't handing me $100+ things to try on. I'll definitely be going back. In a stroller-friendly note, there are stairs in the store when you first come in but she helped me and down them and once up the store wasn't too cramped to navigate with it. read more

For years I had a been putting off getting a professional bra fitting but I finally was at my breaking point when I wasn't able to find anything flattering from the department stores. After a quick fitting at Hope Chest it turns out I have been wearing the wrong size - and by a large margin of error. The lades at Hope Chest are extremely helpful and knowledgeable and will tell you if something isn't working for you. The selections they gave me to try were beautiful and fit exceptionally well. The quality is high and the prices aren't cheap (expect to pay $80-$100 for a bra), but for something you are going to wear daily that is comfortable and flattering it's well worth the investment.
