Because Dr. Harris welcomed and enjoyed answering all of my questions that I would typically not want to bother a "rushed" dentist with, I learned more about my own teeth during a single check-up with him than I've learned in my previous 37 years of experience with dentists. For example, even though I didn't have any cavities, Dr. Harris was able to identify two spots which he foresaw as problematic in future years, and he gave me specific advice on things I could do to slow down or even reverse the cavity-forming process. I had no idea that our mouths actually have the ability to repair weak spots in our enamel! The V.A. doesn't provide dental care for veterans. They recommended that I call PRDC, "a non-profit clinic that provides affordable, high quality dental care." I was told that they serve everyone, from low-income families and retirees, to Vets. I find that their admin assistants, Cari and Cheri, to name two, are patient, helpful, knowledgeable, and like what they do. Regarding my actual treatments, I can only speak about Morgan and Dr Williams. But I can say that those two will treat you with a level of care and kindness that I'm sure they do their own family members. Smiling (behind their masks), positive and upbeat, they assessed my somewhat complicated issues, presented me with all of my options, and together we came up with a plan. I couldn't be more satisfied. I have to say, even the dental assistants, doctors and staff that I passed in the hallways were engaging and pleasant. Their default seems to be to have a calming effect and minimize the fear factor, for children (and adults!) It's obvious that they all believe deeply in their mission. Then...asked me about insurance...told them I have a paid plan through work and she also has Medicaid since I am the grandmother and have custody so that is a medical insurance that is offered for free due to the custody situation. I was then told that they cannot take her because she had Medicaid, which is not her primary insurance?? All of a sudden they are at full capacity?? But if she just had the Delta insurance they would take her as a new patient, they even said if I canceled the Medicaid they would set up an appointment for he Seems very discriminative!! its a shame that we have a paid insurance and could pay for anything the insurance doesn't cover and they still would not take her as a new patient.
