They got to know us before the wedding which is going to reflect in our pictures on our wedding day. We had some odd requests of things that we wanted to try and they were up for anything. We just got to see our sneak peak of our pictures (our wedding was only 3 days ago) and I am so thrilled and cannot wait to see the rest. That said, the utilization of the space is very well thought out. My only suggestion would be to add some hooks by the door for extra hanging storage! Even though we…read morehired her for just the day of the wedding, she called vendors the week prior, created an entire binder for herself with all of the details of our wedding, showed up the day before to assist with reception set up and was all around amazing to work with. She also coordinates rentals of the Belfast Boathouse and has had many years in the event planning business (including planning large events for the Avery corporation and for a major professional musician). We fell in love with Colonial Gables about 4-5 years ago during a spur of the moment weekend away…read more They placed us in one of the larger 2-bedroom cottages to put us front and center of the oceanfront. We fell in love with the cottage and the view and always personally request the same cottage when we visit. What's great about the larger cottage is that there are 2 queen beds in one bedroom, a king in the master and a pull out couch. We have several family members who come and go while we're there and there's always a place for them to sleep. Cottage #48 has everything already said above plus a massive deck overlooking the ocean with plenty of seating for everyone staying in the cottage. There are two entrances to the deck, one from the master and one from the living room. The only downsides are (1) the smoke from the fire pit below, (2) the number of people who randomly use your trash bins because they walk by on their way to their cabins, and (3) there's no overhang on the deck so you can't enjoy it while it's raining. It is a dog friendly resort. I have a family member with severe allergies who never has issues despite knowing that dogs have stayed in our cottage. On our recent visit, we were able to bring our sweet dog Churro and everyone was super great with him and understanding that he's a nervous dog. The location is great. I can't recommend enough.

Be aware that if you check in after 8:00 pm, there won't be a front desk employee on site, but your keys will be left for you.
