So many finds in this store. I am a big fan of the locally-handmade candles sold here. The scents last, even when the candle has burned down. The candles have super fun names too. These candles make such great gifts...even though I end up keeping them for myself! This store sells artistic teaspoons. I bought a set for my mom at Christmas & she got teary eyed, she loves cooking with them. I added a photo so you can see how special they are. The staff is ridiculously friendly & helpful. Everytime I enter the store, I am welcomed & always end up having a nice conversation w/the crew. I much prefer supporting local small businesses over purchasing gifts online or at a corporate mall. It is an eclectic mix of current collectibles like Byers Choice Carolers, folk art themed items, and big and small eye candy like locally made ornaments and cards. There are 4 rooms - a large front sales area, then a smaller area with fine items and foods, an area with lighting and collectibles and then in the rear, an area filled with vintage and antique finds. There are a large number of candles of a large variety of scents and manufacturers. I bought a bayberry scented jar candle and wasn't thrilled with the strength of the scent when I burned it. I would have been better off with the bayberry tapers. It's difficult to describe the items for sale except to say that the variety is extensive, some local items, gift items in all price ranges and something for everyone who is enticed by a country collectible vibe. Beautiful store, and a wonderful browsing experience!

The Olde Mill House Shoppes is two different buildings - the old stone house and an old barn - that have a wide selection of stuff that women love to shop like rugs, furniture, lighting, home decor, kitchen gadgets, pantry items, women's clothing and accessories. They also have a floral department that I think makes wreaths. My favorite part of the shoppes was the old stone house. Aside from admiring the lovely architecture I enjoyed looked at kitchen gadgets, kitchen decor, pantry items like bread mixes and such. I loved the creek of the floors too. It was a very charming experience. A lot of the furniture was definitely in the Shaker and colonial styles. The lighting section was amazing. Lots of early American inspired design lighting. I wasn't in the market for lighting so I moved on to other things. The rug section was fun to peruse. I saw they sold one of my favorite brands - Dash and Albert. They also had a lot of braided rugs. Regarding the clothing section in the refurbished barn, it wasn't really my style but it seemed like there were some regular customer in there having an absolute ball shopping for some new outfits. It kind of reminded me of the fun, comfy and colorful styles you might find at Chico's. Aside from the above, there was plenty more to look at like some linens, wall art, candles, etc. Overall, this was a fun place to explore and a great place to stop in while in Lancaster County.

Their window display was super charming and it drew me. Inside I found lots of goodies like accessories, stationary, jewelry, candles, home decor and such all nicely displayed. The store had a bit of a warm, natural feel to it and perhaps that is because of the plants. The items that caught my eye the most were some sturdy barrettes, a pair of lovely hoop earrings and a "crazy plant lady" sticker. Lititiz has a lot of great specialty shops but I think this is my favorite!

At Home is a GIANT store of things you probably don't need but won't be able to leave without. You'll find outdoor furniture and smaller pieces of indoor furniture. You'll find every imaginable color of linen shelved floor to ceiling. You'll find something to hang on every wall and to place on every flat surface. Then there's lots of random stuff that you can't live without. Yes, it's easy to get lost here and yes, it's easy to spend your whole paycheck. The prices are actually very reasonable but it's the abundance of choices that will empty your wallet. The Lancaster At Home is the carbon copy of every other At Home that I have visited. What stood out to me was our checkout experience. The cashier was so helpful, she was patient with my mom's questions and, with me pushing my mom in a wheelchair, she even helped us carry out our purchases. This was my mom's first visit to At Home and she loved it. I know from now on, it will be on our agenda when I'm in town visiting.
