After travelling for 10 days, my mom was having a tough time enjoying traditional Swedish food with her Taiwanese palate. I thought she deserved some relief and went on the search for some Chinese restaurants. Out of the two we went to this was the one she enjoyed. Instead of the complain I've grown used to this trip, she began to expound on the techniques of Chinese cooking and how Five Spice used to be bought from the apothecary. The food was appetizing and service was excellent. The server (and kitchen) faithfully fulfilled or request to go easy on the salt and the recommendations she steered us to didn't disappoint. Our server was friendly and professional - I even saw her explaining some calligraphy to some other customers. This isn't a hip, trendy place with Mason jars and industrial decor, but I enjoyed the tiered layout and ambience throughout and by the time we left tables have begun to fill up. I would recommend this restaurant to my uncle's and aunties travelling in Gothenburg. Most importantly, as of March 2017, the server explained this restaurant had just hired a new chef from Hong Kong by way of London.

From the outside, it looks just like another ordinary Swedish style Chinese restaurant (hard to explain what that means, but if you live in Sweden, you'll get what I'm trying to say). It's pretty small inside and seats maybe a maximum of 20 people. Our party ordered duck, pork belly, sweet and sour spare ribs, deep fried fish stew, duck with veggies, spicy garlic prawns and rice. Not a single dish disappointed. Each dish averaged about 100 SEK. I dare say this might be THE restaurant to get my Chinese food fix!

Our reservation was for 8pm, they had a set four course menu for valentines day (picking between meat, fish, and vegetarian). We both ordered the meat option, as it looked delicious! The inside decor is super cozy, they have mostly 2 - 4 seater tables that are situated near each other, everything was decorated really sweetly for valentines dinner. The food was fantastic - really excellent steak for dinner, the pasta appetizer was delicious, tasted freshly made. The service was amazing. Unfortunately my partner started to not feel well midway through the meal due to ongoing seasonal cough/etc (not from the food!), we asked the waiters if we could wrap up the latter half of our meal and they were SO nice about it! They had our food wrapped up and bill for us within minutes - they didn't skip a note, were overly considerate about making sure we had everything, and couldn't have been nicer about the whole thing. Overall a great cozy, date night spot for some really fantastic italian food.

Their set menu was great, they bring each course to the table and explain all the elements individually, and the pacing of all the small dishes was perfect. If you have dietary restrictions they're really good about accommodating that if you email them in advance - which made this such a good experience! We loved all of the different dishes, each were new and interesting and just the right amount. The beginning "snacks" were SO good, little bites with so much flavor. The food was so fresh, one course was a broth and sort of amazing how they could possibly make something so simple so flavorful and interesting. The restaurant is very nice, it's small with just a few tables up front and some in the back, so it makes for a super cozy ambiance. The service was just as amazing as the food, everyone was super friendly and happy to explain any parts of the meal. Most of the ingredients are canned mushrooms (Champinjoner) though and a creamy sauce that tastes beef. I can take it - it's lunch. generous portion and bread to that. Coffee, salad and tap water included in the price of SEK80. I don't know at rush hour (or if there even is one) but I came around 1.30 pm and it was just me and two other parties. Peace and quiet! It is a decent lunch joint. Go here rather than have a sandwich at a pricey café at the same price! They do not accept AMEX.
