They slaughtered healthy mature OAK trees that were over 100 years old to enhance the views for a developer. They completely removed the upper canopy which no doubt will lead to the death of the oaks and animals that lived there. Their workers are NOT tree professionals and completely lack tree knowledge. They are a hack job company that lacks morals. They should brand themselves the oak tree killers because that's what they look like and are really good at. Can't say much for his crews tree trimming expertise, but I can say his crew today hadno problem with reckless driving. At 430 pm today their truck/trailer mounted grinder entered the freeway, 405 south off Culver Blvd. The driver not only cut off cars with right of way at the on ramp but drove within 3 feet of their bumpers. After traffic merged, he drove on the right hand shoulder and after 300+ feet of travel, physically forced cars to make way for him.... emergency collision avoidance required by vehicles... In short, he placed people's lives and property at risk.... Just before the 90/405 interchange. Retired trucker here..... Guy shouldn't have a license. read more

I'm surprised to read the negative reviews - i don't doubt them and cringe when i read them, but they are not our experience have used them at least 6 or 7 times. They have been prompt, professional, clean up well, and are well supervised. Pricing for any tree service has gone up a lot lately and they are no exception. I would say the are not arborists - hence 4 stars, not 5 - but if you know what you want them to do, they do it with great care. I've already got them on my calendar again for this spring. read more

These guys climbed onto our property and cut down bamboo tips since the breeze was blowing them over the fence. Destroyed 30 foot tall bamboo trees which will never look or grow natural again. These guys are hacks and from the reviews I see I'm not the only one's to notice. They do not care about trees, they care only about a paycheck. read more

As for too many people in Southern California, our property took a substantial hit with the recent Woolsey fires and we found ourselves in a situation where at least a dozen trees had to come down including a row of mature eucalyptuses. Jerry showed up on a Saturday morning with 23 workers, 7 trucks, two trailers and a chipper shredder and attacked the property with such gusto and such professionalism, I was blown away. No task was too much, no tree too tall, no damage too daunting. After putting in a 10 hour day they cleaned up the property impeccably and told me they needed to put another five hours in the next day to clear the last stumps and do a final cleaning. It's rare to see such a professional who brings first class inventory to a project, an army of loyal men and tremendous knowhow. Jerry's got a client for life in us. read more

They have a lot of new nice shiny trucks which is clearly why their costs are higher than anybody else. It is a question of style too -- if you want a fast hack these guys though overpriced are fine. If you want tree service and care, look elsewhere For tree trimming -- they hack the trees more than needs and rush through the job with no care. They dont use cranes or ladders and essentially hack the trees instead of protecting them. The same week our trees which are mature glorious trees were being cut (essentially hacked the branches at random never getting to the top down approach) the property across the way was having their mature trees trimmed. Style wise the other property still looks like their trees are still resembling nice trees. read more

They service/cut/trim the trees at the complex where I live. They also used do the landscaping here. The guys know what they're doing and are very efficient. However, I'm demoting a star for the Peeping Tom employee they hired who's name starts with a "V" who did the landscaping every week. "V" was always climbing trees, sitting on the ledges and getting on the roof looking through the windows and skylights of my house and a few other women. Pervert ! Perhaps the company didn't know-guess it wasnt' their fault. I give the company props because when I complained to the HOA here about him, Jerry''s Tree Service fired "V". Good riddance "V"... We have lots of huge trees on our property and have had many companies trim our trees over the years but I have to say, hands down, Jerry's Tree Service was the best experience yet. After getting several estimates my neighbor told me how they had used Jerry's through the years and have always been happy. I called them and they gave me an estimate which came in lower than the other companies. They came on time and took thorough steps to protect our property from any falling branches etc (measures that went beyond what other companies have done). The owners are three brothers Jerry, Miguel and Lalo and all of whom are very cheerful and know their stuff. One or two of them stayed to oversee everything and make sure it was done to our liking (and they brought an ample crew to get the job done in one day). At one point a branch fell and broke a floodlight that was up in one of the trees and at the end of the day I asked my husband to make sure he gave them a new lamp to screw in before they took down their ladders. He found out Jerry had already gone out and bought a new lamp and replaced it! (before we even asked about it!) Now that's service. Afterward they completely cleaned up, put all the patio furniture back to our specifications and left everything super clean. Plus the trees look spectacular! The crew was delightful, English was no problem and they are fully insured. I will be using them from now on! read more

I asked my client who is an arborist for a recommendation for a company who can prune our 20 year old Cottonwood. This was the first time we had it pruned so it was long overdue. He recommended Jerry's Tree Service, and he uses them for his business as well. My husband and I were very happy with their work. They showed up earlier than scheduled (which worked out well for us) to make sure they had the right house, etc. Vidal's nephew and another employee came to do the job. They shaped the tree very nicely considering how much had to be removed. We also asked them to remove a Yucca plant. They promptly did both jobs and left leaving the grounds looking tidy. Jerry and his crew are the best. We've had several companies out to trim our trees and high hedges over the years but were never completely satisfied. I saw Jerry's truck down the street in front of a prominent neighbors house and thought if he used this company maybe I should give them a try. Jerry came out as scheduled to find out what we wanted done and gave an estimate which was quite reasonable compared to some others. He and his crew arrived at the appointed day and time and Jerry explained to his crew what needed to be done before he left. The supervisor who stayed and the rest of the crew know how to trim trees properly. Not too little, not too much. We've never had such a good job done. Extremely pleased. Well, I don't actually know how good the tree trimming is, because Jerry flaked on both appointments that I made to come and give me an estimate- The first missed appointment I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt and try again, the second appointment we had made by text, so I have it all confirmed on my phone- I texted him the day of, after he hadn't shown up by the appointment time to ask if he was still coming, and he never even bothered to respond! We have used multiple tree services over the years for brush clearance. We keep coming back to Jerry's. He is a licensed arborist, which is really important when dealing with oaks. He is a professional - he is well-insured. And he has a real eye for aesthetics - not just for the tree as it is cut today, but how the tree will grow in over the next 12-24 months so that it looks nice all the way until the next trimming. They said their estimator was in the area and should be there shortly or would call me (they took my number...again). They never called and never showed up.
