Went to Jersey Mike's Subs one evening and was honestly surprised that there weren't many people there, but I definitely wasn't complaining because I was able to get in and out quickly without any issues. As soon as I walked in, I was pleasantly greeted and patiently assisted while I took my time looking over the menu board. The young lady at the front counter was very informative and answered all of my questions about a couple of sandwiches I was curious about. Her recommendations and explanations definitely helped make my decision easier when I finally chose the Famous Philly. I also appreciated how fresh everything was made to order. The young lady and another young man working together had a really smooth system in place. One handled customers and to-go orders while the other prepared sandwiches and worked the grill when needed. They both worked efficiently together and, most importantly, kept everything very clean. I noticed the sandwich station was tidy and organized, which unfortunately isn't always the case at many deli or sandwich shops. Cleanliness definitely earns extra points in my book. My sandwich came out perfectly made with just the right amount of meat, and the bread was really fresh and flavorful. I had never tried the rosemary parmesan bread before, but it was absolutely delicious and paired perfectly with the sandwich. Updated review. They have delicious subs. Not every location is the same. The subs have gotten kinda pricey but still they're good.

I always order their Roast Beef, Italian and Tuna Subs with Mayo smeared on both inner sides with extra lettuce and tomato Mikes Way. I haven't tried the other subs but they're consistent. It's comparable to a Jersey sub all except for the toasted bun. Jersey Mike's doesn't toast their bun while most North Jersey subs made at Pizzerias (the best place for subs in Jersey) toast theirs. They also have a Cherry Pepper Relish (CPR) that goes great on their Italian Subs. read more

I used to LOVE Jersey Mike's. Like my husband and I had to set a hard limit of once a week to keep our sodium intake in the general vicinity of reasonable. The last 6-9 months has seen a significant decrease in food quality and quantity as well as the correct assembly of the sandwich's by the employees (even though we tip at least $2 per sandwich every time). All of these factors go hand in hand to result in our search for a new sandwich store that has decent gluten free bread. And in the meantime, I guess no subs for us. The quality of the meat went downhill first. Saltier, more preservative flavored, off texture on the turkey and roast beef. Next was a dilution of the olive oil and vinegar that has gotten so bad we have starting having a blend ready at home to supplement what the store uses. Then came the decrease in lettuce. LETTUCE! The cheapest thing on the sandwich and today it wasn't even a mono layer on the sandwich...after requesting extra lettuce on the online pickup order portal. Service: beyond what I assume is quality sacrifice from home office cost cutting efforts, now it has been multiple sandwiches with various toppings and standard fillings missing. The straw that broke the camel's back was the omission of BACON from my club sub today. That's what they use to justify the few dollar price increase over other sandwiches and they didn't even put it on my sandwich. Silver lining...the bacon has also gotten weird lately so it was actually better without it. But I still paid extra for it so quite disappointed. All-in-all... cannot recommend that you eat at Jersey Mike's. Every one in our local area has followed the same sad path and I don't see that changing in the near future. read more

This is my fave sandwich shop! I haven't had a better turkey and prov sub. I wish it could come warmed but that's ok. The mini is the perfect snack on the go and I can eat while driving but most times I eat right when I get back in the car lol. The giant gets me 2-3 meals! I love that they give you more toppings if asked. I also love the oil and vinegar blend. I get jersey Mike's 1-2x a month. We love it for our dinner when heading the the drive in theater. read more

It's nice to see this Jersey Mike's open up in La Mesa. It's on a very busy corner of Jackson and Grossmont Blvd. I stopped in on opening day and order the #6 or their famous roast beef with provolone cheese on wheat bread Mike's way. The sub came with a good amount of tender roast beef made by Jersey Mike's. It tasted good and I appreciated that it was not overly salty. The provolone cheese was very nice and so were the lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and Mike's condiments to have it his way. The wheat bread was good. Usually when I get their wheat bread it's on the dry side, but this one today was much improved. The staff members were all up beat and friendly on this fine day. The place offer a very good amount of inside seating but no outside seating as of yet. I am not sure if they plan to provide any. There's a small parking lot on the back. read more

First time here with my husband. I would not recommend coming here! It is clean and we even saw someone still wiping down the back area no complaints there.I ordered a regular and a giant, my regular was not sliced when I got home. The worker who took our order in the beginning seemed to be the only person who knew how to do his job. It took us 15 minutes to receive our food and another 10 minutes for someone to check me out as I stood in front of the cashier! The cashier kept taking other people as they came along instead of ringing me up first! I did not see a function system of work flow after sandwiches were prepped. There was a female worker calling out names for orders near the pick up area for people like ourselves who hadnt paid yet and were giving us our sandwiches instead of to the cashier woman for us to pay first ! I have worked in customer service and fast food for over 10 years , Im disappointed to see something like that! On top of that , my husband and I were dressed in comfortable shorts and a top; my husband has a full body of tattoos and he was holding a drink we were waiting to pay for (like I said) an employee one of the blond young ladies working there made my husband very uncomfortable stealing glances at him as though he was going to steal said drink . I work in leadership, and I love positive, warm employees who love what they do. The Jersy Mikes in La Mesa was busy when I entered, and I could have been in a better mood, but I was quiet and tired. I stood there and said nothing, but it's the customer service quality he has that is hard to find. I'm a healthcare leader and know how important it is to find a quality employee. I'm busy as an introvert and don't engage with people I don't know, but he forced me to, and I took notice of his leadership qualities. You all should hold on to him and recruit him as a manager when the time comes. He is perfect if you want to prevent a turnover in staff and long-time customers. I usually frequent Subway but I was in the area and decided to check out this location. For starters, the parking lot can be a little difficult to enter/ exit, but it's not something that they can control. So as a heads up that there's cars possibly coming in from either Grossmont or Jackson. Once inside, the building looks clean and well staffed. As I said above, it was my first time there and I wasn't sure what to get. Not sure what the fuzz is all about, but for my first time I thought the staff were all friendly? 3 stars for the food, but one for customer service. More specifically the female worker with the tattoo sleeves. I usually order my food online through the app before I arrive. If I show up before the time that is quoted for pick up, she always busts my ass for showing up early. This is the third time, and it's always the same one. Today I asked if it would just be easier for me to order when I get there since it usually seems like there's less wait. She explained that there's not always the same wait. , but then takes the opportunity to make a smart ass comment and says "that's why there's a wait time". I don't need to get bitched out because I showed up early. I was just standing off to the side waiting for my order. She asked for my name even though I never asked if my order was ready. They certainly didn't need the 20 minutes that the app quoted to prepare my meal. I don't expect the workers to kiss anyone's ass, but a little courtesy doesn't seem like too much to ask. read more

I am a disabled person/vet. Yesterday, when I attempted to patronize the La Mesa Jersey Mike's Sup store yesterday afternoon I found that the side entrance doors are now locked. These are the doors closest to the disabled parking and that allow people using wheelchairs and walking aids to conveniently and safely enter the store. The sidewalk that is now suggested can be dangerous for disabled people as it is narrow and has a drop on one side. Today I called the store and spoke with a person who said that he is the general manager. He seemed unsympathetic to the situation and claimed that the City of La Mesa had told him that they are in compliance with ADA requirements. He did not seem to understand that without an inspection by an ADA representative the city could not provide such an statement. He admitted that they had no certificates or documents so stating their compliance. I told him that I believed he was wrong, and that the store was not in compliance. He didn't care and we ended the conversation. In short, at least this store does not care about the inconvenience and safety of the disabled that may wish to patronize their establishment. I'm hungry after work and wanted to try something different, so I came in. The manager, or perhaps just a team leader kept talking to me about what I wanted without any eye contact and this made me feel not valued as a customer. He just kept slicing salami or whatever while he was taking my order, but I had questions, being my first time here and didn't feel like I had his attention even after I asked him to stop what he was doing because, "it felt like he wasn't even talking to me." On top of that the prices seemed pretty high I mean , over 8 bucks for a medium and it cost 3 or more for a drink with it... good grief! This review is not based on their food but my bad experience. I came here with my baby and was pushing a stroller through the front door which can be challenging and as I was headed in, the door closed on my foot. As it hit my foot I felt a sharp pain. I walked inside got in line and looked down at my foot that was now throbbing. I noticed that my boot had a now hole in it. Surely a properly working door would not cause this. I decided to go back to the door to investigate and saw that the bottom was very sharp which is what caused the hole in my shoe. I was pretty upset about this so mentioned it to the assistant manager (the actual manager was not here) who just said sorry I'll have maintenance look into it. That's it... Good thing I was wearing boots otherwise that cut would have been on my foot and not my shoe but I'm very upset at the fact that this happened and nothing at all was done about it. Three times specifically requested no Jalapenos on my Big Kahuna Sandwich, went home and sure enough there they were, no big deal I thought I'll call. Spoke to the manager he basically called me a cheat and a liar told me to actually return the sandwich "as proof." Like my word is not good enough. Of course, I did not return, I still have pride. Food is always consistent but service is a disaster. I go here often and typically it takes 20mins even when it's is not busy and there are no other customers. Staff often seems overwhelmed and doesn't really pay attention to customers. The last three times I was there they couldn't get the credit/debit machine to work and after trying multiple time for more than 5mins I was just told to take my food and go. " Employees Have No Clue " I went to the Jersey Mike's Sub Shop in La Mesa and had a NOT GOOD experience. First of all the employees all look as if they are new. They don't seem to know what to do, or really how to make the sandwiches. They have lots of seating in the store but the sandwiches they made with everything I told them to put on the Subs were NOT GOOD ! Then had no good taste to them. Tough to go wrong here but customer service could be A LOT better. When you mess up an order you should be able to get it free or at least remade...Not told that you will be charged for another sandwich if its remade. Luckily the order wasn't ruined just not what I ordered. In the future I will probable be going to another location or a small business that takes care of their customers.
